People in Dragon Ball! Start With Selecting Super Saiyan 4

Chapter 15: CHAPTER 15

"Yeah, I've played around long enough. Time to settle down and live a normal life."

Android 17 stretched lazily, then gave them a confident grin.

"Alright, I'm heading out."

"Take care of my sister for me! And if you ever mistreat her even if I can't beat you, I'll still try to beat you!"

He chuckled as he lightly punched Linze in the chest, more playful than threatening. Then with a carefree wave, he turned and launched himself into the sky, vanishing with a burst of wind.

"Don't keep looking. He's already gone."

Linze noticed 18 still staring at the sky where her brother disappeared. He gently pulled her into his arms with a faint smile.

To his surprise, Android 18 didn't resist at all this time.

---

Whoosh…

Just as Linze and 18 were preparing to leave, a sharp wind split the air

And Trunks appeared before them in a flash, his expression respectful.

"Mr. Linze, here's a card with one billion zeni. It's got no password. Please take it."

Trunks extended the card with both hands.

"Pretty quick."

Linze smiled, accepting the card without hesitation. He had earned this reward.

"Mr. Linze, can I ask you something?"

Trunks looked a bit hesitant.

"Sure."

Linze handed the card casually to Android 18, then turned toward Trunks with interest.

"Earlier… your hair turned completely red. Was that some form of Super Saiyan?"

It had been nagging at Trunks ever since the fight. Even his father, Vegeta, and Goku had taken notice of it.

"Yes, it is a kind of Super Saiyan transformation."

"But it's not something you need to worry about. Reaching that level isn't easy."

Although Trunks carried Saiyan blood, it wasn't pure.

And to achieve Super Saiyan 4, one needed to possess a tail something crucial for the transformation process.

Gohan, for example, might stand a chance since he was born with a tail and has immense latent power. If he were exposed to Blutz Waves again, he could theoretically achieve that level.

But Trunks and Goten? They were born without tails and lacked the necessary conditions.

That's why, despite their potential, they didn't surpass Gohan's growth curve.

"Uh… I see."

Trunks nodded, a little embarrassed. His curiosity had gotten the better of him, but now he understood the limitations more clearly.

Now that everything with the androids here had been resolved, it was time for him to return to his world.

There, the Androids 17 and 18 still threatened humanity and the Cell from his timeline was likely planning his own ambush.

"I guess I'll head back now."

"Alright. Until next time."

"Yeah. Until next time."

With that, Trunks turned toward the skies. His figure ascended quickly, vanishing into the distance as he returned to his own time.

"Where are we going now?"

Android 18 turned to Linze, her expression calm but clearly uncertain.

After rescuing 17 and witnessing Cell's defeat, it was as if her purpose had vanished for the first time in a long while, she didn't know what came next.

"Shopping. Nonstop, luxurious shopping. Time to experience what it's like to live like Earth's richest man."

Linze squinted mischievously and grinned as he replied to 18.

"Hah… I think I'm pretty good at that."

18 smirked in return, her tone teasing.

With that, the two strolled leisurely toward the bustling heart of West City…

But Linze knew all too well that this brief indulgence would eventually give way to something more a new phase of his training.

Despite mastering Super Saiyan IV, a transformation born from primal Saiyan instincts and Blutz Wave manipulation…

Even someone as powerful as Majin Buu—who would appear seven years later in the original timeline was no longer a threat to him. Linze could likely obliterate him in a single clash now.

However…

The Dragon Ball world was filled with terrifying powerhouses.

Especially in Dragon Ball Super, beings like the twelve Gods of Destruction, the mortal prodigy Jiren, the calm yet unfathomably strong Angels, the enigmatic Grand Priest, and Zeno, the Omni-King capable of erasing entire universes on a whim.

Against opponents like these, Linze knew full well: his current strength wouldn't be enough.

At the very least, by the time Beerus, Universe 7's God of Destruction, awoke from his decades-long slumber, Linze needed power that could rival or exceed that of a deity.

Even if he couldn't surpass Beerus outright, he needed to at least survive a confrontation without being utterly overwhelmed.

Seven or eight years remained before that awakening was likely to occur—ample time, if used wisely.

And beyond raw strength… Linze still had the greatest hidden advantage: the sign-in system that dwelled inside him.

Time flowed like a gentle stream.

Amid peaceful days and quiet nights, three years passed in the blink of an eye.

In that time, Linze advanced steadily finally pushing his Super Saiyan IV state to its full-power form, where every cell in his body surged with primal Saiyan energy.

Now, in the heart of West City, nestled in a sprawling private villa…

A massive training facility stood underground, home to a hyper-gravity chamber capable of 3,000 times Earth's gravity.

"Huff… Huff…"

Inside, Linze stood in his Super Saiyan IV form, his body drenched in sweat, chest rising and falling heavily.

He had just emerged from a grueling 24-hour session inside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber—a place where time flowed differently, allowing extended training within a single day.

His goal: to break past the limits of Super Saiyan IV.

"Damn it… Why can't I break through?"

Frustration lined Linze's face.

For over a year now, he had plateaued at the full-power stage of Super Saiyan IV. No matter how hard he pushed his body and mind, the wall remained unmoved.

He trained with obsession, often pushing himself to exhaustion within the gravity chamber. But something was missing something beyond effort.

"It's like I'm missing a vital spark… Just one step away, and I can't cross it."

He gritted his teeth.

Linze finally realized that pure gravity training, without danger or real combat, had its limits. The Saiyan bloodline responded best in life-or-death battles—when survival instincts activated dormant power.

"I guess… if I want to evolve past this plateau, I need more than just raw training."

"I need a real fight. A battle that forces me to the edge."

And with that thought, Linze's eyes burned with renewed focus.

It was time to seek out worthy opponents and shatter his limits the only way a Saiyan could: through battle.
