Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 136: Chapter 136: The Future

"Raichu, Electric Terrain, Magnet Rise!"

Volkner's voice rang out as Raichu quickly reacted, precisely spreading the power of Electric Terrain across the entire battlefield. It then used Magnet Rise to hover in the air.

Having learned his lesson from Flint's earlier battle, Volkner wouldn't easily let Machamp capitalize on its speed advantage.

Watching the airborne Raichu, Ron suddenly thought, It seems like every Pokémon can fly these days. Even Kyogre, a Water-type Legendary, can manage it, right, Groudon?

Groudon: " ..."

Machamp, now facing an aerial opponent, couldn't help but feel a bit stifled.

Despite all the effort it had put into mastering Moonwalk, it couldn't use it in front of so many spectators. For Ron, Persian, and the others' safety, Machamp endured its frustration, waiting silently for Ron's next command.

"Machamp, use Bulk Up!"

Upon hearing Ron's command, Machamp immediately used Bulk Up to raise its Attack and Defense stats. This move was one of the TMs Ron had specifically bought for it.

Though Machamp had only undergone basic training with the move, it could already use it effectively in battle, albeit less skillfully than Focus Energy.

"Raichu, use Thunder to interrupt it!"

Volkner's command echoed as Raichu surrounded itself with massive currents of electricity, aiming directly at Machamp.

With Electric Terrain and Magnet Rise active, Raichu's control over Thunder was enhanced, making it easier to hit its target.

Looking at Ron and Machamp, Volkner was curious—without their speed advantage, how would they fight back?

"Machamp, move away from your position and use Stone Edge as stepping stones to climb up!"

Ron had anticipated that Machamp would be an easy target while using Bulk Up. Thus, the move was nothing more than bait to lure Volkner into an attack.

Using Shave, Machamp swiftly dodged Raichu's Thunder.

The long-standing bond between Ron and Machamp meant the Pokémon instantly understood Ron's true intention.

Activating Stone Edge, Machamp shaped the sharp rocks into stepping stones, propelling itself upward using Moonwalk.

"Raichu, Thunder Wave Net!"

Startled by Ron's unconventional strategy, Volkner hurriedly issued a command. Raichu infused its Thunder into an electrified net and cast it toward Machamp.

"Machamp, Aura Sphere! Maintain Stone Edge while executing Shave—Thunder Blade!"

To protect Machamp's ascent using Moonwalk, Ron had no choice but to use Stone Edge as a diversion.

However, the combination of Stone Edge and Moonwalk rapidly drained Machamp's stamina, forcing Ron to aim for a swift victory.

With Aura Sphere fired, the attack pierced through Raichu's Thunder Wave Net.

Standing on the flying stones, Machamp's approach lacked the finesse of a sword-wielding master but was still effective—it could fly, after all.

Executing Shave—Thunder Blade, Machamp surged forward at incredible speed, charging toward Raichu.

"Raichu, lock onto Machamp's position with electromagnetic force and use Thunder Tail!"

First activating Iron Tail, Raichu immediately channeled the power of Thunderbolt into its tail.

Had Raichu been stronger, it would have infused Thunder's energy instead, creating the complete version of Thunder Tail.

Its electrified tail flickered brilliantly as it swung fiercely, clashing directly with Machamp's attack.

The collision of their moves showed Machamp's combination to be more powerful, but Raichu's higher level, even with Machamp's Black Belt boost, maintained the upper hand.

Shockwaves rippled across the battlefield, scattering faint electrical currents.

Machamp's upward momentum waned, and it began to fall toward the ground. Raichu, forced back by the impact, adjusted its balance using electromagnetic force.

"Machamp, Stone Edge! Go after it again!"

Once Machamp landed, Ron's next command followed instantly.

Launching another series of sharp stones, Machamp used them as stepping stones once more, rushing toward the airborne Raichu.

"Raichu, Thunder Wave Net!"

Without hesitation, Volkner had Raichu use Thunder Wave Net again while preparing for a counterattack.

This strategy would exhaust Machamp's stamina with its constant exertion. Soon, Machamp would be at a disadvantage.

Even if Ron changed his approach, Raichu's aerial advantage gave Volkner ample time to respond.

"Machamp, Aura Sphere!"

The vivid blue Aura Sphere flew out, quickly dismantling Raichu's electrified net.

"Now, Machamp, charge!"

Leaping off the Stone Edge platforms, Machamp darted toward Raichu without using any additional moves.

"Raichu, use Thunderbolt to destroy the rocks beneath it!"

Rather than risking an attack, Volkner opted to shatter Machamp's Stone Edge platforms, halting its advance.

"Machamp, leap and use Stone Edge for a charge!"

Like Raichu, Ron refrained from initiating a direct assault.

At this moment, whoever attacked first risked leaving an opening that the opponent could exploit. It became a test of patience between Ron and Volkner.

Electric currents and shattered rocks continued to rain down as the gap between Machamp and Raichu narrowed.

"Machamp, Shave—Thunder Slash!"

Ron's voice suddenly broke the silence, disrupting the delicate balance between the two.

With an unstoppable momentum, Machamp leaped and turned into a streak of lightning aimed at Raichu.

"Now, Raichu, Substitute, then Thunder Tail!"

Right before Machamp's attack landed, Volkner's voice rang out, and a Raichu-shaped decoy absorbed Machamp's blow.

Seizing the moment Machamp threw its punch, Raichu appeared behind it, preparing to unleash Thunder Tail.

"You fell for it! Machamp, Shave—Thunder Blade!"

A smile crept across Ron's face as he shouted the command.

"What?!"

Volkner's exclamation came too late to change the outcome.

After Shave—Thunder Slash missed, Machamp used its newly learned Substitute to block Raichu's counterattack.

Exploiting Raichu's moment of vulnerability, Machamp appeared behind it, executing Shave—Thunder Blade and striking Raichu's small frame.

Boom!

The sound of impact echoed as Raichu crashed into the ground, leaving a crater.

Landing gently, Machamp's labored breathing filled the battlefield.

After enduring a grueling battle, compounded by Substitute's stamina drain, even Machamp struggled to stay standing.

Raichu, having taken the full force of Machamp's blow, was unable to continue fighting.

"That was an incredible battle. I lost," Volkner admitted, recalling Raichu into its Poké Ball.

"Volkner," Flint said softly, watching Ron approach his Machamp, "if this kid keeps growing like this, he might truly possess the strength to rival that individual someday."
