Chapter 186: The Exposed Conspiracy (Subscription Request)

Hiding in the shadows, watching one familiar face after another enter the room and then be taken out again, when he saw He Yue and Liu Yu, that pair of old enemies, being pushed in together, He Yue, who was a bit of a neat freak, still wore his prison uniform much cleaner than others. Meanwhile, Liu Yu seemed to have let go of the grudges between them, not making a fuss and letting the guards push them around the room before taking them out again. Seeing this scene, Pei Yan couldn't help but find it both amusing and exasperating.

"So, do they have them inside their bodies too?"

Upon hearing the question, Pei Yan nodded to the elderly speaker. Through others' conversations, he had learned that this warden's surname was Li, and he was the actual leader of the Secret Prison.

"Bring a few more prisoners for inspection!" Prison Director Li nodded towards Director Wei and instructed him. Not long after he left the darkroom, another group of prisoners was brought in for Pei Yan to inspect.

After Pei Yan shook his head to signal, Prison Director Li ordered the prisoners to be taken away, turning to Elder Lin beside him and whispering, "These people were arrested and imprisoned both before and after the New Year, and they show no problems. It seems the issue lies with the group who attacked Pei Yan."

"If it's really done by Mu Fanchen, then it's not surprising. He's always played double roles, and it seems he was prepared to capture Pei Yan. Whether successful or not, he managed to send this group inside." Gu Shenghui chimed in, whispering.

Yu Zhongmin expressed his puzzlement, "But what are they trying to achieve with this? Locating us? This is Jiezhi Space, what use is a locator here? It can't teleport out!"

"In any case, let's take one out to have a look!" After saying that, Prison Director Li turned to Pei Yan and asked, "Can you remove it without damaging the item?"

"I can give it a try!"

Five minutes later, He Yue was dumbfounded as Pei Yan walked into the room. His expression quickly turned into fury as he sprang up, shouting, "Pei Yan! I'll kill you! I want to kill you!"

"Sit down! Behave yourself! Sit back!" Behind him, a prison guard swung a baton hard into his ribs. Despite the painful blow, He Yue continued to struggle, trying to charge at Pei Yan, only to be forcibly pinned against the table by the guard. Even then, his mouth continued to hurl relentless abuses.

Pei Yan crouched down beside him, aligning his gaze with He Yue, who was pressed against the table, and ridiculed with a grin, "For someone who's supposed to be a civilized person, your cursing is really awful; it's unbecoming of your status!"

With that, Pei Yan touched his finger to his storage ring, and a pair of socks appeared in his hand. Without minding He Yue's furious glare that threatened to tear him apart, he pressed down on He Yue's head and shoved the socks into his mouth.

Having done this, Pei Yan clapped his hands and walked behind He Yue, signaling the guards to take off He Yue's prison uniform. His fingers, glowing with a blue light, traced down from his neck along his spine slowly. With each inch it moved, countless invisible nano robots leaped from his fingertips into He Yue's body.

Before long, Pei Yan withdrew his fingers and nodded to the prison guard, saying, "All done!"

Upon hearing this, the guards straightened He Yue's body. Pei Yan glanced at He Yue's tear-streaked face and couldn't help but chuckle, "Oh dear, why the tears? No worries, we probably won't be seeing each other again." With that, Pei Yan left the interrogation room with a smile.

Inside the Secret Prison meeting room,

Qi Youting, looking around at the leaders of the Secret Prison and a large group of strangers in the meeting room, immediately felt her legs turn to jelly as she cursed Pei Yan a dozen times over in her heart. He's a jinx; nothing good ever happens when she encounters him, just when her days had settled down. With today's scenario, it seems like there's another problem looming; those days of cowering in prison were ones she never wanted to experience again.

It was only after Director Wei leaned over and explained the situation that her anxiety subsided somewhat. It turned out they just needed her ability to look at some things.

Her ability corresponded to the mirror of treasures, and under Director Wei's instruction, she summoned a set of completed microscope lenses before everyone. After her adjustments, Prison Director Li could finally see what Pei Yan had taken out of He Yue's body and laid on the table.

After everyone had taken turns examining it, Yao Xuefang was the last to step up and carefully observed through the microscope before cautiously releasing her innate energy to attach to it.

Seeing sweat gradually seep from Yao Xuefang's forehead, the arriving Gao Yaping attentively pulled out a handkerchief to wipe it for her. After a while, Yao Xuefang let out a long breath and sat back on the sofa, her face grim and silent.

Seeing this, Prison Director Li waved towards Qi Youting, saying, "Xiaoqi, you can leave now, we'll call you if needed!"

As Qi Youting rushed out of the meeting room as if fleeing, Elder Lin sat beside Yao Xuefang, asking anxiously, "Xiaoyao, how is it?"

"We've lost!" Yao Xuefang shook her head helplessly, taking a long time to squeeze out those four words through gritted teeth.

Yu Zhongmin rested his hand on the long table, pressing for answers, "Explain clearly, how did we lose?"

"Shenyu has managed to integrate Daoist Realm arrays onto such tiny high-tech products. This kind of ingenious thinking and approach is simply unprecedented. In terms of technological collaboration with other dimensions, they've surpassed us by far. Unlike the Immortal Palace, Witch Guild, and our conservative forces, who are constantly suspicious of each other and reluctant to show their true capabilities, these underground forces engage in exchanges with a spirit of genuine cooperation." Yao Xuefang removed her glasses and wiped the lenses with a sense of self-mockery.

After hearing Yao Xuefang's words, the conference room fell into a dead silence. She was right, but there was nothing they could do. Unlike the underground forces, who were willing to risk everything, both in the real world and among the mainstream powers in other realms, they were secretive about the powers they controlled. This was understandable as no one wanted to become the cat forced up a tree by the tiger they taught.

"We'll find a way to deal with this later. Xiaoyao, can you detect what these nano devices are used for?" Elder Lin, knowing this couldn't be resolved immediately, focused on addressing the current issue.

"They have a part that facilitates spatial transmission, meaning this Jiezhi Space isn't the safest anymore. These little things have exposed its location. Furthermore, they contain some latent, unactivated mysterious arrays. I haven't fully analyzed them, but I deduced they likely have some space-confining effects. We'll need a thorough investigation to be certain, but if my deductions are correct, once these nano robots are activated, they will confine this Jiezhi Space by consuming the host's life source, disabling the Teleportation Array's effects temporarily." Yao Xuefang expressed gravely upon putting on her freshly cleaned glasses.

"That's his goal!" Gu Shenghui sat back on the sofa, rubbing his hands together excitedly.
