Peter WHY...

Chapter 34: Chapter 34

Peter Parker crouched on the icy rooftop in Queens, his red and black suit stark against the snowy January dusk, his spider-sense humming as he watched the jagged crack in the sky pulse with an eerie green light.

"Ahh, what fresh hell is this now ?"

Green Goblin swooped out on his glider, his cackling grin menacing, followed by another Spider-Man—clad in a sharp, unfamiliar red-and-blue suit—swinging in pursuit.

There it is, Peter thought, his heart pounding with a mix of adrenaline and certainty. Straight out of Ultimate Spider-Man—Goblin's DNA hunt across dimensions. Gotta play this smart and get him out of here.

He stood, stepping into the open, his silhouette bold against the rooftop's edge. "Hey, glider guy!" he shouted, his voice cutting through the wind. "Over here—you want a Spider-Man? Come and get me!" Goblin's head snapped toward him, his green eyes glinting at the suited figure, while the alternate Spider-Man paused mid-swing, turning toward the call.

Got their attention, Peter thought, firing a web line and swinging off the roof, heading for the outskirts of the city. Can't let this mess spill into Queens—too many people. Time to take it to the edge.

Peter swung hard, his webs slicing through the snowy air as he veered west, the city's lights fading into the distance. Green Goblin followed, his glider roaring as he banked after Peter, locked on the red-and-black target, oblivious to the identity beneath the mask. The other Spider-Man trailed close, his movements mirroring Peter's with eerie precision.

Perfect—both on me, Peter thought, his mind sharp. I know this script—Goblin's after my blood, just like in the show. Gotta keep him away from civilians till we sort this out.

The urban sprawl thinned, giving way to the rugged outskirts, and Peter landed near a forest area—likely Van Cortlandt Park—its snow-heavy trees stretching into the early January gloom of 2003. His boots crunched on the icy ground as he skidded to a halt, turning to face his pursuers. Goblin hovered above, his glider humming menacingly, while the alternate Spider-Man dropped beside Peter, landing in a crouch. The three formed a tense standoff, snow swirling around them, the air thick with anticipation.

"Well, well, a prime catch!" Green Goblin rasped, his voice a guttural sneer as he circled on his glider, his clawed hands gripping the controls. "Two Spiders—makes my hunt richer! Hand over your blood, web-head, or I'll carve it out!"

Peter squared his shoulders, his stance firm. "Blood, huh? What's your deal, glider guy?" he shot back, keeping his tone sharp. "You some kinda vampire wannabe?" Right on script—Ultimate Goblin's DNA grab, he thought, his mind racing. He's here for my blood sample, just like he hit the others. Good thing I've seen this episode—keeps me one step ahead.

The alternate Spider-Man stepped forward, his voice steady and clear. "He's not from your Earth," he said, turning to Peter. "I'm Peter Parker—Spider-Man from Earth-1610. This psycho's Green Goblin, and he's been hopping dimensions, collecting blood samples from every Spider-Man he can find. Wants to juice himself up, make himself stronger than any of us."

Peter's eyes flickered beneath his mask, his thoughts whirring with recognition. Another Peter Parker—Earth-1610, huh? Straight out of Ultimate Spider-Man, chasing Goblin through the multiverse. "Okay, uh, Peter Two?" he said aloud, his tone casual but alert as he glanced at the suited figure beside him. "I'm Peter Parker—this Earth's Spider-Man. So, he's grabbing blood from Spiders everywhere? That's his big plan?" Knew it—Goblin's after my DNA to power up, just like he did with Miles and the others in the show. This Peter's here to stop him—fits the plot perfectly.

"Exactly," the alternate Peter replied, shifting his stance as he tracked Goblin's glider. "He hit my Earth first—took some of my blood before I followed him through that portal up there. He's using something—Siege Perilous, I think—lets him jump realities. You're his next target."

Green Goblin cackled, banking his glider closer, snow swirling in his wake. "Smart little spiders! But you're too late—your blood's mine! —I'll take it and become unstoppable!"

"Not if I've got anything to say about it," Peter (MC) snapped, his mind racing with strategy. Siege Perilous—check. Blood samples—check. He's following the show's playbook—good thing I've got the rewind in my head. "You're nuts, glider guy—think you can just swoop in and snag whatever you want? Not happening."

The alternate Peter nodded, his tone firm. "He's been at this for days—hit other Earths, other Spiders. I've been chasing him, trying to shut this down. He's got my blood already—can't let him take yours, or he'll be too strong to stop."

Peter tensed, his thoughts locking into place. He's got Earth-1610 Peter's blood—now he wants mine. Classic Goblin move from the show—collecting Spider-DNA like trading cards. Gotta keep him talking, figure out our next play. "Two against one, huh?" he said aloud, his voice steady. "Bad day for you, greenie."

The forest loomed behind them, its snow-laden branches casting jagged shadows in the fading light, the standoff crackling with tension. Peter (MC) and the alternate Peter stood side by side, facing the hovering Goblin, the crack in the sky still pulsing faintly overhead—a silent herald of the multiversal clash unfolding in the snowy outskirts of New York.
