Phoenix Reborn In One Piece

Chapter 288: Chapter 288: Fight to the Death!

Now in her hybrid form, Kuina's eyes turned cold. She gripped her sword tightly, ready to strike.

"One Sword Style: Shining Moon—Heaven Slash!"

Kuina looked up at the old man in the sky and shouted sharply.

The moment her voice dropped, her long sword, gleaming with icy light, swung upward toward the sky. A slash shaped like a crescent moon shot out like lightning, heading straight for the giant elephant-leg shockwave in the air.

The speed of the slash was so fast it looked like it had torn right through space itself.

"Boom!!!"

A loud explosion echoed across the battlefield, the deafening noise shaking the air.

*Crack crack crack~~~*

Under the force of the blast, the ground split open, and nearby buildings began to collapse one after another.

Two powerful attacks clashed in midair, but after just a few seconds, Kuina's strike broke through the old man's giant elephant-leg attack like it was nothing.

The terrifying energy burst apart into countless fragments, scattering through the air like a dazzling firework.

"What?!"

The one-armed old man's eyes widened in shock.

He quickly twisted his body in the air, but still crashed down like a cannonball.

With a loud *thud*, he hit the ground and landed on one knee, staring seriously in Kuina's direction.

Then, he slowly stood up and started walking toward her.

"Hmph, is that all you've got, old man?" Kuina said with a slight smirk, her tone full of disdain.

"Damn it!"

The old man trembled with rage at her taunt.

"Elephant Fist!!!"

He swung his right arm hard, and a powerful force burst out in an instant.

In the next second, a huge phantom of an elephant's leg shot out from his right arm, roaring toward Kuina with incredible strength.

The attack looked like it could crush everything in its path, and the air around it twisted and churned from the pressure.

But even in the face of such a fierce attack, Kuina stayed calm and steady.

She gripped the Wado Ichimonji tightly in both hands, its blade shining coldly as her eyes locked onto the incoming elephant leg.

Just as the giant phantom drew close, Kuina swung her sword without hesitation!

A sharp slicing sound tore through the air as Wado Ichimonji drew a bright arc, slashing toward the huge phantom with unstoppable force.

The moment the two collided, the sound was loud enough to shake the whole area.

The shockwave shattered nearby buildings, wiping the street clean—now all that remained was a thick cloud of dust.

Kuina stood her ground, completely unmoved.

She raised her sword again and slashed with full strength, sending another fierce attack flying straight at the old man.

His eyes filled with fear.

After using two powerful moves back to back, he was already breathing hard. Sweat poured down his face in thick drops.

He was just too old—he couldn't keep up with Kuina's stamina anymore.

Her slash was about to land.

The old man had no time to counter with another strong move, so he quickly covered his body with powerful Armament Haki.

Then he brought out his two toughest tusks to block the incoming slash!

*Boom!!!*

*Crack crack crack~~~*

Kuina's blade came down hard, and the tusks took the hit. The air around them cracked and splintered from the pressure!

But strangely, the blade and the tusks didn't actually touch.

It was like a ball of terrifying energy had formed between the two attacks, trapped and squeezed tighter and tighter.

*Rumble!!!*

The energy burst like a huge bomb, blowing a massive hole in the ground.

The one-armed old man, who was closest, was sent flying backward from the blast!

"You've already lost, old man!"

Kuina didn't pause for even a second. She bent her knees slightly, then pushed off with all her strength—her whole body shot forward like a bolt of lightning, racing straight toward him.

Seeing this—

The one-armed old man struggled to get up from the ground. Blood was dripping from the corner of his mouth, but the fighting spirit in his eyes was still burning strong.

"Come on!"

He shouted and charged at Kuina once again.

*Boom!*

*Boom boom boom!!!*

The two figures clashed again, moving as fast as lightning. Each hit between them echoed like thunder through the air.

Kuina's sword strikes were fierce and powerful. Every swing seemed like it could tear the world apart.

The one-armed old man, using his years of battle experience and strong skills, kept dodging and blocking Kuina's attacks, looking for chances to strike back.

They went back and forth, evenly matched. Neither was willing to give in.

The others, watching from a distance, looked serious. Kuina didn't look very old, but her strength was far beyond what most people could imagine.

At this point, the Dream Team no longer worried about her safety.

As the fight went on, Kuina slowly started to take the upper hand. Her sword strikes became faster and heavier, making it harder and harder for the old man to defend.

"Why doesn't he give up?" Daisy looked confused.

Everyone could see it now — the old man was just too old. He couldn't keep fighting like this for long. If Kuina kept pressing the attack, she would definitely win.

But the one-armed old man didn't show any sign of giving up. In fact, he seemed even more excited.

"This is his last chance~"

"Maybe he knows he's going to lose, but he just wants to shine as bright as he can... one last time," Hogg said, watching the old man in the fight.

No one replied, but deep down, they all agreed with Hogg.

Because of the energy blasts, people from the town had already run up the nearby hills to watch from a safe distance.

No one from Red Adventure Island's town dared to go near the battlefield. Just hearing the sounds of the fight was shocking enough for them.

"Damn…"

"Kuina's sword skills are crazy strong. But that old guy with one arm is amazing too!"

"Who would've thought... After living here for so long, that quiet old man would be this powerful?"

"Yeah~~~"

"Maybe that's what real strength looks like. They don't show off, but when they meet someone strong enough, they finally get serious."

"I think so too."

"Same here!"

None of the people on the island seemed to be thinking about what would happen to their homes after the fight. Right now, they were just excitedly talking about the battle.

But someone had finally figured out who the one-armed old man really was.

And they contacted the Marines!
