"A-Ash... is Ash okay?" Misty asked with a trembling voice, unable to look at the scene before her.
"He's fine! Ash is completely okay!" Although Brock had witnessed the entire confrontation, he was still shaken. Ash had been reckless, but he also seemed justifiably angry.
Tyra and his gang, who had arrived from behind, were stunned by what they had just witnessed. They had always been intimidated by Mars and his group, believing motorcycle riders to be inherently more powerful than themselves.
But seeing this scene today left them shocked. They couldn't imagine having the nerve to challenge a motorcycle head-on with just a bicycle.
Even though they hadn't actually collided, Mars had clearly lost in terms of courage—and for bosozoku, losing face through cowardice was the ultimate humiliation.
"Brother Mars!!"
After recovering from their surprise, Mars's gang rushed to check on their leader. Misty slowly lowered her hands after hearing Brock's reassurance.
Seeing that Ash was unharmed, she stopped her bike and stood beside him. She glanced toward Mars and breathed a sigh of relief, then looked at the wreckage—his motorcycle had been completely smashed. She shuddered to think what might have happened if Mars had actually collided with Ash.
"Let's go," Ash said, ignoring them completely as he motioned to Misty and Brock.
"Wait, you brat—stop right there!" Just as they were about to leave, Mars got up with his gang's help, glaring fiercely at Ash.
"Haven't you embarrassed yourself enough?" Ash looked back coldly.
"Shut up! I challenge you to a duel!" Mars, feeling humiliated, refused to let Ash leave. He pulled out a Poké Ball.
In this world, Trainers came from all walks of life, so it wasn't surprising that a bosozoku would have Pokémon.
"You want a Pokémon battle? I'd be happy to oblige." Ash set his bicycle down and turned to face Mars.
"Ash, we're in a hurry!" Brock reminded him with concern.
"It's fine—I'll make this quick. If we don't resolve this now, they won't let us leave easily." Ash took out a Poké Ball and looked ahead.
Hearing Ash's reasoning, Brock didn't argue further. It was true that they had provoked these guys, and now they needed to deal with the consequences.
"You little punk, how dare you underestimate me! Go, Machoke! Teach this guy a lesson!"
Mars threw his Poké Ball, and a Pokémon with gray skin materialized before them—Machoke, the evolved form of Machop.
Machoke's body structure resembled a human's, with powerful muscles covering its entire frame. It wore a golden power-limit belt around its waist and what looked like black tights on its lower body. Its bulging muscles gave off an intimidating presence.
"Charmeleon, I choose you!" Ash tossed his Poké Ball forward, and Charmeleon landed on the ground.
"Machoke, use Knock Off!"
Mars immediately went on the offensive. Machoke charged forward as commanded, its palm glowing white as it aimed directly at Charmeleon.
"Block it!" Instead of dodging the fierce attack, Ash ordered Charmeleon to meet it head-on.
BOOM!!!
As Machoke's palm came down, Charmeleon braced himself. Though much shorter than Machoke, and at an apparent disadvantage in terms of raw strength, Charmeleon caught Machoke's palm with his claws, instantly immobilizing the Fighting-type's arm. Machoke's expression showed shock.
"What?!" Mars was equally surprised. His Machoke was powerful, yet its attack had been stopped so easily.
Charmeleon slowly raised his head, smirking at the Machoke before him. The Fighting-type's confidence visibly wavered. Seeing this, Ash assessed his opponent's strength and realized there wasn't much to worry about.
"Flamethrower!"
With a wave of his hand, Ash gave the command. Charmeleon's eyes flashed as he opened his mouth wide. A stream of intense flames erupted, hitting Machoke at point-blank range.
Machoke screamed as the burst of fire pushed him backward uncontrollably before he crashed heavily to the ground.
"Machoke, what are you doing? Get up now!"
"Thunder Punch!" Ash pressed his advantage, giving Charmeleon no time to rest. The Fire-type rushed forward with impressive speed, leaping high into the air.
As Charmeleon descended, he clenched his claws into a fist that crackled with electricity. The attack slammed hard into Machoke's chest with a resounding impact. Electrical energy enveloped Machoke's body, causing him to scream in pain. There was a flash and smoke filled the area.
When the smoke cleared, Charmeleon had safely landed back on his feet, while Machoke lay unconscious on the ground, his body singed from the electrical attack.
"What?!"
Mars and his gang stared in disbelief. Ash's Charmeleon had defeated Mars's Machoke in just two moves. They looked at Ash and his Pokémon with newfound fear.
Mars had never expected a random kid to be so powerful. His face contorted with rage and humiliation.
"What are you all standing around for? Attack together!"
Mars knew he couldn't win alone and urged his gang to join forces. The other bosozoku members hesitated, still shocked by Ash's strength.
"He's just one person! Don't be afraid—get him!"
Mars was so enraged that he shouted frantically, not even noticing that Misty and Brock were beside Ash, ready to support him.
His gang members hadn't noticed either. They reasoned that even against a strong Trainer, they could win with superior numbers. Slowly, they began to encircle Ash, who remained unfazed.
"Don't even think about it!"
Just then, a voice called out, and a large group of figures approached on bicycles from behind.
