Chapter 1014: Behold
Without saying a word, Loimos merely raised one hand signalling for Maliah to let go of who she had caught.
"What a shame…" the assassin had been looking forward to disemboweling someone.
The living who just thought it to be wise to attempt a sneak attack of the pure undead of all corpses, fell to the ground, swiftly landing on their two feet, and as that occurred, two large, rabbit-like ears came flapping down.
"Beast Sorceress, Ooaluz, wife of the now blessed Toby" in that unfeeling tone of his, he simply enunciated the beast worshipper's identity, his tall figure casting a dark shadow onto the significantly shorter woman.
Ooaluz looked very much like the humanoid version of a Jokra now, even with the large, droopy ears, one could tell that she was a rabbit by taking a look at her face or feet, indeed, years prior, when she had met the otherworlder, she had not looked nearly as advanced in her communion, one might say that Toby caused her to experience a side of the Jokra that she had not considered before then.
However…
"The Jokra are not supposed to care so much about their partner" he added, and then, Solzmimi placed a hand on the beast worshipper's shoulder, channelling some emerald light to soothe Ooaluz's turbulent emotions.
"I am certain that you are aware that a good beats worshipper is meant to combine the traits of a beast and with themselves, not truly become the beast they commune with" she said, Loimos obviously knew this, for some reason, he had just tried to ignite the beast sorceress's ire, such an odd move naturally spelled disaster.
Loimos did not respond to the sun ancestor and instead clearly turned his head, the slits of his helm facing the Jokra-like woman.
"Ooaluz, you hate me because I killed Toby, that is a misunderstanding, I have helped him ascend to a higher plane"
"With all due respect, I don't think that is something most people will accept at face value" Solzmimi chimed in before the skeleton began to walk to the side.
"Follow me" he said it like he always spoke, but the livings felt like they could not go against the demand, marching behind him obediently.
Of course, the sun ancestor could ignore such a simple suggestion if she really wanted to, but saw no reason to do so.
The pure undead took them to the place where he killed Toby after the otherworlder had exhausted his worth, although the bespectacled young man had had access to rather handy abilities thanks to his special system as well as various kinds of items on top of probably receiving a boost to the normally not-so interesting system skills, he had been weak.
Not just in front of Loimos, but weak in general, he was one who needed to make use of resourcefulness and cunning to fight, two things that fell completely flat in front of the pure undead.
As they arrived here, Maliah and One, who had no idea what Loimos was up to, glanced at one another, the rotten skeleton did not do things without purpose, so what was happening here should be of some significance, but they failed to see what was so important about either Ooaluz or Toby that warranted him to take personal action.
Perhaps it wasn't of dreadful importance, but having no urgent mission at the moment, Loimos simply decided to do something simpler?
"Bear witness, amongst the aspects of Death, the aspects represent the Pale Lady, there is Compassion and Love to be found, which is to be extended even to those who are to be executed without mercy" festering death force suddenly shot out from him, and in an instant, like the web of a monstrously precise spider, the death force stretched, taking hold of many remnants, and from just this, using his strong connection to Death herself and to all of the realms under her dominion, Loimos brought Toby back as an undead.
He exerted no influence whatsoever on how he should turn out as an undead, so it was by chance, or perhaps the Pale Lady's will, that he looked the way he now did.
Overall, Toby looked a lot like he had been in life, only that his skin had turned stone-grey, and his veins had become a dim green- A dim emerald green, in fact.
His attire and glasses had been manifested alongside it all, and the young man looked utterly confused as he laid on his knees, feeling rather certain that Loimos had just sliced his head off with just a swing of his palm, he knew it because he had seen his headless body just before everything had gone dark.
And yet, for some reason, he could see clearly again, think again, everything felt as though it had lasted a mere second.
"Toby!" before the otherworlder could think too deeply about everything, Ooaluz slammed into him, hugging him so tightly that it felt like his bones were going to break.
"Ooaluz? What…" and only then did he notice Loimos just standing there, perfectly still, but being that Toby had not only become an undead, but become one directly thanks to Loimos's intervention, the pure undead was able to swiftly induce the effects of the aspects of Peace into the otherworlder, causing Toby to be abnormally calm about it.
"You are now an undead, Toby, for her sake, give up all thoughts on helping the living, the Emerald Realm has been defeated, there is nothing you can do"
"Just enjoy the eternity of unbridled joy that awaits you by her side" and with these few words, Loimos once again put his hands on the shoulders of his fellow undeads, and the trio just vanished from where they were standing, leaving Solzmimi to realise what the skeleton had just done.
That action would definitely make the transition from life to death even smoother as everyone would be able to see that a lost loved one had been brought back through the powers of undeath, and that the one who had been 'blessed' did not behave any differently from the way they used to.
The sun ancestor rubbed the bridge of her nose before quietly chuckling to herself, looking at the reunited couple, those two had been quite the sensation back then, so she remembered it perfectly.
"Alright kids, remember not to bother the neighbours with your activities alright?" and then, she too vanished from where she was standing.
"Huh… Ooaluz?"
"Yes?"
"How long have I been gone for exactly?"
"A few years-" she understated "-Quite… Quite a lot of things have happened, should I fill you in right now, will you do it to me first?"
