Pokémon: A Trainer Who Masters the Six Powers from the Start

Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Gaining Fame Again?

After bidding farewell to Serizawa, Ron decided to focus on training with his Pokémon without overthinking things.

Since acquiring the Breathing Method, Ron hadn't fully practiced it yet. This wasn't due to a lack of effort but rather the method's strict prerequisites, which required his physical condition to reach a certain threshold.

Given his current physical state, Ron still had some way to go before meeting the standard for practicing the breathing technique.

Determined to begin his training and eventually master the Six Powers, Ron had significantly increased the intensity of his regimen.

Thanks to his Fighting Aura, Ron was able to endure the pain and push his training limits indefinitely.

The grueling yet fulfilling training continued until noon. Just as Ron finished his lunch, Serizawa hurriedly returned, excitement radiating from his face.

"Great news! The captain agreed and has submitted your proposal to the higher-ups," Serizawa exclaimed breathlessly.

"If this plan succeeds, it will revolutionize how we Rangers operate. No longer will we solely fight against Pokémon hunters while overlooking the wild Pokémon in the forests. We may even take steps to protect them rather than guarding against them."

"By building stronger relationships with wild Pokémon and helping them grow, we'll work together to protect their habitats. Not only will this make it easier to combat Pokémon hunters, but it will also reduce Ranger casualties and allow more resources to focus on Pokémon protection!"

"Ron, your idea is absolutely brilliant!"

Serizawa's enthusiastic words left Ron a bit stunned. What he'd meant as a simple gesture to help the Primeapes in the forest had somehow snowballed into a proposal to reform the entire Ranger system.

"Well, it's not that big of a deal," Ron replied modestly. "No need to get so worked up. Whether it succeeds is another matter entirely. Also, there's no need to be so formal with me—just talk casually."

Although Ron wasn't after credit, he felt it was better to claim the idea as his own. This way, should any future complications arise, he could take responsibility rather than letting some other Ranger claim the credit and possibly become corrupt in protecting their reputation.

"All right, I understand," Serizawa replied after hesitating for a moment, nodding in agreement under Ron's serious gaze.

"That's more like it. We're friends—no need for formalities," Ron said with a grin. "I'll leave the follow-up to you guys. I need to get back to guiding my Machamp and Primeape through their battles."

Ron firmly believed that specialized tasks were best handled by experts. He'd only offered the suggestion—it was up to the Rangers to figure out how to build trust with wild Pokémon, distinguish Rangers and Trainers from Pokémon hunters, and establish cooperative relationships.

What Ron needed to do now was focus on strengthening himself as quickly as possible.

"I promise to take care of the rest," Serizawa assured him. "We'll make this forest the first pilot area and pave the way for a new era for Rangers!"

Serizawa, assuming Ron intended to remain humble, was once again awestruck by his noble character. Without further delay, Serizawa began surveying the area and awaited the arrival of other Rangers to discuss the next steps.

To Ron's surprise, the Rangers' higher-ups approved using the Primeape Forest as a test site to evaluate the proposal's effectiveness before considering widespread implementation.

Until concrete results were achieved, the Rangers wouldn't publicize Ron's involvement, though his idea was already being circulated internally to inspire frontline Rangers.

The Rangers' leadership even awarded Ron 10,000 contribution points, both as a token of recognition and to encourage others to propose similar initiatives.

This gesture further cemented Ron's reputation among the Rangers in Kanto, earning him respect and admiration.

Even Matthew and Lugo congratulated Ron, albeit with a hint of playful jealousy. They lamented not having thought of the idea earlier.

Over the next few days, Ron collaborated with Captain Yusef of the Vermilion City Rangers to present the proposal to the Primeapes.

Thanks to their prior interactions and the demonstration of the Pokéblock's benefits, the plan proceeded smoothly. The next challenge would be training the Primeapes to distinguish between friend and foe.

Though this would likely take a long time, the prospect of raising a growing, self-sustaining force excited the Rangers. Even if the Primeapes could only protect their forest and its surroundings, it was seen as a significant achievement.

The ultimate goal was to prove that any wild Pokémon could protect their home.

In the future, perhaps wild Pokémon would apprehend hunters without the need for Rangers to intervene.

For now, however, the Rangers kept things simple: ensuring wild Pokémon could assist in battles, relay messages, or support operations during missions.

After helping Yusef with initial negotiations, Ron set off toward Vermilion City.

Serizawa accompanied him for miles before reluctantly turning back at Ron's insistence. Meanwhile, Machamp discreetly noted Serizawa's demeanor, planning to monitor Ron's interactions with similar men in the future.

Unlike battles with Primeape, this development filled Machamp with excitement at discovering a new way to influence Ron.

Kirlia glanced at Machamp curiously but decided to stay quiet, respecting its gesture for secrecy.

Unaware of the Pokémon's antics, Ron studied his map, contemplating his next move. He decided to stop at a nearby town renowned for its fish to resupply before heading to Vermilion City.

With the prospect of finding excellent ingredients, Ron couldn't help but feel excited about the upcoming stop.
