Chapter 177: Chapter 177
**Chapter 177: I Can't Guess**
After the Sea God returned to the God Realm from the Douluo Continent, he headed to the residences of the God of Cookery and the Nine-Colored Goddess. Upon seeing him, the two deities hurriedly greeted him.
"Poseidon, why did you rush off earlier? We were eating so well, and you left just as we were about to have a few drinks. That's not right! Sit down and let's continue—no one leaves until we're drunk today!"
In the God Realm, one day equates to a year in the Douluo Mortal Realm. While Zhao Ling's journey had taken more than two days, for the gods, only a dozen minutes had passed. For them, the meal hadn't even concluded, let alone the wine-drinking.
The Sea God chuckled and returned to his seat. "Pour me some wine quickly! Let's drink to our heart's content today."
The God of Cookery grinned and gestured to his wife to serve the Sea God. Curiously, he asked, "You left in such a hurry earlier—what happened? You seem to be in a great mood now."
"Of course!" Poseidon replied smugly. "I've found the successor to my throne! It won't be long before I can leave the Douluo God Realm and head for a broader world. Just thinking about it makes me ecstatic."
"What?! You've already found your successor? How are you this lucky?" The God of Cookery and the Nine-Colored Goddess exchanged envious glances. Finding a successor had proven difficult for them, especially since they wanted a couple or a pair of lovers to inherit their thrones—a challenge that added to the complexity.
Poseidon continued, clearly reveling in their jealousy. "Honestly, I didn't expect to find a successor so easily. I went to the mortal world because I sensed that the Heart of the Sea God, which I'd intentionally left in the Douluo Realm, had chosen a master. Originally, the High Priestess of my Sea God Island didn't have the qualifications to inherit my throne. But when I got there, I discovered her abilities had drastically improved—she's more than qualified now."
Taking a long drink of wine, Poseidon leaned back with a satisfied smile. The thought of leaving the shrinking Douluo God Realm filled him with delight.
"The Douluo God Realm has become unbearably small," he lamented. "It used to be vast, but the war between the Dragon God and the human gods led by the Shura God destroyed countless deities and shrank our world significantly. Now, every god dreams of escaping to a larger realm. Who wouldn't want to leave this tiny place?"
The God of Cookery and the Nine-Colored Goddess sighed in agreement. "Damn, you're so lucky. Why can't my husband and I encounter something this fortunate?" They glared at Poseidon's smug face, resisting the urge to knock him down a peg.
Suddenly, Poseidon's tone shifted as he shared more news. "Oh, by the way, while I was in the mortal world, I encountered someone truly fascinating—a Titled Douluo with a bone age of 31, twin martial souls, and soul power at level 94."
The God of Cookery and the Nine-Colored Goddess were taken aback. "Bone age of 31? Twin martial soul? Soul power at level 94? That's incredible! But surely his martial soul aren't compatible with inheriting our godhood."
The God of Cookery sighed. "Even if they were, we're only second-level gods. His qualifications are too exceptional for us to pass our thrones to him."
Poseidon smirked knowingly. "He's not inheriting your thrones. But let me tell you something—his blood is rich with divine energy, overflowing with power, yet he hasn't inherited any divine throne. I'm certain he's a direct descendant of a god, one whose level is no lower than mine."
"What?!" The God of Food and the Nine-Colored Goddess gasped, their eyes wide. "He's a direct descendant of a god?"
They were stunned by the revelation and struggled to identify the boy's parentage. After all, there were over twenty level-one gods, and if his parents were both deities of that caliber, their identities should have been easier to discern.
The God of Destruction and the God of Life came to mind, but the two were a couple and famously childless, ruling them out. As for the current Gods of Good and Evil, they were still of the first generation—not the couple Zhao Ling knew as Ji Dong and Lie Yan.
Despite racking their brains, the trio couldn't figure out who Zhao Ling's "parents" were. In the end, they decided to stop guessing.
"Forget it," they agreed. "We'll find out eventually. When that kid ascends to godhood and returns to the God Realm, the truth will come to light."
They were confident that someone with Zhao Ling's divine bloodline would have no trouble becoming a god. Whether through creating his own throne or inheriting one, his ascension was inevitable.
The three gods resolved to keep the matter to themselves, vowing to silently observe Zhao Ling's growth. They were also curious to see if his parents would reveal themselves once he ascended.
"Patience is key," they thought, brimming with anticipation. They were certain that the day Zhao Ling entered the God Realm, the revelations would be monumental.
