Chapter 15: Chapter 16 Let Uncle Be Dad
Hearing the dean's words, those people showed an incredulous expression, wondering if they had misheard, as there couldn't possibly be such a miraculous acupuncture technique in the world.
Indeed, they believed that traditional Chinese medicine was all fake, unscientific like witchcraft, without any basis at all.
"Dean, I don't believe there's such a miraculous acupuncture technique. Even if there is, this person is too young. I can't trust him, and the dead should be respected, please do not desecrate the dignity of the deceased," said the doctor stubbornly. Despite hearing what his leader had said, he still disbelieved, maintaining a questioning attitude.
"Chen Yang, I told you, traditional Chinese medicine has existed for thousands of years. Its validity is beyond what you, who have always studied Western medicine, can imagine. I too was a disbeliever until I met a remarkable person. Only then did I realize how great the heritage our ancestors left us is. It's a pity that now, even we don't acknowledge it," said the dean, with a sigh.
"No recognition is needed. The transmission of medical skills will not cease and will always look down upon so-called Western medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine isn't declining, but rather, some masters do not wish to compete with the superficiality of Western medicine," Xiao Han looked at the dean and spoke indifferently, his tone unspeakably proud.
"I suppose it's because you can't compete," Chen Yang sneered.
Xiao Han glanced at him, a flash of golden light passed through his hands, and then Chen Yang was shocked to find that he could no longer move.
"You do not believe in traditional Chinese medicine, nor do you likely believe in the practice of acupoint blocking, right? I suppose you don't need me to help you unblock your points," Xiao Han said indifferently, then without giving Chen Yang another glance.
At that moment, people noticed that Chen Yang was still maintaining the same posture, his mouth slightly open, drool dripping out, but he was completely immobile. His whole body was stiff, and he couldn't even flutter his eyelids.
"Pull out that golden needle," a nurse, observant, saw the golden needle on Chen Yang and reached out to touch it.
"Pull it out and he dies," Xiao Han said without turning his head.
As soon as these words were spoken, the nurse who had just reached out was frightened and hurriedly withdrew her hand.
The dean was also startled, and he quickly said, "After blocking points, you mustn't mess around, be careful or his blood flow may reverse and lead to death."
He had some knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine, although not profound, but enough to speak intelligibly about it.
Upon hearing the dean's words, the doctors and nurses were tongue-tied, then looked at Xiao Han with awe. Clearly, they were stunned by his abilities.
"Young man, may I ask if you could unblock his points?" the dean asked Xiao Han, speaking very politely.
He knew that masters of traditional Chinese medicine could be temperamental, so he naturally spoke very courteously.
"Wait."
Xiao Han said indifferently, and at that moment, he suddenly moved.
His hands moved so fast that they left afterimages as he removed all the golden needles from the girl's body. Then, his ten fingers kept tapping on the girl's body, pure streams of True Qi entering her. Within just a few minutes, Xiao Han was sweating profusely from his forehead.
After ten minutes, Xiao Han suddenly shouted, "Wake up!"
Following his shout, the girl's eyes suddenly opened, and her complexion was quickly improving, gaining a healthy flush.
Everyone's eyes widened, even the dean's, who although he knew of the Ninety-nine Soul Returning Needle's miraculousness, still harbored some doubts. Now that he saw Xiao Han had saved the girl, he finally felt relieved and was somewhat shocked as well.
Traditional Chinese medicine truly was as miraculous as the legends said.
Xiao Han was a real master of medical skills, his medical prowess probably even more impressive than his old friend's.
"Uncle, Nannan is hungry," the girl blinked and then said to Xiao Han in a childish voice.
"Bring some good food over," Xiao Han instructed as he turned back.
Hearing his words, the doctors and nurses didn't move, but the director quickly issued an order: "Go find some good food."
Immediately, several doctors and nurses rushed out; they dared not disobey the director's orders.
"A bunch of bootlickers." Xiao Han curled his lip, their minds were all focused on currying favor, with no interest in studying medical skills.
The director felt slightly embarrassed upon hearing Xiao Han's words. After all, these were his subordinates. If his subordinates were bootlickers, what did that make him?
"Nannan."
Fang Yun called out excitedly, rushing to the bedside and embracing Nannan in her arms.
A frown crossed Xiao Han's brow; he formed a seal with his hands, uttered a soft command, and then pressed his forehead.
The others looked at Xiao Han with confusion, unsure why he did that.
"I've sealed your Evil Qi, so it won't harm Nannan's body. Once her body is fully treated, there will be no need to worry," Xiao Han explained to Fang Yun.
"That's wonderful, thank you, Xiao Han," Fang Yun said excitedly.
The look she gave Xiao Han was filled with gratitude. Fang Yun was very aware that if it hadn't been for Xiao Han, she and her daughter would have been permanently separated.
"We're all family here, no need to be so formal," Xiao Han said with a sly smile, staring at Fang Yun.
Fang Yun felt somewhat panic-stricken by Xiao Han's gaze and blushed, avoiding his eyes.
"Mom, is this uncle your boyfriend?" Nannan suddenly asked. The little girl seemed very astute and had quickly sensed something.
"No, Nannan, you're mistaken," Fang Yun's face changed as she quickly clarified.
Nannan did not like other men around Fang Yun; although others had pursued her, Nannan had always shown intense aversion.
That's why Fang Yun hastily explained, to prevent Nannan from developing an aversion to Xiao Han as well.
"Mom, don't be nervous, Nannan really likes this uncle. Let him be Nannan's dad," Nannan said very calmly, not showing the aversion Fang Yun had expected, but instead making such a statement.
Fang Yun was taken aback, clearly not expecting Nannan to say that.
"Why?" she couldn't help asking.
"Because Nannan can feel that this uncle is someone who can protect Mom and won't let her be wronged," the little girl said earnestly, despite her young age.
Fang Yun's face turned slightly red, but Xiao Han was somewhat surprised. He seriously sensed and then exclaimed in his heart after a long while, "Such strong spiritual power; this girl can feel the power in me."
On Nannan, there was a strong spiritual power, exceeding that of ordinary people and even some martial artists.
A hint of joy appeared on Xiao Han's face; if this girl were to practice martial arts, she would definitely be a promising talent.
