Chapter 63: Advanced Summoning Part 2
['Lisham (★★★)' has returned to the Goddesses' embrace! His fighting spirit will be remembered forever.]
[Cause of death – Suicide due to stress.]
As Lisham's headless body fell to the ground, the fairy spoke out.
[Don't blame me. It was self-defense. I've warned you to stop fighting.]
"Kyaa!!!"
The first floor residents who were watching from the sideline were turned into a frenzy upon the sudden death.
The fairy just killed a hero inside the lobby. This would be the first of such occurrence.
"The fairy killed that guy! C-can she do that?!"
Trudy asked frantically.
"She did say it was self-defense."
I told her.
"Still though, to think she could kill such a man so easily like that."
Shanny commented.
"There must be a reason as to why she's in charge of this place, after all."
Jonah stated.
Disregarding the justification of the fairy's act on ending Lisham's life, it was a fact that a 3-star hero just died.
We were now down one valuable member who could help us climb the tower.
And the reason this unfortunate loss happened in the first place was because of one particular hero.
"Hahaha! Serves him right! A thief like him has no place among true warriors like me!"
Jyrgil shouted as he stared at Lisham's corpse.
It was around that moment Lisham's head and body disappeared into light and vanished. I could only guess the forged land's power was involved in that process.
"Now that the trash is gone, we can finally get things properly going."
He turned to the warden.
"Hey, little fairy, make that master send me to battle again! Harder one this time!"
[D-did you just order me?! Do you want to die just like that guy earlier?!]
"What's this now? I'm not trying to harm you. I'm just asking you to send me to battle again."
Jyrgil countered.
Despite his wild attitude, he had a way with argument.
[Urghh, you really want a taste of my punch, huh? Then have some of th--]
"Well, well, well! Aren't you having a great first day?"
Before the fairy could unleash her anger, I joined in the conversation while descending to the first floor square.
"And what's that supposed to mean, lady?"
Jyrgil asked. He sensed the sarcasm in my remark.
"Ever since coming here, not only you got the warden upset, you also had a man killed."
I told him.
"Heh! I didn't kill him. That man fell to his own death."
"The reason why he was riled up in the first place was because you provoked him."
"Hey, he provoked me first!"
Jyrgil snapped back at me. His hand was tightly gripping his axe.
"That guy only pointed out how much of a danger you posed to your own allies during battle."
I turned to the other three that went with him to the trial.
"Was he wrong to point that out?"
I asked them.
"No. He was actually right. This axe man really was out of control in battle."
Zecht replied to me.
"He kept shoving us out of the way so he could take on the monsters himself."
Norn nodded.
"It was quite chaotic. Someone could've gotten hurt."
Darius joined them.
With their agreement, I turned back to Jyrgil.
"You see? That man made a valid point. But instead of respecting his opinion, you immediately belittled his way of fighting."
"And why should I care about what he said anyway?"
Jyrgil asked back.
"You probably didn't notice because you were so stuck up in your own ways, but master did not send you alone in the trial earlier. You can't keep being selfish and ignore others who fought beside you."
"Ha! Screw them! I don't need allies!"
"That's not how we do things here. You need to learn how to work together."
The giant wild man simply laughed at my words and raised his axe toward me.
"And why do I have to listen to you in the first place? What're you gonna do if I don't want to cooperate?"
I nodded to his words.
"I see. You believe I have no power backing my words. That none of us here can subdue you to obey our will."
"Why should a lion do what the deer says? When the lion could just rip the deer's throat out."
"Then would you agree that the powerful shall rule?"
I asked him.
"Of course. The strong shall dictate the weak. Not the other way around."
I smiled upon his statement.
"Then if we can prove that you're not the strongest here, will you do what we say? Of course, if you are indeed the strongest here, it is us who will listen to you."
I proposed to him.
"Very well! So, how are we gonna do this? Will you all gang up together and fight me all at once? You're welcome to try."
Jyrgil said while readying his axe. Bloodlust was oozing from his pores.
"Goodness, no! A simple one on one battle would suffice."
I said.
Jyrgil nodded to my proposal.
"Pity. But it's a deal. So, is it you I'm facing? You seem to be a mage. I've always wanted to fight one before."
I chuckled upon his assumption.
"Oh I'm not needed for this experiment. There already exists a warrior who is an appropriate match against you."
"Is that so? They must be quite a formidable one if they're a match for me. Who is it then? Summon this warrior of yours."
Upon his request I looked up to the second floor square, toward the three pairs of eyes gazing below.
"Trudy, ready your weapons. You'll be fighting this man."
