Otaku Witch

Chapter 191: 170. Accidental Incident

"Sister, what do you think about this place?"

"I don't think it's good, it's too remote and too crowded, and there's no sunlight."

"What about this one?"

"I think it's nice, but my wallet doesn't agree."

"Then how about this one?"

"This one is pretty good overall, just too bustling. My junior is shy; is there a quieter place?"

"Well..."

........

Originally, Dorothy thought that with Alice, a local expert, helping her, finding a club residence would be a matter of minutes. However, after nearly half a day of searching, the group didn't find any location that met their expectations.

"Sister, aren't you being too picky? Can't you compromise a little?"

Exhausted, the group randomly found a beverage shop by the roadside to rest and recuperate. Little Alice, somewhat speechless, looked at her discerning sister and said this.

"Can you blame me? Isn't it because those places always have various problems? This is about choosing a club residence, a place where everyone will often live together in the future. We must choose carefully; we can't be careless, or else it won't be comfortable to live there."

Dorothy argued her case firmly.

For a moment, the two sisters stared at each other, and the Little Fox, not good at dealing with these situations, trembled and tried to make herself invisible, becoming practically transparent.

However, Senior Mia, who had been the club leader for many years, was good at handling these situations. She gently clapped her hands to draw the sisters' attention and then raised the menu in her hand.

"Alright, no need to argue anymore, cool down, let me treat you to some tea." (Let's have tea first).

With this, the sisters ceased their standoff and sat back down, each checking the menu.

The Thirteen-Ring area had always been at the bottom of the Academy's discrimination chain, recognized as a gathering place for poor students and lowlifes. Most residents here were witches from ordinary family backgrounds, along with otherworldly races who worked at the Witch Academy, providing various services for the witches.

But it must be said, it was precisely because of this unique environment where various races cohabited that the Thirteen-Ring also became the liveliest place in the entire Witch Academy.

If it were in any of the other Rings, one would almost see only witches on the streets; almost all of the otherworldly races would be as humble as dust, diligently serving the deity witches, cautious and careful, functioning like mere parts of Witch City, precise and useful.

However, in the Thirteen-Ring, although there were still quite a few witches, the powerful ones were not many; after all, witches with good talents and qualifications certainly would not end up studying here.

On the other hand, the otherworldly races who had the opportunity to leave the ground and serve the witches at Witch Sky Island were rarely weak, as they all had passed through rigorous assessments and competition, even combat, to earn this chance to serve the deities in the heavenly world.

To be honest, the witches of the Thirteen-Ring might not necessarily be a match for the strong warriors among the local otherworldly races.

Therefore, here, the otherworldly races, who were usually always on edge, fearing accidentally offending a powerful deity, could finally take a breather.

If the first few rings of the Witch Academy were levels of the strictly hierarchical Divine Realm, then the Thirteen-Ring was a bit like a blend of demigods and mortals living together, with an atmosphere that was much more harmonious and gentle.

Therefore, the streets and shops here were quite interesting, like the beverage shop where they were currently located, run by Elves, with an Orc-owned milk tea shop to the left and a Dwarf-owned tavern to the right.

This interesting scene made Dorothy feel quite novel for a moment.

Yes, it finally had a taste of another world.

And looking at the drink menu, wow, it was even more fitting.

"I'll have a glass of Moon Spring Water."

Little Alice chose first, although it was quite outrageous that a witch, fused from the dark creatures of a Werewolf and a vampire, would want to drink the Moon Spring Water, renowned for its holy and purifying powers from the Elf Race.

"Then I'll have the Dew of Life. Audrey, how about some World Tree juice too?"

Dorothy wasn't too shy with Senior Mia, as she was genuinely thirsty and quickly chose her own drink.

The so-called Dew of Life was juice from the World Tree fruit, the sacred tree of the Elf Race, an item rare to Mortals in the netherworld, as the immense life force of the World Tree fruit could instantly revive a dying person—a truly lifesaving treasure.

However, what the Elves considered a priceless treasure was just so-so for the Witches; it had been thoroughly researched and even several tree species had been improved, such as decorative trees with a reduced size for adornment which many witches liked to have in their gardens.

These not only looked impressive but also enhanced the growth of surrounding plants with their natural gardening abilities allowing the garden to self-manage.

As the World Tree became widely cultivated, its fruits naturally became less valuable; its juice was a common drink in the Witch World. Yet, if speaking about authenticity, the Soul Eaters' favorite—juice from a soul-containing World Tree fruit—that was still up to the Elves' skills.

So, when she discovered that the shop owner was an Elf lady (whether she was really "little" was doubtful), Dorothy decided to try being a Soul Eater for the day, to see whether the Elves' ancient techniques or the Witches' quick Juicing Technique made for a tastier drink.

Of course, she also didn't forget Audrey who had become "Akari-ized." Being unable to hide her own spells from her perception, she turned and asked her socially anxious junior sister.

At this, the fox ears atop Little Fox's head twitched, and then she happily nodded.

Wuu wuu wuu, truly her senior sister was always good to her.

Just as the group was patiently waiting for their drinks to be served, Alice's Spellbook began to vibrate wildly.

At this, the little witch frowned, somewhat annoyed.

Who could it be, not knowing better than to disturb someone's personal time? She had been working overtime for nearly a month now, and just when she finally took a day off to spend with her sister, someone still bothered her.

However, when she reluctantly opened her Spellbook and glanced at the message, her eyes widened, and she immediately stood up excitedly.

Good heavens, that person she had been failing to catch for a month was purposely acting contrarily it seemed. Just when she settled down for a month without incidents, the moment she took a day off, trouble started again, right?

"What's wrong?"

Seeing Alice react this way, Dorothy couldn't help but ask curiously.

.....The homebody witch curiously wondered....
