Orochimaru’s Magic Lamp

Chapter 213: Chapter 213: Lost in the first battle

Naoyan's normally stern expression now showed a flicker of anxiety.

"Sasori, Lord Kakuzu—please hold it off for a while. I'll try to bring it under control. We must not let it escape this place."

Not far from here lay the village of Kusanagi. According to intel from Zetsu, The beast had a hunger for chakra-rich flesh and blood. If it reached the village, the result would be nothing short of a massacre.

"Naoyan, my child," came a hoarse voice, mocking and chilling. "Do you think I'll leave without tasting you first?"

Elder Yangmian lowered his head and gave a raspy laugh. Before either Kakuzu or Sasori could act, his form suddenly exploded into a gray-black humanoid monster, tens of meters tall. Though its limbs remained slender, their ends were hammer-thick, tipped with claws and fangs. From its back sprouted wings like a crow's.

"ROAR!"

With a mighty roar, "The beast" kicked up a violent gust and lunged straight at Naoyan.

Kakuzu instantly formed hand seals and activated Earth Grudge Fear mode. In one leap, he placed himself between Naoyan and the beast. Eight black tendrils shot out from his back, targeting the beast.

But the beast seemed to anticipate it. His black wings flared, narrowly dodging the attack, and landed a hundred meters away.

"Tch… Just like the reports said. Not easy to hit," Kakuzu muttered, glancing at Sasori. "Your turn."

Ka-ka-ka...

Sasori gave Kakuzu a cold glance and drew a scroll from within his puppet's torso.

"Secret Technique: Performance of a Hundred Puppets."

In an instant, dozens of red-robed human puppets surged into the air, swarming toward "the beast."

Malice. Hostility. These weren't easy to suppress in a life-or-death fight. But for someone like Sasori, who had abandoned human limits, suppression wasn't the goal. Amplification was.

Through his chakra network, he moved hundreds of puppets in unison—each one carrying a fraction of his killing intent. The result was an overwhelming wave of aggression.

Sensing the danger, "the beast" laughed darkly. "A good trick—but your little toys are too weak!"

He dove into the puppet swarm, tearing through them with devastating force. With every sweep of his claws, a puppet shattered into fragments.

From the treetop above, Yakushi Kabuto watched, glasses flashing with cold light. His gaze met Naoyan's for a moment, though neither moved.

Then, unexpectedly, "the beast" let out a furious roar.

"What… what is this?!"

His body was suddenly coated in a thick, mud-like yellow substance. His speed dropped dramatically—no longer able to rampage freely.

Sasori seized the moment. More puppets surged in, their mechanisms snapping shut on the beast's joints. Specialized suicide-puppets exploded on contact, layering the creature in sticky mucus.

"He's just an instinct-driven brute," Sasori said coldly, fingers dancing. "Not even a proper beast."

Victory in battle isn't only about power—it's also about intellect. The beast knew nothing of Sasori, but Sasori knew exactly how to deal with monsters like him. Back in the Hidden Sand, he had helped seal a Tailed Beast.

"BASTARD!"

"the beast" roared again, hurling puppets away and charging straight at Sasori.

But Sasori didn't budge.

He didn't have to.

Without any signal, Kakuzu moved. He blinked forward, intercepting the charge. His black threads lashed out and struck.

"The beast" tried to endure the attack and press forward—but by then, Sasori had already repositioned. His puppets swarmed in again.

Again and again, the monster was baited and bound, until frustration boiled over.

From above, Yakushi Kabuto watched quietly. He licked his lips, withdrawing any lingering schemes from his mind.

There's a strange balance between ninja. He might have confidence facing Sasori, but against the beast? Even with Manda, he'd barely last.

Even Orochimaru himself might struggle.

Sasori... really is something.

As the fight wore on, the outcome became increasingly clear. Kakuzu turned to Naoyan.

"Still haven't controlled it?"

Before Naoyan could speak, Sasori interjected coldly.

"Useless. If this goes on, I'll just seal it myself."

"…Actually," Naoyan said slowly, "I have gained control. I just… wanted to let it burn off some rage first. It'll be easier to subdue that way."

"You're using us to do your dirty work?" Naoyan raised an eyebrow and pulled his puppets away. "If you want it to vent, let it go tear through Kusanagi Village. Same result."

"You—!" Naoyan flinched, quickly regaining control of the rampaging monster. "Those are innocent lives!"

"Innocent?" Sasori scoffed. "Not my concern. My puppets, on the other hand, are valuable."

"You…"

Naoyan knew full well these people weren't good. Working with them had always felt like dancing with snakes. But until this moment, he hadn't fully grasped how little their moral compass mattered.

Still… not even "the beast" could stand against them.

He glanced at Kabuto, suppressing his emotions, and gave the command. "the beast" slowly retreated into the Box of Bliss.

At last, Kakuzu spoke.

"You have one week to fully seize control of Kusanagi Village. Don't forget why we're helping you."

"It's time," he added coldly. "Kusanagi Village must declare war."

Naoyan took a deep breath. "Understood."
