Chapter 634: Seeing Nature with a Clear Mind
The scenery in the spacious courtyard garden was picturesque, with a gentle stream murmuring, birds singing, and flowers blooming. The rhythmic, crisp tapping of the Luwei Bamboo added a hint of Zen.
Dorothy sat bored on the porch of the courtyard, casually swinging her legs while lost in thought.
Though she had a wide range of tastes, whether it be black stockings, white stockings, or flesh-toned ones, she liked seeing them on others but wasn't inclined to wear them herself.
She was an advocate of bare legs.
Thus, her two fair and tender feet were idly swaying in the small pond beneath the corridor, water splashing and ripples spreading as her legs swung.
The pond in the witch's garden naturally had no water quality issues. The small fish pond's water was crystal clear, yet in comparison to the witch's feet, seemingly crafted by the gods' finest creation, the clear water appeared somewhat murky.
The various koi living in the pond were all attracted over. These creatures were always bold and unafraid of humans, and now they just waited foolishly for someone to feed them.
Perhaps it had been too long without expecting a meal, as an occasional fish would nudge the sole of the witch's foot, causing a reflexive tickling sensation that made the witch's body tremble. Her exquisite foot arch tensed, and her dainty toes curled together adorably.
Seeing the koi with perhaps less than a seven-second memory persistently bothering her, Dorothy, in a bad mood, took out some snacks from her pocket and carelessly scattered them into the pond, laughing as she watched the naive ornamental fish scramble and compete for food.
"Tsk, you guys are still the best, carefree and without any worries."
The homebody witch sighed thus.
By this time, she had mostly digested the secret tales she had heard about Japan and had almost figured out why she had caused such a big phenomenon before.
"So, the situation is that I got off at the wrong stop when I initially crossed over. I was originally supposed to go to the Eastern Universe as an innate saint, yet for some unknown reason, I got off early in the witch world."
She quickly summed up her situation, and it seemed to be roughly the case.
She was meant to be reborn in the Eastern Universe as an Immortal. The sages there had already prepared everything for her birth, just waiting for her, the natural saint. Somehow, though, she exited midway, letting down all the immortals in the Eastern Universe.
Yet, the immortals seemed not to have given up. The entire existence of Japan seemed to be to await her, the natural saint, to appear again.
"Sigh, how did I, a little witch, suddenly become a natural saint?"
Dorothy shook her head, even her strong adaptability as a homebody couldn't help her calm down quickly. She felt it somewhat unreal.
After all, cultivation, oh, it's incredibly attractive, and probably anyone from her past life couldn't resist such a temptation.
Not to mention someone now told her she was inherently a saint, needing no effort at all to cultivate and become a saint, with the throne of the Immortal Emperor waiting for her to ascend.
This temptation was absolutely maxed out, far more enticing than "I'm the First Emperor, give you thousands of troops and horses" which was heart-stirring.
It was really so wonderful that it felt unrealistic, making her wonder whether she had encountered a scam.
"Ha, Dorothy, do you not have any realization whether this is a scam or not? You have so many anomalies about you, haven't you noticed a bit?"
From above the homebody witch, Hat Senior Sister looked at her master, who appeared to have lost her mind after seemingly winning a billion-dollar lottery, and reached out with a tentacle to pat her master's face with annoyance, saying without a good mood.
"Anomalies? What anomalies do I have? At most, I just learn things a little faster. But I've always learned things quickly since before."
Dorothy wasn't convinced. She truly didn't feel anything special in her lifetime.
Others who crossed over have systems, ring grandpas, or such OP cheats, but really, she started with nothing, achieving everything through her own endeavors. How could this treatment qualify as a protagonist?
As for those strange inspirations? How can that be considered a cheat? She had those in her past life, just not as active as now, only appearing when she was focused on learning a particular skill, like culinary arts, boxing, swordsmanship, or crafting model kits.
If you must say there are anomalies in this life, maybe it's the body's unique fragrance, or stepping every step sprouting lotuses kind of phenomena.
However, these phenomena in the past were just effects, akin to game cosmetics, solely for aesthetics without any practical use, and over time, she forgot about them.
But thinking back now, these phenomena indeed seemed to be auspicious omens in the East, indicating something extraordinary about the person, but how could a witch have the leisure to jump platforms to the neighboring Eastern Universe?
Hat Senior Sister: "....."
Heh, is that just a little fast? More like immensely fast—I, the future Fourth King, don't even have such outrageous insights as you. Do you really not realize how unthinkable that is?
Asa Vanni felt speechless and was tempted to scold.
But before she could let out her scorn, Dorothy moved.
The homebody witch stood up, just standing over the fish pond, without using magic, yet golden lotuses blossomed in the void beneath her, supporting her.
