Players Invade Cyberpunk

Chapter 51: Butterfly Effect and Captain America

"Are you planning to take action against the Stone Ridge Mountain tunnel?"

Panam was taken aback when she heard this news, let alone Sol.

If it were someone else, he might have thought the person was being reckless and courting death.

That tunnel is the main smuggling route of the Night Wanderers in Night City—easy to defend and hard to attack, with over a hundred guards on duty daily. The environment inside the tunnel is complex, and attacking from various dark alleys is akin to street fighting, with countless land mines and hidden sentries.

Unless you make several times the sacrifices and forcefully break in at any cost, there's no way to take it down.

Even if you stuffed dozens of Adcardo's men in, they wouldn't be able to fill that mass grave.

The Chaotic Blade Association's Night Wanderers have, after all, been operating in Night City for decades, deeply rooted in the Evil Land for a reason.

However, Lin Miao didn't care. The two sides were already mortal enemies. Once the Chaotic Blade Association's reinforcements arrived, along with the local forces of the Night Wanderers, he would either die or be severely injured.

So instead of waiting for death, it's better to take the initiative, strike first, and catch them off guard.

He's confident about taking the Stone Ridge Mountain tunnel, not even Jesus could stop him.

"It's impolite not to reciprocate. So many of my people died; they owe us an explanation."

Lin Miao leaned against the car door, with Lucy lying on his shoulder.

If someone else had said this, Lucy would silently watch them go to their death, and if it were someone she knew well, she might advise them against it.

But Lin Miao said he could do it, and Lucy believed he definitely would.

"I think you should see a neurologist; you're looking for death."

Panam shook her head. Even she, a typical combat faction of Adcardo, thought Lin Miao was insane and couldn't agree with his plan.

She couldn't let Adcardo's people follow Lin Miao to their deaths. This wasn't the same as hijacking an oil truck.

However, Sol, who usually disliked fighting to the death, thought they should at least hear what Lin Miao had to say.

He knew Lin Miao was someone with long-term plans and wouldn't recklessly seek death from the Night Wanderers.

If Adcardo planned to cooperate with him, then the Night Wanderers, the second-largest dark force in Evil Land, must be suppressed for them to have room to maneuver.

What? You ask who's the most formidable in Evil Land?

Damn, of course, military technology, not me!

"First, tell us your reasons and thoughts so Adcardo can decide whether to accompany you on this endeavor."

"Reasons?"

Lin Miao snapped his fingers, and the truck's side door unfolded. Eight players in exoskeletons jumped out of the door, immediately attracting the attention of everyone in the camp.

Compared to the day they left Adcardo, the exoskeletons reappearing here were dramatically different.

With a simple military green paint job, hefty metal skeletons, and a flashlight mounted on the left side of the helmet.

Every step they took resonated with the sound of moving metal framework and hydraulic pistons, giving a sense of immense power.

Especially the four heavy exoskeletons among them, armored with more metal plates, each holding a massive alloy shield.

Even without any firearms, everyone present felt a visual oppression from them.

This is something conventional prosthetics couldn't achieve.

And inside the truck, besides the eight exoskeletons, there were a dozen rocket launchers and explosives.

Just throw them out like this, and it would feel perfectly fitting to call them a military technology task force.

People only snapped back to reality thanks to the distinctive black hole logo on the truck, realizing they hadn't mistaken.

The players weren't new here; they even knew two or three people at Adcardo and greeted them.

Lin Miao took out a chip and handed it to Sol and Panam, which contained all the information Pandora had gathered from the Night Wanderers' minds, crafted into a display animation by Lucy.

"My people will handle everything regarding the street fighting; Adcardo doesn't need to assist."

The Night Wanderers' tunnel stronghold connected both east and west sides of Stone Ridge Mountain. Although it was the shortest section of the mountain, it was still 1.7 kilometers long, with many auxiliary tunnels interspersed, resembling leaf veins.

But the tunnel's widest part was only a large hollow area of a few hundred square meters in the middle; other sections barely reached ten meters wide, hardly enough for many people to stand side by side.

This applies to both the players and the Night Wanderers.

Lin Miao trusted his players, as they had formed teams of four, battling through alleys against the Phoenix Club and Tiger Claw Gang, having lost over forty times in these narrow settings.

This was experience forged through sacrifices.

Bringing in Adcardo's people might actually become a hindrance.

"Then why come to us? Are you just informing us you're preparing for something major?"

"And do you plan to rely solely on these toys to fight the Night Wanderers? It's not going to work; give up the idea."

Panam was displeased by Lin Miao's words,

Very displeased!

Damn, just the other day, she called these things junk, only to be proven wrong today.

At least, the aesthetic wasn't bad.

"No, I'll need your help for this battle. Without Adcardo's assistance, my people certainly couldn't forcefully seize it. It's just that we don't need your help for the street fighting."

"As usual, I'll call Mann's team to help."

Hearing this, Panam felt Lin Miao's words were much more agreeable.

"Then why did you say the tunnel would be handled entirely by you? What do we do?"

"Of course, to fight the Night Wanderers."

Amidst the puzzled look from the others, Lin Miao brought up the model from the data chip, presenting it to all three.
