Chapter 455: The Plan (4K)

When people are at a loss for words, they really do laugh out loud.

Li Cheng didn't gnash his teeth, nor did he fly into a rage. Instead, he calmly walked out of the office and instructed the smart AI vending machine to contact those customers who were at the top of the appointment list for transformation surgery as per the schedule.

The "turnover rate" in the operating room was very high. Customers came with their own transplant parts, lay down, and within minutes the assembly was complete,

"Next."

Li Cheng called without looking up,

A newbie named [Embered Feather Rising] with an empty sleeve below his right shoulder pushed the door open and walked into the operating room. Upon seeing Li Cheng holding a showerhead and vigorously spraying disinfectant on the operating table, he instinctively swallowed, "Gulp."

"Don't be nervous. You're here to connect the warrior's arm, right?"

Li Cheng put down the showerhead and said casually, "Take it out."

Embered Feather Rising hesitated as he took out a fresh arm. Compared to his own slender frame, the arm was unusually brawny, full of scars and calluses. It was obviously from someone experienced with swords and guns.

"Why is there still a trace of radiation dust?"

Li Cheng took the arm and washed it under the showerhead, casually asking, "Where did you get this arm?"

"From a script task, a friend gave it to me."

As he mentioned this, a complex expression appeared on Embered Feather Rising's face. Bitterly, he said, "It was a post-apocalyptic wasteland world akin to 'Mad Max', 'Beidou Divine Fist', 'Radiation'. After nuclear war, the old order collapsed.

Survivors struggled to endure amidst radiation rain, mutant monsters, cannibal cults, and oppressive gangs.

My task was to survive for seven days. I just needed to hide somewhere, but I was accidentally attacked by a mutant Komodo dragon lizard and almost got bitten to death.

Fortunately, a bounty hunter saved me. In exchange for a PSP game console and a solar charging board, I asked him to take me to the nearest town to treat my wound infection.

Just after cleaning my wound, the town was raided by a gang. The bounty hunter and I accepted the mayor's commission to rescue the civilians abducted by the gang,

and followed their tracks to find a deranged scientist attempting to mass-produce mutant warriors from newborns to become the king of the wasteland. In the ruins of what was once a university, we fought fiercely with the scientist's army of biological warriors and ultimately exterminated them all.

I survived, but the bounty hunter who saved me multiple times had his body largely incinerated by a laser gun.

I carried his arm, along with hundreds of abducted newborns, back to the town.

And I left the townspeople with a bullet and artillery ammunition production line, an oxidized graphene purifier able to filter radiation-contaminated water, and radiation-resistant magic mushrooms capable of degrading radioactive materials in the soil. I'm sure they can stubbornly and tenaciously rebuild human civilization.

As for me, I have to go on living... for both his sake and mine...."

Embered Feather Rising lay on the operating table, complex and emotional in tone. In the real world, he was a solitary recluse, with few confidants, yet it was in the script world flooded with radioactive water that he found sincere friendship.

"Slurp."

A strange sound came from the corner of the operating room. Embered Feather Rising sat up, only to see that at some point Li Cheng had made himself a cup of instant noodles. At this moment, he was holding the bounty hunter's robust arm,

and using the tendons to skillfully control the arm's fingers, gripping chopsticks to pick up noodles and eat.

'Damn, you asked me to narrate my story, and you go and eat instant noodles? Why are you using my buddy's hand like that? Put it down now!'

Embered Feather Rising's eyelid twitched violently. If it weren't for the fact that this [Star-casting Anvil] shop owner was so "renowned" on the player forums, he would've jumped up to snatch back the arm from Li Cheng.

"Are you done slurping?"

Li Cheng chewed on noodles while sipping noodle soup, then leisurely walked over, and with a click, attached the wasteland hunter's arm.

Unlike GS Biotechnology's transplants, the [Assembled Puppet·Modified] was a perfect assembly.

After attaching the arm, there was not a single instance of rejection, and it could perfectly harness the arm's muscle memory and martial arts skills.

"Is it... done?"

Embered Feather Rising uncertainly jumped off the bed, looking at the only evidence left of his good friend in the world, his eyes inadvertently growing moist. The sturdy right arm, as if aware of its purpose, gently lifted to wipe away his tears and patted his left shoulder.

"See the vending machine on your way out to get an invoice."

Li Cheng said nonchalantly, "Also, it seems like you've drunk too much radiation water and might have kidney failure. Want me to get you a new pair?"

As he casually opened a drawer of the fridge, inside were neatly arranged glass jars, each floating with a fresh kidney in the light blue preservation fluid.

"Or maybe a new set of lungs, intestines, liver, heart..."

Li Cheng pulled open drawer after drawer, filled with fresh organs like a terrifying scene from a Myanmar North underground clinic or a Los Angeles dock warehouse, causing Embered Feather Rising's scalp to tingle and his speech to falter.

"I... I have other things, got to go. Thanks, boss."

The newbie fled the operating room in a panic, leaving Li Cheng blinking in puzzlement.

These organs were not sourced from humans but were the magical beast innards he had bought at a low price from the [Thousand Throats Beast Guild].

The Thousand Throats Beast Guild specialized in breeding, nurturing, and training magical beasts, and often produced fantastical creatures that were congenitally defective and non-viable.

Their organs were somewhat insufficient for players above Lv10, but they were more than enough for newbies below Lv10. Perfectly matched to eliminate rejection reactions with the [Assembled Puppet·Modified].

Things like the heart of a Fenrir Giant Wolf, the lungs of a Hell Three-headed Dog, literally a heart of a wolf and lungs of a dog.
