Pokémon Breeder's Story

Chapter 37: Chapter 37: Steven's Friendship +1+1+1

Chapter 37: Steven's Friendship +1+1+1

From the "Reverse Gravity" technique just now, it was clear that Kenji had a talent for developing moves. If he became an official trainer, he could let this talent shine. In the future, if he became a Champion, he could earn money through competitions and brand endorsements. If he didn't become a Champion, he could still use the travel experience gained over the years to get a job in an industry related to trainers or Pokémon.

Seeing Steven's earnest expression, Kenji suddenly wanted to laugh. Steven was empathizing with him!

However, Kenji didn't currently need funding from the Devon Corporation. Now that the breeding center was on the right track, those sponsorship slots should be left for trainers who truly needed them.

"I hadn't finished what I was saying," Kenji said, shaking his head. "I didn't have much of a goal at first, just wanted to earn some money to support myself and Bewear. But now..."

"And now?" Steven pressed.

Kenji looked at Bewear and the Clefairy and replied, "Now, I just want to run this breeding center with everyone, take care of more Pokémon, and gather all my favorite Pokémon to raise in the backyard. This is my dream too."

"That's a very nice dream," Steven praised softly.

Kenji smiled and then asked in return, "Then what about you, Steven? Do you have a dream? To become the League Champion?"

Steven nodded and said, "That is just one goal on my path of training."

"Then is there anything you truly want to do?" Kenji asked again.

Steven suddenly became a little embarrassed.

Kenji: "?"

"To be honest, I am very fond of stones. Whether they are ancient fossils, meteorites that have fallen from the sky, or rare stones from the depths of mines."

"Although it may seem strange to outsiders, in my eyes, they are very charming."

When talking about stones, Steven's spirits were high, his eyes filled with an elegant confidence.

Kenji: "..."

As expected, it's the Steven I'm familiar with.

"Speaking of which... I happen to have a few stones that are difficult to find on this planet."

With that, Kenji stood up and retrieved the meteorites that the Clefairy had gifted him from his storeroom.

Seeing the precious stone glittering with iridescent light, Steven's eyes instantly fixated on it. It was a beautiful stone he had never seen before!

Immediately after, Steven looked up at Kenji, his eyes filled with longing, his face clearly written with two large words:

WANT IT!

"What do you think?" Kenji asked.

An urge to immediately spend a huge sum of money to buy this stone welled up in Steven's heart.

"It's very precious," he said softly, his eyes glued to the stone. "It doesn't look like a stone from this planet. Judging by its appearance and luster, it seems to have come from outer space."

Kenji nodded. As expected of the rock enthusiast, Steven; his guess was completely correct.

"Kenji, I was wondering if you would be willing to sell this stone to me," Steven finally couldn't help but ask.

"Sorry, this stone is not for sale," Kenji said, shaking his head.

Amidst Steven's disappointed and regretful gaze, Kenji continued, "However, it can be traded."

The light that had dimmed in Steven's eyes a second ago flared up again. He composed himself and asked, "What do you need?"

Kenji glanced at the Clefairy, who had run over at some point to watch, and said, "Moon Stones."

Moon Stones?

Steven was slightly taken aback. His gaze then shifted to the Clefairy nearby. As far as he knew, the Pokémon Clefairy needed Moon Stones to evolve into its final form, Clefable. Kenji needed Moon Stones, presumably to evolve this group of Clefairy at his breeding center.

Although Moon Stones weren't common, they were still a product of this planet. Whether it was a Fire Stone, Water Stone, Thunder Stone, or Moon Stone, none of them were particularly rare to Steven. In his early years, around seven or eight years old when his interest in stones first sparked, he had already spent a lot of money on them. Now, in his stone warehouse, these evolution stones were the most numerous.

Moreover, something like a Moon Stone could be bought, but this precious meteorite was a priceless treasure that couldn't be found on the market!

"I can do that," Steven agreed without a moment's hesitation. But then he hesitated slightly, because he didn't have those stones with him right now. If he went home to get them, it would take a very long time... because the house where he kept his stones was not in Rustboro City, but in Mossdeep City, on the eastern side of Hoenn.

After a moment of silence, Steven explained his situation. Just as he thought Kenji would ask him to go home first and then come back for the trade, he heard Kenji say, "In that case, you might as well take this stone with you. I will wait here for you to return with the Moon Stones."

Steven was slightly taken aback. Kenji trusted him that much? A feeling of being trusted moved him. He nodded seriously, took the stone, and left with only the words, "Please wait for my return." Then, he and his three Pokémon left the breeding center.

Leaving Kenji to look at the information before him with a complex expression.

[Name: Steven Stone]

[Age: 10]

[Gender: Male]

[Special Ability: Money-bility]

[Status: Healthy]

[Mood: 😊 Excited]

[Joy Value: 80]

[Friendship: 50 (He considers you a trustworthy partner)]

[Description: In the end, I'm number one, strong and amazing! —Steven]

Kenji, who had accidentally used his ability on Steven while concentrating: "..."

Did I get the wrong system? Why can I see human data too... What the heck is "Money-bility"?! And why did Steven's friendship level shoot up to 50 directly? Isn't he a bit too easy to win over?

Kenji wasn't worried about giving the meteorite to Steven in advance. As a transmigrator, he knew very well what kind of person Steven was. He was a hero who would stand at the forefront to protect the Hoenn region without hesitation in the face of Groudon and Kyogre's conflict.

However, what surprised Kenji was that his special ability could even see human data. So, humans really were a type of Pokémon, right? Steven's special ability was "Money-bility." If it were Lance, would it become "Dragon Tamer Power"?

"I wonder if I'll have a chance to meet Lance in the future," Kenji murmured. Lance, Cynthia, Ash, Misty... he wanted to meet all of them.

To bring the Moon Stones back to Kenji as quickly as possible, Steven didn't linger on the road. He mounted his Skarmory and began to fly towards Mossdeep City. After a full day and night of flying, they finally arrived smoothly.

Pushing open the door to his house, Steven carefully placed the precious meteorite into his treasure vault. Then, he turned and went to the place where he stored his evolution stones. Over the years, he had collected quite a few of them. And now, they could finally be put to use.

After packing the Moon Stones into his bag, Steven turned his gaze to the other side, to the stones he had collected over the years. Then, he stood up and took down a round stone that was as clear as a marble, with orange-yellow patterns inside.

He was very much looking forward to becoming friends with this person, Kenji. The Moon Stones were just for the trade. This rare stone, he decided, would be a token of their friendship.
