Chapter 12: Yggdrasil X
~Momonga's POV~
I exited the VR pod and walked toward the kitchen to eat something before bedtime. Inside, I opened the fridge, retrieved some packaged food, and heated it in the microwave.
It had been two months since I started playing as a Dwarf. I was already level 50.
Unlike Combat-Oriented Job Classes, Production-Oriented Job Classes leveled up from crafting things like; items, potions, etc. I also started thinking about my next character build.
I ate dinner quietly and then exercised lightly to keep my body in good shape. Due to the System's help, I could afford a home gym.
After exercising, I walked to my bedroom. Once inside, I took a shower. After I lay down on the comfortable bed. As I gazed up toward the empty ceiling, I couldn't help but reminisce about my past.
A time when I had loved ones, companions, and the love of my life, and I was still weak and ignorant about the universe. I hadn't embarked on the journey to the top on a whim.
Circumstances forced me to embark on the journey.
'Why I'm still remembering those days.'
I mocked myself and closed my eyes to go to sleep.
~Scene Change~
A young man was sitting in a lotus position in a luxurious room. His eyes were closed, and he was breathing strangely. He was wearing strange clothes with weird patterns.
The door's room opened, and a young woman walked in. She had waist-length black hair, brown eyes, and an hourglass figure. She stood by the door and called the man. She wore professional clothing, perfect for a personal assistant.
???: "Sir, your teacher is calling for you."
The young man nodded, and the girl exited the room. He got up from the floor and walked toward the door. Traveling through the corridors of the expansive mansion took some time.
He reached the door leading to the back garden of the mansion. There, a senior was floating a few feet above the ground.
The senior sat in a lotus position, and his eyes were closed. He approached him and bowed when he got near him.
???: "Disciple greets master."
Senior: "At ease, My dear disciple."
The young man, named James, stopped bowing and kept observing the senior. After a few seconds, the senior opened his eyes and gazed toward James.
Senior: "My dear disciple, I shall embark on a journey to Africa in just two days' time. As fate would have it, your final match awaits you tomorrow. I have heard a lot about your opponent for tomorrow's match. Her name, as you may already know, is Emily—an appellation that resonates with the essence of the Sword Fairy. I am eager to hear your reflections and sentiments concerning her?"
James contemplated for a few seconds before answering.
James: "According to me, she is an excellent cultivator, but she is a bit arrogant, which will lead to her downfall."
Senior: "An astute observation. But don't let your own pride cloud your judgment."
Without any warning, the senior attacked James.
In response, he dodged the attack by jumping to the side before conjuring five different colored balls; that rushed toward the senior. But he was able to manifest a shield just in time.
Senior: "Good, you have improved."
James: "This disciple thanks his master."
James again bowed.
Senior: "You are dismissed. Try to rest a bit before the match."
James: "This disciple understands."
The senior started floating higher and higher into the sky. James stopped bowing and moved inside the mansion.
The mansion was located in the middle of a lush forest. James moved toward the living room and turned on the TV.
James: 'Time to watch some Overlord.'
~Scene Change~
I woke up in my bed.
'Why did I have a dream about that day?'
I got up from the bed, ate breakfast, and entered the VR Pod to play Yggdrasil.
Time Skip~
I had already completed my Production-Oriented build. My status looked like this.

...
I decided to make this build solely focus on production. With this, I can make any item with the highest possible states like; durability, rune slots, additional buffs, etc. But there were shortcomings, like the inability to make potions, talismans, enchanting, inscribing runes, etc.
So, I decided to make a few more production-oriented builds.
I decided to play as an Elf for my next build. The thing posing a significant challenge was the acquisition of corpses for Altering Invocation.
I decided to get help from Ulbert. I went to his chambers in the HQ and asked for his assistance in a massacre.
Momonga: "Hey, Ulbert. How are you doing?"
Ulbert: "I am doing fantastic. How about you?"
Momonga: "I am also just fine. Are you free right now?"
Ulbert: "Yeah, I am free."
Momonga: "Good; will you help me in committing a massacre?"
Ulbert: "Huh!?"
It took some time for Ulbert to understand what I meant. But after the explanation, he was more than happy to help me.
Ulbert: "Let's depart for Álfheim."
I nodded, and we left the HQ after preparing for the massacre.
~Scene Change~
Ulbert and I were traversing the beautiful terrain of Álfheim. The thing about elves was, unlike Dwarves, they didn't have a monster variant that I could kill for corpses.
So, to collect the required corpses, I decided to hit a town in Álfheim to kill NPC elves for corpses.
If I were to attack the town, I'd end up banned from there and the nearby areas. But I didn't care for that.
We kept traveling for about an hour before we came across the bustling town in the middle of the forest. I turned toward Ulbert and asked with excitement apparent in my voice.
Momonga: "Are you ready, Ulbert?"
Ulbert: "I told you to call me the Great Demon Goat of Destruction. And yes, I am ready. After today all the players of Yggdrasil will know my name. MUHAHAHAHA!"
Ulbert and I had already become best friends due to our interest in similar topics. In the past, I had a friend like him, crazy but good in heart.
I shook those thoughts and approached the town. I had already switched to my demon variant because doing AOE damage was its specialty.
I had equipped a wand and a ring; that would bolster my already monstrous MP, Magic Defence, and Magic Attack.
The name of the wand was the Ruinflame Wand.
The wand was crafted by myself. It had a beautiful black body; its surface was adorned with crimson gems. It also buffed my MP and Magic Attack.
[MP: 110 -> 130(Exceed Limits)]
[Magic Attack: 100 -> 125(Exceed Limits)]
[Magic Defence: 90 -> 105(Exceed Limits)]
I used *Fly* to approach the town and began my assault. Previously, I had to be my Doppelganger variant to use the 'Corpse Preservation' skill to preserve the corpses. But I used 'Ouroborus' to request the devs to remove this restriction. Now I could use it after reaching level 100 in any variant.
'*Maximize Extend Widen Magic: Void Surge*'
[MP: 130 -> 110]
A spell of the 10th tier materialized an outward-bound surge of devastating energy.
It was able to kill everyone who had a lower Magic Defence state than mine. But I couldn't just spam this spell, as it had a cooldown of 12 hours.
[Congratulations on Defeating 2 level 100 Players of the Elf race
! You have received 0 EXP]
[Congratulations on Defeating 6 level 90 Players of the Elf race
! You have received 0 EXP]
[Congratulations on Defeating 50 level 40 NPCs of the Elf race
! You have received 0 EXP]
[The effect of 'Advancement Amulet' has been applied. 0 EXP -> 0 EXP.]
[Your location will be broadcasted to all the nearby players for half an hour.]
'HAHAHAHAHA!'
At the same time, Ulbert also released his devastating spells. His task was to damage them, not kill them. I would be the one to do that.
I quickly approached the town and gathered all the corpses. Some players approached me, but I made quick work of them.
We kept massacring NPCs and Players for a short while. Thankfully, the number of level 100 players was scarce. Even though I was confident in my ability to defeat them, the location was not in our favor.
The realm of Álfheim was disadvantageous to Heteromorphic players.
After collecting the corpses, we left the scene as if we were never there.
The Yggdrasil forum was being bombarded with complaints against Momonga. A lot of players died because of him, and they were furious.
...
ProGamer123: "WHAT THE HELL! I AM SUPER ANGRY! How can the @devs let someone be this BROKEN!"
BlazePulse: "@devs check the profile of player '@Momonga,' I am afraid he is cheating."
SolarSentinel: "He was able to kill me in one shot. How can someone be this broken."
...
The devs at Yggdrasil's HQ were scratching their heads at the latest development in Yggdrasil.
Dev 1: "Have you checked his Player data on our end?"
Dev 2: "Yeah, there doesn't seem to be any anomaly. Everything does seem to be in order."
Dev 3: "What about his classes; does he have any hidden classes? Because If he has one of those, this situation could be justified."
It was already late at night, and all the developers wanted to go home and enjoy playing Yggdrasil. But the sudden call from their boss about the incident in the Alfheim prevented them from leaving.
Dev 1: "Yeah, he does have three hidden classes."
Dev 3: "That's sus. Did you check how he acquired those?"
Dev 2: "Yeah, I did, and there doesn't seem to be anything unusual, and judging by his playing time, it doesn't seem too unlikely that he would come across the hidden quests."
All the developers let out a collective sigh and kept inspecting Momonga's data.
Dev 1: "There doesn't seem to be any evidence of cheating. So I propose we ban him for a day and apply massive debuffs when he is in Alfheim."
Dev 2: "I agree. Post our response on the forums."
~Scene Change~
Touch: "Why did you go to Alfheim and kill so many players? Now everyone hates you, and this will increase the hate toward Heteromorphs."
Momonga: "I needed the corpses for my new variant, that's why."
It's not like Momonga didn't try to remove the need for corpses for the creation of new variants, but the devs were unwilling to remove that.
We kept bickering for a few more minutes before I received a notification.
[Player 'Momonga,' due to your actions, you have been banned from Yggdrasil for 24 hours.]
[A massive debuff has also been applied to you when entering the realm of Alfheim.]
[Remaining time of ban: 23:59:57]
"WHAT THE FUCK!"
I was automatically logged out of the game. I exited the VR Pod.
~Sigh~
"I am never gonna financially recover from this."
To Be Continued...
A/N: I'm considering whether this arc is growing monotonous. If you'd prefer me to accelerate the pacing, please feel free to inform me.
Apologies for the chapter's lower quality; I'm currently in a rush. Peace.
