Chapter 197: 175. The Cultivation of the Gold-Devouring Beast

Giant Dragon Market, the largest chain of magic markets in the Witch World.

Unlike the witches' specialty store that primarily caters to witches and sells only high-quality goods, the Giant Dragon Market targets a much wider range of customers, offering everything from treasured items to inferior goods; those from otherworldly races can also find things suitable for themselves.

If the witches' specialty store is akin to an upscale department store, then the Giant Dragon Market is like a bustling marketplace.

There is naturally no need to go to the witches' specialty store when purchasing building materials. Although the items there are good, the prices are frankly too expensive; that place only accepts high-level material private customization and such, so the cost-performance ratio is actually higher looking in the Giant Dragon Market.

There are several Giant Dragon Markets within the Witch Academy, but the largest one is here in District Thirteen. After all, this area is the largest and home to the most otherworldly races, making it the liveliest.

Personally, Dorothy actually prefers browsing magic markets like the Giant Dragon Market rather than the witches' specialty store because the store owners in the latter are too shrewd for anyone to find a bargain there.

But in the magic markets, the shopkeepers from various races aren't as professional, and with a bit of luck, one might find a dusty treasure.

The Giant Dragon Market in District Thirteen is not far from Dorothy's sky island—in fact, it could be considered a neighbor, located on a medium-sized commercial sky island not far in front of Dorothy's.

Therefore, not long after taking off, a lively marketplace came into view, with the most eye-catching feature being the huge roaring dragon head logo on the entrance sign.

And as they got closer, they would be astounded to discover that the dragon-shaped statues, which appeared to be guarding the entry and stood several meters tall on either side of the sign, were actually real dragons posing as stone sculptures.

However, having giant dragons in the Giant Dragon Market isn't all that strange, as the market was founded by the Dragon Witch in collaboration with the Great Dragons, and it's a joint venture between the two races.

But after glancing at the two seemingly guard-duty giants, who were actually lazing around sleeping, Dorothy turned her head to look at the Armored Beast Favna on her shoulder.

Sigh, she wondered when her little dragon would grow into such a majestic and imposing size because then she wouldn't need to ride a broom when going out—she could become a Dragon Knight.

Unfortunately, Favna's growth was truly slow. Although she belonged to the True Dragons and was also an Armored Beast, her growth direction was a bit different from that of normal Great Dragons.

Normal dragon whelps are the size of small ponies at birth, quickly growing to about ten meters in length within months, aiming for a larger and stronger physique.

However, as an Armored Beast, Favna's ultimate goal is to create impressive armor, so she's following the path of "less is more." Instead of increasing in size, her priority is the growth of her physical quality, which enhances her defensive power after armorization.

Of course, the miniature Favna resting on Dorothy's shoulder was shrunk with a Shrinking Spell. In fact, after a month of growth, her real body size had gone from a kitten when she was just born to the size of a medium-sized dog.

The change in body size was not significant, but her weight had increased by more than tenfold. Her small body harbored a strength that was completely inconsistent with her size, and along with her sleek black dragon scales, she looked very sturdy and gave a sense of security.

At the very least, she certainly hadn't been eating all that high-level metal for nothing.

So theoretically, Dorothy could already be a Dragon Knight now, as Favna could surely carry her weight. But how would one ride a dragon whelp the size of a small dog?

Just imagining herself stepping out with a small dog-sized dragon underneath her, Dorothy thought the sight would be too beautiful to contemplate.

However, if she insisted on riding, she could do it with the help of an Amplification Spell. But the high expenditure after amplification was not something a juvenile dragon could sustain. It wouldn't be a problem for a short walk, but if she wanted to fly, especially given Favna's jet-like mode of flight, the juvenile dragon's magic power might be exhausted just upon taking off and then...

crash land.

Tsk, they were truly alike as master and pet, both big spenders of mana.

Sigh, so it was still best to keep looking forward to the future. Based on her current growth rate, Dorothy estimated that Favna could reach a length of four to five meters in a year.

Though that size would be considered underdeveloped among the Great Dragons, at least she should be able to ride, barely.

"So, Favna, you need to eat well and grow up quickly," Dorothy said, poking the cute little bubble on the sleeping little dragon's nose and waking her up. She then took out a piece of high-level metal and placed it beside her, speaking these words.

The startled Favna looked up with a question mark over her head, not understanding what her master meant, but upon seeing the food, she immediately hugged the metal block and started munching.

"Hmm, while buying building materials later, I should also get some more Magic Energy Metal."

Dorothy was thinking this to herself.

Just then...

"Little one, eat this."

Senior Mia, who was beside her, suddenly pulled out a Witch Gold Yuan and placed it in front of Favna.

"Little Fairy, why have you been feeding the Armored Beast this stuff? The best food for an Armored Beast is Witch Gold Yuan."

She also asked Dorothy with some confusion.

Immediately, the Juvenile Dragon, which had been happily gnawing on a chunk of metal, suddenly lost interest in her metal block and stared intently at the Witch Gold Yuan in Mia's hand.

But she didn't rush over; instead, she turned to glance at her Master.

Dorothy: "..."

Of course, she knew that. Witch Gold Yuan, forged through a special Alchemy method, was one of the best sources of Magic Energy Metal, and since it contained the witch's Magic Power, it was practically the best supplement for an Armored Beast.

But right now, Favna was still a Juvenile Dragon. Ordinary Magic Energy Metal was sufficient for her growth needs, though it just meant a lesser taste, requiring her to eat more to feel full, but it was the most cost-effective option.

Dorothy had initially planned to wait until ordinary Magic Energy Metal no longer met Favna's needs before switching to Witch Gold Yuan, so these days she dared not carry cash, only using her Identity Card to make transactions, fearing that Favna would discover she had been hiding something tastier.

Alas, it is easy to go from frugality to luxury, but difficult to return.

And now, there was no hiding it; the true Gold-Devouring Beast had emerged.

But never mind, if it could no longer be hidden, then so be it. She could grow faster this way, and Dorothy could become a Dragon Knight sooner. And once the club started, there would be money at home.

Dorothy believed this firmly in her heart and then, with a pained expression, nodded her head.

So the Juvenile Dragon joyously feasted on those Witch Gold Yuan.

And Senior Mia's gaze shifted to the kitten perched on Dorothy's other shoulder.

"Lit..."

"Shut your mouth."

Dorothy didn't wait for her Senior to open her mouth, immediately covering it with her hand, while her other hand shielded the curious eyes of Buster the kitten, also looking at Senior Mia.

The kitten couldn't stand the temptation of this spendthrift lady.

"Fine, all I was going to say was that your psychic magic wand is well cared for, no need to be so fierce."

Senior Mia said, feeling a bit aggrieved.

Really, she couldn't understand the Little Fairy's mentality. Was there a need to be so thrifty? Isn't money something you can simply pick up as you walk around?

The Golden Princess, born with the Golden Rule (SSR) Talent, simply could not comprehend this.

.....Rich lady puzzled.....
