Pokémon Adventures: GAMER PATH

Chapter 210: Hoenn Arc!

~Third POV~

[Kanto Region, 2 Years Later, Pallet Town – Oak's Lab]

The gentle breeze of Pallet Town, carrying the scent of blooming flowers and distant salt from the sea, was a familiar comfort to Azure Sky. Two years had unfurled themselves with a quiet grace since he had last set out on a grand adventure.

His days were a harmonious blend of assisting Professor Oak with research, training his ever-growing team, and simply enjoying the companionship of his closest partners. They were more than just Pokémon; they were family, confidantes, and unyielding allies.

Pikachu, a blur of golden lightning and boundless energy, would often chase butterfrees through the tall grass behind Azure's home, while Eevee, ever the graceful shadow, observed with an intelligent gaze, her fur shimmering in the sunlight.

During these two years, Azure had not been idle. His champion status had opened doors to unique training opportunities and encounters.

His thirst for battle increased slightly as he received his Beldum from Steven Stone years ago has been trained dutifully. Under Azure's meticulous care and rigorous training, the Beldum had not only evolved into a formidable Metang, but its psychic and steel powers had been honed to a razor's edge.

Even more remarkably, during expeditions into uncharted territories of Hisui in the past, Azure had come across two truly extraordinary Pokémon: a Ninetales and a Golduck, both displaying an imposing stature and a raw, untamed power that set them apart from their kin in the past.

During those encounters, he battled Ninetales, managing to obtain an Alpha Vulpix, which later evolves into a majestic Alpha Ninetales in the future. And the Alpha Psyduck he saved when the Alpha Golduck and Gyarados battled, destroying the area.

The Alpha Psyduck was a sight to behold, its typically goofy demeanor overshadowed by its sheer size and the sheer intensity of its psychic migraines, which, when channeled, unleashed devastating power.

These new additions, alongside his steadfast Pikachu and Eevee, formed a unique and formidable team, each member a testament to Azure's unwavering dedication and profound connection to Pokémon.

Yet, despite the tranquility and the joys of home, a familiar restlessness began to stir within Azure's soul. The vastness of the world beyond Kanto beckoned.

He felt the pull of new landscapes, new challenges, and new friendships waiting to be forged. The Hoenn region, a vibrant land whispered about in Professor Oak's lectures, had always held a particular fascination.

Its unique ecosystem, its ancient legends, and the promise of undiscovered Pokémon species filled his thoughts more. One sunny afternoon, as Azure watched Pikachu and Eevee playfully sparring by the old oak tree, he made up his mind.

He walked over to Professor Oak's lab, the familiar scent of ozone and old books filling the air. Azure began, a determined glint in his eyes, in a confident tone, "Professor, I've been giving it a lot of thought. I believe it's time for my next journey."

Professor Oak, adjusting his spectacles, looked up from a complex data analysis on his monitor. A knowing smile crinkled the corners of his eyes as he said calmly, "Ah, Azure, I had a feeling this day would come sooner rather than later. The spirit of adventure never truly rests in a true Trainer, does it?"

He paused, stroking his chin, seemingly reliving a memory. He then said curiously, "And where do you intend to cast your net this time, my boy?"

Azure stated firmly with an eager expression on his face, with an excited voice, "Hoenn. I want to explore the Hoenn region. Learn about its Pokémon, its culture, and its challenges. I feel like there's so much more for me to discover."

Professor Oak nodded slowly, a thoughtful hum escaping his lips. He grinned as he said happily, "Hoenn, excellent choice! A region rich in biodiversity and fascinating geological phenomena. I happen to be in regular contact with Professor Birch, the leading authority on Pokémon research in Hoenn. He's based in Littleroot Town, a wonderful starting point."

The Professor then reached for his Rotom Phone, a gleam of excitement in his eyes. He said happily, "Let me just give him a quick call. It's always beneficial for a new Trainer, even an experienced one like yourself, to have the support of the local Professor. And a little something else since you brought those Hisuian Pokémon…"

A few rings later, a friendly, disheveled man with a perpetually surprised expression appeared on the screen. Prof. Birch said, surprised, "Professor Oak! What a pleasant surprise! Is everything well in Kanto?"

Prof. Oak chuckled, waving his hand dismissively as he explained to him, "Indeed, Birch! I'm calling about a very special Trainer from Pallet Town, Azure Sky. He's a very powerful Campion Trainer, and he's eager to embark on a new journey. He has his sights set on Hoenn."

Professor Birch's eyes widened, then a broad smile spread across his face. He replied curiously, "A Kanto Champion heading to Hoenn? This is fantastic news! We'd be honored to have him. Tell me, Azure, what brings you to our lush lands?"

Azure stepped into view. Knowing the true purpose of his visit, he explained his story, "Professor Birch, it's an honor. I'm looking forward to learning everything I can about Hoenn and its unique Pokémon. I've heard so much about your research."

Prof. Birch smiled, hearing this as he boomed in an excited voice, "Splendid, splendid! Well, Azure, consider this an official welcome. When you arrive in Littleroot Town, I'll have a Pokedex ready for you to help with your research, and of course, a choice of one of Hoenn's native starter Pokémon! Every journey should begin with a fresh companion, wouldn't you agree?"

A warmth spread through Azure. He smiled as he thought, 'A new starter?'

Despite his seasoned team, the idea of bonding with a new Pokémon, nurturing its potential from the very beginning, filled him with a renewed sense of purpose. He thanked the Professor happily, "Thank you, Professor Birch. That's incredibly generous!"

From the other end, Prof. Birch waved his hand dismissively as he said, "Nonsense! It's the least we can do for a Trainer of your caliber. Safe travels, and I look forward to meeting you!"

*Beep*

With a final wave, Professor Birch's image vanished. Azure turned to Professor Oak, a genuine smile gracing his lips as he said respectfully, "Thank you, Professor. You've always been so supportive."

Prof. Oak helplessly shakes his head as he says proudly, "My pleasure, my boy. Now, how do you intend to travel to Hoenn? It's quite a distance."

Azure's gaze drifted towards the wide-open sky beyond the lab window. He grinned as he stated proudly, "I'll be flying. Dragonite is more than capable of the journey. She's been eager for a long flight."

Professor Oak chuckled. He understood Azure's Pokémon and the Dragonite species 'distance travel, "Ah, yes, your magnificent Dragonite. A splendid choice for such an expedition. Just make sure to pack plenty of provisions for both yourself and your team. Hoenn weather can be... unpredictable."

Azure nodded as he began to pack up, preparing for the upcoming days ahead. He muttered curiously, "Hoenn huh… let's see what Team Aqua and Magma got. Would be interesting to see their days ruined…"

[Kanto Region, Days Later, Pallet Town – Oak's Lab]

The next few days were a flurry of preparations. Azure carefully packed his backpack, ensuring all his essentials were in order.

He spent extra time with his Pokémon: reaffirming his bond with Pikachu and Eevee, who seemed to sense the upcoming change and buzzed with excitement. Checking Metang's metallic shell for any scuffs from recent training.

He gently groomed the fur of Alpha Vulpix while making sure Alpha Psyduck was meditating peacefully, its headache under control. Each one represented a different facet of his journey thus far.

The morning of departure dawned clear and crisp. Azure stood on the familiar hill overlooking Pallet Town, his Pokémon waved tearfully but proudly from their doorstep, seeing him go on a new adventure.

Professor Oak stood beside him, a hand resting on his shoulder. Professor Oak said, his voice soft, "Take care, Azure. The world is vast, and there's always more to learn. Remember to keep in touch, and don't hesitate to call if you encounter anything truly extraordinary."

Azure replied, a lump in his throat, "I will, Professor."

He looked at his team gathered around him: Pikachu perched on his shoulder, Eevee at his feet, Metang floating silently beside him, Alpha Vulpix regal and alert, and Alpha Psyduck, looking surprisingly calm, his large feet firmly planted on the ground.

Azure checked his shadow to see Marshadow following inside. Azure held Ho-Oh's Poké Ball as the Pokémon itself is currently flying around the world fulfilling its duty.

Currently traveling with Ho-Oh was Celebi with its own Rotom Phone, sightseeing the world with no worries of being captured. He grinned as he muttered, looking at the sky, "I hope you two are having out there…"

With a deep breath, Azure tossed a Poké Ball high into the air with a knowing grin. In a flash of crimson light, his Dragonite materialized, its massive wings unfurling, casting a brief shadow over the ground.

*Pop*

The powerful Pokémon let out a soft, rumbling roar, its intelligent eyes meeting Azure's. Azure asked, a grin spreading across his face, "Ready, old friend?"

Dragonite dipped its head in affirmation, then lowered itself, allowing Azure to climb onto its broad back. Pikachu scrambled up, settling comfortably near Azure's neck, while Eevee gracefully leaped onto Dragonite's head, her tail wagging.

Metang, Vulpix, and Psyduck returned to their Poké Balls with a final shimmer. With a powerful beat of its wings, Dragonite lifted off, the wind rushing past it.

*Fwp*

Pallet Town, with its cozy houses and familiar landscapes, rapidly shrank beneath them. Azure watched it recede, a pang of nostalgia mixed with an overwhelming surge of excitement.

The Kanto region, his home, was now behind him, a cherished memory and a foundation for what was to come. The flight was long but exhilarating. Dragonite, a tireless flyer, cut through the clouds with impressive speed.

Azure pointed out formations in the clouds to Pikachu, who chattered excitedly. Eevee, nestled against Dragonite's neck, occasionally peered over the edge, her eyes wide with wonder.

Hours blurred into a sensation of boundless freedom. The familiar greens and browns of Kanto gradually shifted, transforming into the vibrant, lush emeralds and deep blues of a truly tropical landscape.

Feeling the wind brush past his face, Azure muttered excitedly, "The Hoenn Region… time to game on, guys!"

[Hoenn Region, Meanwhile, Littleroot Town]

Meanwhile, in the Hoenn region, a new Pokémon adventure is about to unfold. The story starts in the Hoenn region, where a wild Duskull, Volbeat, Beautifly, and Cacnea are seen attacking someone.

The person opens a Poké Ball and releases a Pokémon that easily defeats them without being seen. The person is revealed to be Norman, the new Gym Leader of Petalburg City, who is being interviewed by Gabby and Ty.

*VRMM*

*VRMM*

Norman's wife, Caroline, watches as she drives a moving truck to her new home in Hoenn with her son in the back as she mutters, "Hahaha! Honey… you sure look handsome on TV. And finally… we can live together as a family again! I'm so glad! Right, Ruby?"

Caroline calls to her son that his father is on television, but she guesses that he wouldn't want to see it in the first place, as she thought sadly, 'As usual, he isn't paying any attention…'

In the back of the truck, a young man named Ruby dolls up his three Pokémon as he muttered intensely, "One sec… I'm in the middle of something… There! All done! Here are your hat's try'em on!!"

*TA-DAH*

Ruby dolls up his Poochyena named Nana, a Skitty named Kiki, and a Ralts named Rara. But then he notices that a piece of Nana's fur is too long compared to the other as he mutters, "Wait a minute… I think the fur on this side is a little too long."

*Swsh*

*CHK*

*Swsh*

*CHK*

Ruby then cuts it to make both sides match as he marveled at his work, "Wonderful! Excellent!! Exquisite!! Perfect – Whoa!"

*ZKHUNK*

*SMASH*

Suddenly, the truck gets stuck in the mud and comes to a screeching halt. Caroline tells him to come outside and help, but Ruby refuses due to the thought of his Pokémon getting dirty.

*FLOAT*

Instead, Ruby opts for having Rara use her Confusion technique to move the truck out of the mud. Ruby opens the back of the truck to see Hoenn for the first time as he speaks confidently, "Hmm… so this is the Hoenn Region. It's nice! The perfect backdrop for my Pokémon! That's right! My team's always gotta be… smart. Tough. Cute. Cool. And of course… Beautiful!"

*Wooosh*

The wind brushed past Ruby as he saw the sky above, grinning, ready to accomplish his own dream… The new journey of Hoenn has just begun.
