Pillar of Yita

Chapter 29: Chapter 9: Dragon Knight, Attack_2

The earth continued to roar, the ground cracked and sank, and countless rocks seemed to come to life, chasing each other through the streets.

Most people were already unstable on their feet, only KUN stood upright in place, reaching out to lend a hand to Black Tea. "Thank you," Black Tea adjusted his glasses, looking at him with admiration.

Guzhou and Qiaoli came over with Kaka, separating from the crowd. He recognized KUN immediately and froze instinctively. It wasn't until Qiaoli nudged him from behind that he came to his senses and asked, "What exactly happened?"

KUN turned back, a few players from the Silver Forest Spear came up with someone.

Guzhou recognized the man as the captain of the third group of the Silver Forest Spear.

KUN looked at that man and said, "Speak."

"I have done nothing to betray the Guild," the man, probably in his early twenties, with eyebrows sharp as swords and handsome features, glanced at Guzhou and replied, "Even if there were, it would only harm the interests of rival Guilds."

Guzhou's eyebrows twitched.

He turned to KUN. "What exactly is going on?"

KUN didn't rush to answer. Calmly observing the distance, he said to that man, "Violating the Guild's established principles is the same thing, especially when you utilized the Guild's resources as well. However, I will try to persuade the club not to trouble you... but the only person for whom you would go to such lengths must be her, right?"

The man fell silent. "Thanks, but I owe her a favor."

"Is it really because of a favor?"

The man looked away, no longer speaking.

KUN withdrew his gaze and asked dissatisfiedly, "So, you don't even have that much courage?"

"What's the use?" the man gave a bitter smile, "Knowing it's impossible."

"Wait," Guzhou interjected, "I don't understand what you are talking about."

"Witch of the Sea, Miya," KUN answered.

"Witch of the Sea, Miya?" Guzhou was incredulous. "Didn't she retire?"

"It was you who claimed she retired, and only your Guild knows the grievances between her and you," KUN said calmly.

The ground shook again, KUN extended his hand for Black Tea to hold onto him. The latter showed a grateful expression. "With our people's help, Miya has infiltrated your alliance and got involved in this mission."

Guzhou instinctively believed what KUN said. The Descendants of Flor and the Rainbow Alliance were opposed to each other, but minor and major domestic guilds within each side were intricately connected, and everyone tacitly installed spies in the other, which was a known fact.

Moreover, for someone as reputed as KUN, there was no need to lie, as it would be a loss for him.

But the resources used to involve Miya in this task made him instantly think about who the suspected target might be. He decided he would investigate thoroughly who was involved behind this line once he returned.

Of course, the priority was to solve the current problem.

"Where exactly is she now?" Guzhou asked, "How do we unite?"

KUN shook his head. "I don't plan to unite with you, just preparing to evacuate this area, and just informing you in advance."

"Informing?" Guzhou couldn't help but smile bitterly, "Do you think we still have the capacity to counterattack?"

"It's better to be safe," KUN replied, "A commander of an army dares to take risks, but does not take them lightly."

Guzhou was stunned by this response.

After a while, he finally set aside thoughts of superiority and inferiority, looking at this man seriously and nodded, "Thank you, I'll remember this. But are you giving up, KUN?"

"Too little chance, better to cut losses early."

Guzhou pondered for a second, nodded, and turned back to Qiaoli, "Then we retreat too, let her keep that thing for a while." His tone was still so confident and defiant.

But Qiaoli gave him a look and gently nodded.

Just then, a scruffy-haired young man suddenly let out a surprised murmur.

"Eh?"

Hearing his voice, Guzhou then remembered, they still had a little loose end to deal with. Especially after other matters were settled, this issue became pressing.

He turned around, signaling to several people accompanying him.

Meanwhile, KUN was passing by that man. "After this, leave the Silver Forest Spear," he stopped for a moment, quietly saying to the other, "If you like her, why don't you find her, isn't that the least courage a man should have?"

"Captain..."

"Don't call me Captain, I don't have such subordinates who can't separate public from private," KUN's bright gaze met the man's: "From now on, we'll only have the relationship of friends."

Saying this, he walked past.

Black Tea followed, curiously glancing at the man through his glasses.

The trembling of the ground had become even more intense.

Even many ancient trees in the forest were uprooted, and the ruins changed completely. The ground significantly sank, many buildings tilted, rocks tumbled, beams collapsed—a scene of apocalyptic destruction.

Fang Hong had to carefully move through the shaking ruins, feeling something massive approaching underground, getting closer and closer. This made him slightly anxious, hastening his steps.

He didn't know if it was that giant construct insect, but how could the other create such a disturbance?

Or was there something else beneath the ground?

He looked up, seeing the people from Silver Forest Spear retreating. They moved like a silver tide away from the ruins, revealing the mottled red underneath, abandoning the plan to continue attacking the Jiefulite Red Cloak Team.
