Chapter 4: Unknown situation
snap!
"huh! what? ugh!"
Unwilling to listen to what the guy had to say, Nora snapped her fingers, and suddenly, out of the shadows of the hallway came many men dressed in black, who held the guy down while forcing him to release Nora.
They were all burly men of the same or even larger build than Cassian and the subdued guy, except for one woman who approached Nora directly.
"At your service, miss."
She greeted Nora with great respect. Although she was relatively tall compared to the average woman and to Nora, she was dwarfed by so many tall, burly men.
But she seemed to be part of the group of men, as she was also wearing a black suit and glasses, despite it being nighttime.
"Alright, Julieth, as always, take that guy away and give him what he deserves. Make sure he doesn't dare come near me or Cassy."
"Yes, miss, I'll treat him like the rest. You'll never see him again."
" ... Uhmm, Julieth..., just to clarify, what do you do with them?"
Nora gave the order decisively, but she was suddenly curious. She hadn't thought much about it before, but now she wondered what had given Julieth that tone of assurance, and what was the fate of those men when she gave that order.
Julieth looked at her without understanding, as if wondering why she was asking that question only now, but she said nothing and simply replied. It was not her place to question her mistress.
"As always, we bury them up to their necks and then throw various types of insects at them, such as spiders and scorpions. We also play children's cartoons in front of them and leave them like that until morning. Finally, we give them a warning, and they don't come back."
"Ugh! How vicious. And why cartoons for children? Why are you doing something so twisted, Julieth?"
"Hmm... Miss, you were the one who told us to do that from the beginning. And remember that you were very specific about that method and program."
"Me? Ah!.... Now that I think about it, it's been very effective. How clever of me... Okay, go ahead. Do it to this guy too. Also, add things like worms or snakes and change the program to bad romance movies. He interrupted something very important, and I'm upset."
"Yes, ma'am."
"What's going on, Nora? What is this?"
"And you stop calling me that. Only my family, my friends, and Cassy can do that, you know that Julieth just for that, add frogs! It's going too far, but she deserves it."
"Anything else, miss?"
"Yes. Tell the researchers that aphrodisiac didn't work. Cassy had no reaction. She drank most of the beers and nothing."
Today was a very frustrating night for Nora. Nothing went right. She understood that Cassian wasn't normal, and his body definitely wasn't either... but he could get drunk, which meant he could be affected by similar substances.
And yet, no aphrodisiac seemed to work. To the point that she started using stronger and stronger ones.
"Huh? Miss, but the researchers said it was even stronger than what's sold illegally on the black market. Are you sure he's not impotent?"
"No, he's not. I found used tissues in the trash. I checked it myself, and so did you guys, huehue, and the amount wasn't small either, he's very vigorous."
"...."
Julieth, remembering the samples that had indeed resulted in a report indicating that the milky liquid belonged to a young, healthy man with no diseases, fell silent.
As her mistress said, Cassian didn't seem to have a problem with that issue, and he even seemed very active, albeit alone.
But putting that aside, it was the first time she had heard that her mistress had checked it herself, which resulted in several images of that method of checking appearing in her mind, which generated more questions.
"Look again, even if you have to look to the orient, bring me something that works,"
"yes miss, I will use the family contacts".
yes, she had many questions, But it was better not to ask. Julieth pretended she hadn't heard anything and pushed the images out of her mind.
"Now the most important thing, everything is ready for tomorrow? I want perfection.
"Yes, miss, everything from the clothes to the restaurant, hotel, and everything else."
"Good! If possible, bring the aphrodisiac tomorrow, okay? That's all."
"Yes, miss, have a good night."
"I don't think so, haah~ whatever, just go."
Nora went back inside, saying goodbye to Julieth and her guards. She didn't know what to do. She was still angry and wanted a drink, but she remembered that the beers in the fridge were adulterated.
That only made her angry again. In the end, she just sat down and put on something to watch on TV until she got sleepy while eating pineapple yogurt, but she wasn't enjoying it at all.
"It tastes good, But this love is not enough! before ...!"
Remembering again those big fingers of Cassian's, which touched her without any consideration and did whatever they wanted with her, they felt imposing and a little rough, touching her most sensitive parts and...
"No, damn it!, that idiot Cassy got me hot, damn idiot, you'll pay for this later."
She stopped just as her hands were about to reach her crotch, but it was because there was something important to get before starting.
She finished the yogurt and listened carefully to her surroundings. She couldn't hear the sound of the shower, which meant he had already showered and gone to his room.
She went to the bathroom for a moment and then came out, then went to the room she had taken over, ignoring Cassian's complaints.
As for what she took, it was the least compensation she deserved for being left in that state while he went off to play video games.
...
.
RUMBLE! Bang! RUMBLE... CRASH! KRA-KRAK!! RUMBLE!
Cassian was sleeping peacefully until suddenly a burst of violent sounds woke him from his sleep, at the same time as a strange sensation that he did not understand ran through his body.
"Huh? Wha? What's going on!?.... An earthquake!!?"
For a moment, he didn't understand anything. Everything was shaking. When he came to his senses, he realized: yes, it was an earthquake, and a pretty strong one at that.
"Gyaaa! Cassy!"
"Nora?!"
And as he understood what was happening, he heard a scream. It was definitely Nora.
He thought quickly. The earthquake was very strong, and his apartment was on the third floor. He would probably be unharmed even if the building collapsed... but Nora wouldn't.
He had to get her out of there. He couldn't hesitate.
BANG!
He left his room and didn't bother to open the thirteen types of locks: he simply smashed them.
He ran down the hallway and also broke through the door to Nora's room, regardless of whether it was open or closed.
GRRRRAAAHH!
"What the hell is that...?"
For a moment, Cassian stood frozen, unable to comprehend what he was seeing. What he found was not Nora panicking because of the earthquake, but rather an incomprehensible scene.
"Cassy, help me!"
"Huh? Yes, I'm coming!"
What he saw was Nora half-cornered in a corner, facing what looked like a reptile over three meters long, whose enormous jaw was trying to reach her.
The only reason it couldn't was because the creature's body was too big, and its wings—yes, wings, it had no front arms—made it difficult for it to move forward inside the room.
But even without really understanding what was happening, Cassian reacted and ran straight at the creature with the intention of kicking it.
BOOM!
The impact was brutal. Cassian didn't hold back at all and managed to send the beast, which hadn't even noticed him, flying through the huge hole, which the creature had obviously used to enter.
...What the hell...? Did I really feel that? Was it real?
Even now, Cassian was still processing what had just happened, as it was so unreal that he had trouble accepting it.
He peered through the hole in the wall just to confirm, although the hole itself was proof of this reality.
"Damn it!"
When he peered through, he saw the description of what hell was. Leaving aside the tremors that continued to shake everything.
Looking out onto the street, he was met with a scene of absolute chaos: more creatures, all of different species that were both familiar and unfamiliar to him.
The reason was that although he could recognize some of them, they had characteristics and sizes that made him doubt whether they were of that species, and leaving aside others, he did not even know how to describe them, other than as a mixture of several things.
They flew or roamed the streets. People fled, but they were hunted down mercilessly, filling the surroundings with cries of despair and staining the pavement red.
"What kind of madness is this?"
"Ugh! It's eating that person's head!"
This once again baffled Cassian, and Nora, who had also come closer to watch, was cautiously peeking out from behind him.
GRRRRAAAHH!
That growl snapped them both out of their state of bewilderment.
"shit!, more are coming!"
Cassian saw a group of three creatures similar to the one he had just faced heading toward his building.
This was no time to stand still. He picked up Nora and carried her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and ran outside, away from this place.
BANG! Bang! Bang!
He heard impacts behind him, but he didn't stop. He headed straight for the exit.
"Hey, do you know what's going on?!"
As they fled, Cassian questioned Nora, to reaffirm the situation they were in.
"You're asking me? How the hell would I know? And carry me like a princess!"
"It's more efficient this way! I have one hand free!"
"...Damn... That emphatic refusal... Those realistic muscles... So it's not a dream..."
"Focus. This is an unfamiliar situation. We have to get out of here."
"Yes, I know... But it's just hard to process. I wake up and the first thing I see is a reptile's head trying to eat me."
"...Are you really such a deep sleeper that you only woke up when the creature was right in front of you?"
"Shut up!. I need to sleep. How do you think I maintain this beauty?"
"Wait!...Be quiet."
As they argued, Cassian went downstairs to the second floor, but stopped. At the end of the hallway, there was a creature.
This creature hadn't noticed them because it had its head stuck in one of the rooms.
That beast was blocking the way down. He cursed the damn design of the building and its structure without decent emergency routes... But that, precisely, made him realize something.
And now that he thought about it, he hadn't run into anyone on the way here. Perhaps the others had noticed the presence of beasts lurking around and, even with the risk of collapse, had chosen to lock themselves in their rooms.
It had not been a bad decision but that option was no longer available to them.. His apartment, located at one end of the building, used to have better lighting and a wider view thanks to its side-facing windows—unlike the central units. But now, that same location had become a disadvantage.
In the end, though, no place was completely safe.
"Is it better to go downstairs or stay here? The streets are also full of monsters. What do we do, Nora?"
He asked. His room had been invaded, but going downstairs didn't seem like the best option either.
Cassian had seen many beasts below, roaming the streets as if they owned them.
Right now, they were in the middle of the building. It seemed relatively safe, as long as no flying creature entered or it collapsed.
"Wait, put me down for a moment, Cassy. Let me check the situation."
