Chapter 7: Olivia and Evan's eye to eye
Days passed, and Olivia found herself returning to the clinic just to spend time with Max. One evening, while walking him along the lake, she met Evan.He was sitting on a bench, a notebook resting on his lap, lost in thought. His eyes lifted to meet hers as Max bounded toward him, tail wagging furiously. Evan chuckled and petted Max before turning to Olivia.
"I think he likes me," Evan said with a smile. "I've never seen him this friendly."
Olivia returned the smile, her heart racing. "He has a way of connecting with people," she said, her voice soft but filled with warmth. "Please have a sit." Olivia sat on the wooden bench with Evan at the corner and Max in between. "I am Evan, I am writer."
"That's really good,I am Olivia, by the way."
" So where do you stay here, Olivia?".
"I stay in the 7th house street with a grandma. It was decided by the hospital management only."
" Oh, that's good, I live in my ancestral house near the house. Though no one lives here. I came fifteen days before to get some fresh ideas for writing."
"So you are a writer, Evan?that's really nice."
" If you don't mind Olivia, then we can visit a few best places. You haven't seen Mauritius, right?"
" Yaa, I am new here, and I got engaged in health camps from the second day itself, so I couldn't make time, and I don't know anyone here besides grandma. It will be a good idea."
"Okay, let's make a Sunday plan, I guess you will be free on Sundays?"
"Ya definitely." They both exchanged their phone numbers and bid bye after taking Max to the health care centre.
