Chapter 95: Chapter 95
Chapter Ninety-Five: Just because you're a teacher doesn't mean you can do whatever you want~
"Don't tell me you've started picking on kids now too."
Along with the voice came a soft jingling sound.
That bell sound... Why did it sound so familiar? There was something annoyingly familiar about it, like it was burned into his DNA.
No way. Is that guy really showing up now?
"Nii...san?"
Behind his mask, Kakashi's face stiffened. He slowly turned his head, sounding a bit awkward.
When did he steal the bells?
Kakashi didn't remember his big brother having *that* kind of skill.
To take the bells without him—an elite jonin—even noticing?
That shouldn't even be possible.
"Whoa~ That's rare. You actually called me *nii-san*."
Hatake Satoru was wearing a black shirt and had a skewer of dango in his mouth. Aside from the two bells spinning around on his fingers, he really looked like an ordinary tourist.
"Satoru-nii!"
Naruto shook the water off his head like a big golden retriever and jumped up excitedly.
Sasuke looked up fast and saw Satoru's smiling face. For once, the gloomy look on Sasuke's face actually cracked a little.
He thought this guy, just like his own brother, would never come back.
While Kakashi was distracted, Sasuke used the chance to twist his arms free and roll out from under him.
Kakashi casually jumped to the side. He was more surprised that Hatake Satoru had come back than anything else.
It wasn't like he'd actually been taken down by a kid.
"Come on, we're still in front of the students—don't throw me under the bus like this."
Kakashi frowned in frustration and reached out his hand toward Hatake Satoru.
Even after all these years, Kakashi was still a few centimeters shorter than Hatake Satoru.
"Hold up~ You gotta wait your turn to say hi."
Hatake Satoru made a "pause" gesture at the two kids who were about to run over to him, then casually tossed a paper bag their way.
"There's some tasty stuff in there~ Share it, okay?"
"He probably didn't let you have lunch, right?"
Naruto and Sasuke froze for a second before catching the bag Hatake Satoru had thrown.
Just as Kakashi reached out to snatch the bells from Hatake Satoru, that calm face suddenly lit up with a cocky grin, and Satoru tossed the bells high into the air.
"Nope~ If you can take them from me, they're yours."
Then two silver blurs shot up into the sky, fighting for the bells midair.
Naruto and Sasuke saw the two grown-ups start fighting and decided it had nothing to do with them.
After sharing some dumplings with Sakura, the three of them sat to the side and watched the adults go at it.
Sakura held her dumpling and stared in confusion.
Who *was* this guy that showed up out of nowhere?
And why were Naruto and Sasuke just sitting there watching? Shouldn't they be helping their teacher?
"Do those two… know each other?"
All Sakura could tell was that both of them had something covering their faces—one covered the top half, the other covered the bottom.
But lots of people wear masks, right? It's a weird coincidence, but it didn't prove anything.
Besides, she had never seen this guy around the village before.
"Don't worry, Sakura, that guy's Kakashi-sensei's older brother!"
"He's been traveling outside the village for years, so we haven't seen him in a long time!"
Naruto explained while chewing on his dumpling.
"Huh? That guy's Kakashi-sensei's brother?"
Sakura blinked and looked up at Hatake Satoru, who only showed half his face but still looked seriously good-looking.
Wait, is there something weird with their ages?
From the looks of it, Hatake Satoru seemed younger, right?
Kakashi-sensei already gave off full-on "uncle" vibes.
Just as Kakashi's fingers were about to touch the bells, they suddenly vanished right in front of his eyes.
"What the—?!"
His pupils shrank in shock as he quickly looked down.
The bells were now resting in Hatake Satoru's hand, and he was pulling a silly face at Kakashi with the other hand on his face.
Every move, every word—this was without a doubt his annoying older brother.
But what was up with that strange ability?
As far as Kakashi knew, Hatake Satoru had been a completely normal guy with no chakra at all.
Did he end up learning some hidden power during his travels?
"Oooh? What was that line again?"
··························
"If you don't come at me like you're ready to kill, you'll never get the bells."
Hatake Satoru looked as calm as ever, like everything was going just how he planned.
Kakashi frowned slightly, then suddenly lashed out with a kick.
"When exactly did you start eavesdropping?!"
"Is this your idea of a big brother bonus for my first lesson with students?"
Over the years, Kakashi had mellowed out. He wasn't as stubborn as he was as a kid, always hung up on what happened with his dad.
Ever since he left the Anbu and became a regular jonin, he'd become a lot more easygoing.
"Showing up this late… don't you think someone should teach you a lesson?"
"Being a teacher doesn't mean you get to do whatever you want, you know~"
... ... .....
Hatake Satoru reached out and grabbed Kakashi's ankle, yanking hard to pull him down.
"Poof!"
A puff of white smoke burst out, and all that was left in Hatake Satoru's hand was a piece of wood.
He spun around almost instantly, raising the hand holding the bell.
Kakashi lunged from behind but missed completely.
Satoru grabbed his arm and pulled him down to the ground with a solid tug.
Kakashi just flopped down like a dead fish. At that point, struggling would only make things worse.
Thankfully, no real weapons had been used, so it wasn't *that* embarrassing.
Hatake Satoru stood nearby, happily twirling the two bells in his hand.
The match was clearly over.
"He already took down Kakashi-sensei!?"
Sakura was still chewing on her dango. How did this end so fast?
The same Kakashi-sensei who had run circles around the three of them just got knocked down that easily?
"Satoru-nii is actually this strong!?"
Naruto's eyes went wide, staring at Hatake Satoru in disbelief.
He had always kind of felt like Satoru was strong, but he really had just seen him as a regular teacher.
"So... that guy's not just about teleporting after all."
Sasuke stared at the two in front of him, thinking it over.
To drop Kakashi that quickly, whether they were holding back or not, Hatake Satoru might really be on a whole different level.
