Otaku Witch

Chapter 186: 165. Club Candidates

At night, at the top floor of the Tower of Shine.

"It's time to eat."

Dorothy took off her pink fluffy rabbit apron and called out to Sophia in the living room.

"Hmm, coming."

The Angel Witch also closed her spellbook and came to the dining room.

After more than a month of adjustment, the two were quite accustomed to this cohabitation. At least, the initial restraint between them was gone, and they became much more easygoing.

Tonight's dinner was relatively simple: braised thunder giant elephant leg, icy silver fish soup, complemented by fragrant Dragon Tooth rice.

Whether it was rice soaked in meat or fish soup, it was a deceptively simple but exquisite combination.

Dorothy chose the meat soup, while Sophia across her chose the fish soup. The two quickly devoured the food on the table.

At last, Dorothy, with her belly bulging, crawled back to the couch to lie down, while the Angel Witch, holding her waist, put on the pink fluffy rabbit apron that the homebody witch had just taken off and went into the kitchen to do the cleaning up.

Seeing her roommate, whose stomach was swollen as if several months pregnant, working so hard, Dorothy couldn't help shaking her head.

Tsk, the Soul Party is such a hassle. A simple Cleansing Magic would do the job, yet they insist on washing things manually for that bit of mental cleanliness.

She, an expert at lazing around, then took the Armored Beast Fafnir as a pillow in her arms while teasing Buster, the cat with the Magic Wand, with dry Soul Shard minnows. Watching the lively kitten jump around, Dorothy smiled.

Ah, such a delightful daily life—all she ever wanted.

But as much as she enjoyed it, she couldn't forget the important tasks.

"Sophia, do we need five people to start a club? And are there any special requirements for the club's location?"

Dorothy asked lazily.

Student clubs at Witch Academy were under the jurisdiction of the student council. Starting a club required approval from the student council, which could be troublesome for others, but having a roommate who was the student council president gave her a natural advantage.

"A club? Why are you asking about this, Miss? Are you planning to start a club?"

The Angel Witch turned her head, somewhat wary of her roommate, who had just settled down for a month, fearing she might be up to some big news again.

"Yeah, the teacher said I could start taking on jobs to practice, but I see that most posts on the academy forum require handling them on behalf of a club. I don't want to join someone else's club and be restrained, so I have to start my own."

Dorothy was a bit hurt by her roommate's vigilant attitude and shivered with indignation, but after thinking about her own past experiences, she ended up explaining a bit.

"I see, no problem then. Miss, just gather the people and choose a club location, and you can come to the student council. I will personally approve it for you."

Relieved it was for a legitimate reason, the Angel Witch said so.

With such assurance, Dorothy was content. She continued to play with the cat and stroke the dragon while contemplating the preparations for establishing the club.

So first, the initial problem came: where should she recruit people?

The minimum requirement for a club is five members. Counting herself and her junior sister, Audrey, that was only two people. Where could she find the other three?

This question stumped her a bit.

If it were any other little witch, she could easily gather five classmates around her, but the problem was their cursed major—students and teachers combined were only three people. Surely she couldn't pull in Spider Teacher as well, could she? No way, student clubs couldn't possibly allow teachers to join.

Since her classmates from the same department were not an option, Dorothy could only consider friends and family, yet she struggled to think of any suitable candidate.

Her sister Alice would be a good choice, but Alice had already joined the Armed Society. Dorothy guessed that if Alice asked, the little witch would probably announce her resignation on the spot, but Dorothy didn't want to do that.

After all, the club she was going to establish was definitely going to be a research club, mainly focused on architecture, and Alice's path of armament was clearly better developed in the Armed Society.

The same logic applied to Senior Mia, a friend from an online forum, except that recently Senior Mia had been having a rather rough time, being constantly tormented by Euphilia in daily intense training sessions. Dorothy had heard her mention wanting to quit several times.

Well, it might be appropriate to swing the hoe a bit and give it a try.

As for other friends...

She barely had any friends at all.

The only semi-acquaintances were Alice's archenemy, the Mermaid Witch Isabella, and Senior Dina from the Eye of True Sight.

Senior Dina was out of the question to begin with, since as the leader of a club she couldn't just step down, and as for Isabella, Dorothy really wasn't very close to the little mermaid; their relationship was only as close as that of best friends between sisters - acquainted, but not particularly familiar.

Oh, I really have so few friends.

Dorothy couldn't help but sigh. As someone who was quite socially anxious, although not as extreme as her junior sister Audrey, she really wasn't good at making friends.

"Tsk, if you really are short of people, I could lend my name, though I'm on a break from school now, but since I haven't graduated, I'm still technically a student,"

said the Hat Senior Sister from above her head, opening her Starry Eyes and then waving her little tentacles in front of her as she spoke.

"Oh, can you do that?"

Dorothy was taken aback.

"Of course, but let's get one thing straight, I'm just lending my name, no work involved,"

emphasized the Hat Senior Sister.

Ever since this master realized how useful her tentacles were, she had been using them like a Mage's Hand every day. While she didn't mind cooking and taking care of the house, she drew the line at labor like brick moving.

After all, how could she, the future Fourth King, be seen moving bricks on a construction site? Did she have no dignity?

"Comrade Fanny, your level of ideological awareness is low, huh? Is there any distinction between high and low in labor? The laborer is the most glorious..."

Dorothy, sensing the Hat Senior Sister's thoughts, was about to launch into a verbal tirade, but was immediately silenced by a tentacle slapped over her mouth.

"Mmm-mmm... Okay, lending your name is fine,"

Sensing such a strong reaction from the major senior sister, Dorothy pulled the soggy tentacle from her mouth and quietly shut up.

So that made three people so far, potentially including Senior Mia. Well, just one more member needed.

Still, Dorothy racked her brains for a long time, truly unable to think of anyone else, wondering if she should try her luck again in the club plaza.

However, just then, the Angel Witch, who had just finished washing dishes, came over, holding her back. Seeing her roommate, Dorothy's eyes lit up, and she was struck by inspiration.

"Hey, Sophia, can Student Council members join clubs?"

.....Homebody Witch waiting eagerly.....
