The sun was rising, casting a bluish light outside the window.
It was the second morning since entering the hotel on Christmas Eve. Inside the top-floor penthouse, provided by the hotel manager’s consideration, where not even an ant dared to trespass, the air was thick with a pungent pheromone scent, as if 2-star manifested individuals had held a wild party all night.
“Huh…”
Saliva dripped from Eunhong’s mouth. He had lost count of how many times he had fainted and regained consciousness.
“Ah, no, Jae-ha. Please.”
Jaeha started moving again. With tireless stamina, he lifted and lowered Eunhong, moving him freely. Eunhong was being tossed about like a powerless blade of grass in a threshing machine.
“Hng, ugh, Jaeha, sl-slowly, ah!”
“Hah…”
“St-stop… Enough now… Hic! Huu!”
Despite Eunhong’s tearful pleas, it was useless. Jaeha had lost his reason long ago. He tightly embraced the wailing Eunhong and pushed himself in deeply. Eunhong’s whole body convulsed uncontrollably at the heat filling his insides. He sobbed loudly, gasping for breath.
“…Bunhong.”
Exhausted from crying, Eunhong finally went limp. Jaeha lifted Eunhong’s drooping head and pushed his tongue into the unconscious mouth.
As if regretting the fading pheromones, he sucked up the saliva pooled in Eunhong’s mouth. He also licked the reddened, swollen eyes from crying so much and kissed the now cooled white cheeks countless times.
By the time Eunhong’s seizure due to the abnormal manifestation had somewhat subsided and Jaeha’s mind had returned to normal, the clock’s hour hand had made at least three rotations.
Jaeha cradled Eunhong’s limp body. Despite carefully supporting his neck and trying to give him water, Eunhong showed no signs of regaining consciousness. Unable to swallow properly, most of the water spilled out the side of his mouth.
The bed was already a mess, soaked with various bodily fluids, so a little spilled water made no difference. But dehydration was another matter. After two nights of exertion, their bodies must be parched. Jaeha held water in his own mouth and carefully pushed it into Eunhong’s throat.
As the rosy lips moved slightly to swallow the water, Jaeha felt a surge of impulse again. He frowned and clicked his tongue. Facing his beast-like instincts made him deeply ashamed of his past self who had mocked other alphas.
Looking down at the completely exhausted Eunhong, Jaeha felt profound self-loathing. The once white skin was now covered in mottled marks, with sticky fluids clinging here and there. Come to think of it, he had been so out of his mind that he hadn’t used a condom. Jaeha ran his hand through his hair roughly, letting out a long sigh.
“You’ve gone mad, Lee Jaeha. You really went all the way.”
A storm of belated guilt swept over him. The thought of dealing with the aftermath was overwhelming. He should prepare to get hit a few times when Eunhong wakes up…
If Eunhong were to draw the line again, mentioning friendship after coming this far, he didn’t know how he might react. He should say it was Eunhong who seduced him first, that he should take responsibility for enticing him…. Jaeha continued these idle thoughts while anxiously biting his lower lip.
Separately from that.
Eunhong, now calm and peaceful, looked truly beautiful. His sleeping form, as if dead to the world, was angelic. The sweet breath escaping from below his philtrum was intoxicating. The pheromones gently flowing out with each of Eunhong’s breaths seemed to have been created just for him. It was overwhelmingly enchanting.
In the past days when he had desired Eunhong as a beta, he had imagined such a scenario. Some days he desperately wished for Eunhong to be an omega, and other days he hoped Eunhong would remain a beta, avoiding his own ferocious nature.
Jaeha didn’t even realize his lips were curling up. He couldn’t stop smiling as he looked at Eunhong. The complicated worries of the past and futile imaginings faded powerlessly in the face of the reality before him.
He wet a towel with warm water and carefully wiped Eunhong’s body. Occasionally losing his mind to the scent of skin and gently biting. He felt like he had wasted all those years not experiencing this taste, this scent, this touch.
Eunhong stirred from the constant touching. It was too much to clean thoroughly inside. Jaeha decided to let Eunhong sleep for now, planning to either bathe him or feed him when he woke up, or perhaps get hit. He rose to his feet.
He moved Eunhong to the clean adjacent bed and covered him with a blanket, then rolled up the fluid-soaked sheets and tossed them aside. While gathering clothes to send for laundry, his attention was drawn to a fallen phone.
Suddenly, he thought of Professor Choi, who hadn’t contacted or shown up. Jaeha picked up the dead phone and looked around for a charger, finally finding what he wanted in the inner room. He quietly closed the door and waited for the phone to charge.
After some time, the small dead machine finally lit up and came to life. Jaeha ignored the flood of missed calls and messages, seeking out Professor Choi first. After a couple of rings, Professor Choi answered with a nonchalant voice, as if he had been waiting for the call, which made Jaeha grit his teeth.
“How do you plan to explain yourself?”
– I apologize for not responding to the call as I was on a business trip, CEO Lee.
“A business trip? For someone without a proper job…”
– Your words are too harsh. You were quiet and gave no news for two days, so I assumed there was no problem… Is Eunhong sleeping?
“…Ha.”
This old snake… Even if confronted face-to-face, he would have lied without blinking an eye. Jaeha rubbed his flushed face with a dry hand. He couldn’t control his expression even at the mere mention of Eunhong by someone else. It was severe.
– Make sure he gets plenty of fluids, dress him warmly, and take him home. He’s probably sleeping now, so move slowly. I’ll come to your place for an examination in the evening.
“…Professor Choi.”
– Yes. Go ahead.
“This incident with Eunhong… Don’t let it reach grandfather’s ears at home. Absolutely not.”
– If the Chairman finds out, he’ll treat Eunhong extremely well. What are you worried about?
“You know the old man’s temperament, don’t you?”
– …Are you still anxious?
“Don’t try to read my mind unnecessarily and just promise me.”
– …Alright, for now.
Jaeha ended the call with Professor Choi and approached the window. The roof of Seoul Art Hall was visible nearby. Everything was white with the snow that had fallen for two days. It had become a Christmas he would never forget for the rest of his life.
Jaeha understood why Professor Choi had hesitated to answer. For his grandfather, there could be no better news than his grandson, who had avoided omegas almost to the point of obsession, finally meeting an omega. Asking Professor Choi, who had known his grandfather for a lifetime, to keep quiet was like asking him to deceive an anxious friend.
But Eunhong’s wishes came first. Their relationship had changed from when Eunhong was a beta. His grandfather, who had wielded money and power all his life, would try to possess and control Eunhong without even realizing it. He couldn’t let Eunhong get entangled and hurt in his complicated life without knowing anything.
Jaeha, who had been quietly looking out, ran his hand through his hair as if he had made a decision. For now…
“I need to feed him some restorative food. Fainting after just that much…”
He put the phone on the wireless charger to finish charging and opened the door to leave. He thought he’d at least order room service for now. His body, mixed with Eunhong’s pheromones, was in better condition than ever before and he felt hungry.
As he walked towards the bedroom area to find the room phone, Jaeha raised his head, sensing something off.
“…Ban Eunhong?”
Eunhong, whom he had carefully laid on the bed, was gone. Thinking he might have already woken up, Jaeha checked both inner bathrooms, his face gradually turning pale.
“…Eunhong? Stop joking and come out.”
It didn’t take long to search the entire spacious penthouse. His heart started pounding. As he tried to gather his thoughts with a bewildered expression, his phone rang from the inner room.
“Hello? Eunhong?”
He answered without thinking to check the number, but it was Secretary Kim.
– CEO, I’m calling after receiving word from Professor Choi. I wanted to inform you about handling the photo exposure issue at the Art Hall…
Jaeha couldn’t hear a word of what Secretary Kim was saying. Cold sweat trickled down his back. His frantically roving eyes caught sight of Eunhong’s missing clothes and the half-open front door.
– …have been taken care of.
“Ha! Shit!”
– …CEO?
“Find Ban Eunhong. Now.”
– Pardon?
“Request cooperation from the hotel. Tell them to check the CCTV for a man in his 20s who left the penthouse, find out where he went, immediately!”
As he threw off his robe and hurriedly put on his own clothes, he suddenly realized that Eunhong had disappeared without even an overcoat. In this weather, with his body covered in pheromones… and not long after his manifestation fever had subsided.
Jaeha felt like he was going crazy and clenched his molars so hard they made a grinding sound. As he rushed out, kicking the door open, he cursed uncharacteristically.
“Eunhong… Where on earth did you disappear to…”
