Chapter 19: Yggdrasil XVII
I started my search for the World Item I needed for my transformation into the World Enemy. The World Item's name was the 'Curse of Jörmungandr.' It could mutate classes.
If a Player had the racial class of "Angel" and used the item, their racial class will be mutated to "Fallen Angel."
I had already spent a week looking for this item, and finally, after 9 days of searching, I found it in a destroyed tomb.
It was like a small golden tree being eaten by a snake with black scales. I collected it and made my way back to the HQ.
While searching for the World Item, I kept looking for the Great Underground Tomb of Nazarick. My clan had 33 Members now, and we were looking for a good base.
Even though I travelled a lot searching for 'Ouroborus,' I never found Nazarick.
But, currently, I was standing in front of it. Large poisonous marches surrounded the magnificent entrance of the Great Underground Tom of Nazarick.
'There you are.'
I memorized the location and went back to Nifelheim to tell my clan mates about it.
~Scene Change~
But before telling them of the Nazarick, I used the 'Curse of Jörmungandr' to mutate my World Champion job class.
I broke it and instantly received a notification.
[World Item 'Curse of Jörmungandr' had been used.]
[Please choose a class to mutate: Arachnoid, ...., Fighter, ...., World Champion.]
[Class mutation successful. World Champion -> World Enemy: ???]
[Please choose a World Enemy for the new class: Five Rainbow Buddas, Eight Dragons, Lords of the Seven Deadly Sins, Devourer of the Nine Worlds, Ten Archangels of the Sephira, Celestial Lord of the Sixth Heaven]
All of these were World Enemies. They were powerful boss monsters hidden deep in the game. Even if 30 level 100 Players went against one of them, the battle's outcome would still be undecided.
I had another idea for a Dragon variant, so I ignored them. After thinking for a bit, I chose Lords of the Seven Deadly Sins: Gluttony.
[World Champion: Helheim -> World Enemy: Lords of the Seven Deadly Sins(Gluttony).]
Simultaneously, I was notified of the success of the class's mutation and another notification.
[Announcement: The World Enemy: Lords of the Seven Sins(Gluttony) have been discovered.]
Every single Player of Yggdrasil received this notification.
'Fancy.'
Despite the entire game now being aware of the discovery of a World Enemy, my identity as the World Enemy remained unknown to everyone.
Because the item was one of the 20 World Items, it disappeared after use. In Yggdrasil, there were 20 World Items known as Twenty.
Twenty was the name of 20 World Items that were unrivalled in terms of power, like, Ouroborus, Five Elements Overcoming, etc.
After closing my console, I checked my status.

...
"HOLY SHITTT!"
Now that was a broken status screen. I wouldn't use this variant if the situation didn't call for it. The reason why I wouldn't use it was; the Player who managed to kill me would receive this job class.
I switched back to my human variant and exited my chambers. I entered the meeting hall where Touch Me; Ulbert were having an argument.
Ulbert: "How can we allow them to walk all over us!"
Touch: "Calm yourself, Ulbert. We were the first who took it from them."
Ulbert: "Oh please, don't give me that crap! We took over that mine fair and square. There wasn't anyone laying ownership on it."
Touch: "We can't know for sure. I think it's best to leave that mine. We could always find a new one."
Ulbert: "Try to understand, Touch. It's not about mine; it's about power. We stay hungry; we devour. Put in the wok, put in the hours and take what's ours."
Touch: "What?"
Ulbert: "I meant to say, Try to understand, Touch. It's not about the mine; it's about pride. How can we represent the Heteromorphs if a tiny Human guild can walk all over us? Tell me?"
Touch Me went silent at this point.
Momonga: 'What is happening here?'
I approached the two and stood beside Touch Me.
Momonga: "Care to share why you two are fighting?"
Ulbert took a deep breath before speaking.
Ulbert: "Do you remember that mine we took control of on the outskirts of Nifelheim?"
A few months ago, Ulbert found a mine on the outskirts of the Nifelheim. It produced Star Silver, a type of Prismatic Ore.
The Prismatic Ores were a series of invaluable minerals; found in various locations in Yggdrasil. They are highly valued in the Yggdrasil market.
Momonga: "Yeah, I remembered that."
Ulbert: "A small guild of Human Players took it from us. Saying that they had already claimed that mine earlier this year."
Momonga: "They may be telling the truth. But, I think it is a bullshit story."
Touch: "You too, Momonga-san?"
Touch Me turned toward me and spoke with a disappointed tone.
Momonga: "Sorry, Touch-san. Personally, I wouldn't take this level of disrespect. If the Human Guild had already claimed the mine, why didn't they contact us when we were clearing it. They should have received the notification of the attack."
Touch Me again went silent.
Momonga: "And we have a clan of 31 level 100 members with 2 World Champions. We have nothing to fear."
At this point, Touch Me spoke.
Touch: "So, what do you think we should do then."
Ulbert: "I say we destroy them."
Momonga: "First, as the clan leader, you should contact them and tell them; we didn't find any sign of ownership while clearing it. So, I think you are lying and should leave our mine or suffer the consequences."
I passed for a bit before speaking again.
Momonga: "And if they still persist about their prior ownership. We take our entire clan and destroy them. Simple, right?"
Touch Me spoke after a few seconds.
Touch Me: "Are you sure this is the best way?"
Momonga: "If you don't think it's a good way, let's call a clan meeting and take votes."
Ulbert: "I agree."
Touch Me: "Sure, let's do that then."
Touch Me contacted every clan member, and a meeting was held pronto. In half an hour, all 33 members gathered in the meeting room. Ulbert explained the situation and told the members about the available options.
Ulbert: "So, this is the situation. Those in favour of letting the Human guild go raise their hands."
Including Touch Me, only 4 members raise their hands. Ulbert then looked toward Touch Me and spoke.
Ulbert: "I guess; that sums it up."
~Sigh~
Touch Me let out a sigh and nodded, then proceeded to contact the Human guild about the mine.
After 10 minutes, he spoke in a disappointed tone.
Touch: "They are unwilling to let go of the mine."
Ulbert: "That decides it, then. When are we attacking them? I say we go right now."
Momonga: "I concur. What do you guys say?"
I turned toward the other clan members. Almost everyone was ready to attack the Human guild right away.
Momonga: "Well, gear up then! We are leaving in an hour."
Everyone: "YEAH!"
~Time Skip~
Outside the cave, most of the members of the clan were present. The only members who were left behind were the Production-Oriented Players.
Momonga: "You guys ready?"
Everyone nodded, and we started our journey toward Midgard, where the Human guild was located.
During our journey toward Midgard, no one was brave enough to mess with us. We had 30 level 100 Players; only an idiot would dare mess with us.
It took us an hour to reach the mine on the outskirts of Nifelheim. According to chief strategist; Punitto Moe, Nishikienrai should go and scout the surroundings of the mine for any Player activity.
Nishikienrai used one of his skills, became invisible, and proceeded to infiltrate the mine. He returned a few minutes later. According to his report, only 2 Players were present in the mines.
Punitto: "If there are only 2 Players, Nishikienrai and Ulbert will infiltrate the mines and kill those Players."
Nishikienrai was the best member of Nine's Own Goal in dealing with overall physical damage. Ulbert cast *Perfect Unknowable* on himself, and both proceeded to infiltrate the mine. After just a minute, they sent us a message to come inside.
After inspecting the mine, we set up quick traps and barriers around the mines to prevent any Player from coming here. Even though we killed both the Players, the mine didn't belong to us yet. Because, Touch Me, in his infinite wisdom, gave the ownership of the mines to the Human guild.
To get the ownership back, we needed to destroy the guild weapon of the Human guild.
Punitto: "Let's leave! We don't want to give them time to prepare themselves."
We left the mines and left, Nifelheim, and entered Midgard. According to Punitto Moe's information, the Human Guild was located on the outskirts of Midgard. We kept travelling for a few minutes before we reached their guild base.
Their guild base was a majestic castle made of white stone. As we approached it, we saw some Players standing outside its entrance.
Punitto: "Momonga, be ready to attack at my signal. Ulbert, only attack if Momonga's spell fails."
I had already switched to my Demon variant. According to Punitto Moe's strategy, Me, Ulbert, Suratan and Touch Me were the vanguard. While Peroroncino would support us from the rearguard, Temperance would cast blessings on us. This was the strategy for the first wave of attacks.
We were here to completely destroy and pillage this Human guild. Ulbert had shared some of the things he wanted to do with the Human Players. Listening to his twisted fantasies; reminded me of Jacob.
Momonga: 'But, are you really my brother, Ulbert?'
I looked toward Ulbert, who was itching for action.
Momonga: 'Only time will tell.'
When we saw the castle, I started casting buffing spells on myself. We kept approaching their guild base.
Punitto: "NOW!"
I raised my hand in the air and proceeded to cast a 10th-tier AOE spell.
Momonga: '*Boost Maximize Magic: Nether Void Storm.*'
[MP: 125 -> 90]
The spell released a surge of destructive energy. It was the AOE version of *Reality Slash*. It took a lot of MP to cast, but it was able to pass through any Magical Defence.
The Human Players tried to resist the spell, but in the end, they all died.
A group of 4 level 100 Players died with a single spell. This was the destructive power of mage-type build focused on destruction magic.
Momonga: "HAHAHAHAHA! Let's give them hell!"
