Chapter 60: Laughter

Somewhere in the corner of the unknown universe, billions of lightyears away from the Nova star system, the body of a space creature which was almost as a big as a star was floating. The creature was long dead. The carcass of the creature was converted into a prison. That prison had thousands of androids acting as guards. Each of these guards had the capability to destroy a planet in a matter of minutes. However the greatest security the prison had was a group of 50 people who were at the second deepest level of the prison.

25 of them had a blood red aura emanating from them. Their sharp fangs became visible with their sinister smile. Their fingers had crimson colored nails. These 'nocturas' had pointy ears with a round shape like that of some leaves, giving them the impression of being sinister and crooked. The other 25 were completely different from these sinister beings. They had a neutral and regal demeanour. They had protrusions coming from their head, similar to horns. Only that their ends were not sharp but blunt in nature. They had a tail like that of a reptile, filled with scales. They were from a race called 'dracons'. Both these groups were staring at each other with animosity. It looked like they were being forced to guard this prison together.

At the deepest part of the prison there was a being that was chained. In fact, this entire prison and all the security systems here were for the purpose of guarding this one prisoner. The being was chained with powerful chains in a primitive way. There were chains on all four limbs of the being. The reason why they were the greatest security here was because they were radiating the aura distinctive to martial entities. 50 martial entities stationed in a single location. That too to guard a single person.

Deep inside the prison , a being was being chained using the strongest materials. The chains were attached to the four limbs of the being. If one inspects the chains, they will find inscriptions on all the chains. These inscriptions were used for draining and suppressing any form of energy, even the life aura. If an inscription master or a formation master form any races from the Nova star systems were to see these inscriptions, they would be horrified. The level of these inscriptions were so high that just trying to peer at them would fry their brains. These chains were connected to some apparatus that was feeding the energy to the facility and certain something, which no one in the facility knew about. If one looks closely, one will understand that the being that was being restrained here was a marthya. He was 7 feet tall, with a well chiseled body. Despite being captured and bound for several millennia, the fierceness in his eye had not disappeared. Nor did the vitality brimming in his body. After all, before his pursuit for knowledge, he was a warrior. His white hair and white beard were flowing as though he was in water. He was reminiscing about the past and also absorbing energy from the surroundings. Yes, even with such powerful inscriptions on equally powerful material, they could not prevent this man from absorbing energy.

He was not simply reminiscing about past. He was analysing the events of the past to predict the future. A part of the energy he was absorbing was being used for the purpose of doing this prediction. The other part was being stored in an unknown way, without being discovered by the guards.

He looked in up, as if he was seeing something. A slight smile formed on him. It then turned into a grin. Then a chuckle and then to laughter.

"Ha ha ha ha ha, oho ho ho ho ha ha ha ha haaa ha "

The sound emanated throughout the facility. The entire facility was shaking. The androids that were powerful enough to obliterate entire planets, fell into their knees clutching their chests. It was in their chests, their cores for programming were located. It looked like they were in pain. The 50 martial entities did not fare any better. The energy in their body run amok and they were barely suppressing the situation of them blowing up. But even then, one question was in their minds: 'This prison is devoid of atmosphere. Then how the hell is there sound here and why is mere sound affecting us?'

This was against conventional laws of physics. They were also at a level were sound would not affect their bodies or their natural meridian circuits. That did not bode well with reality. The laughter was not something that was mere sound. It was affecting the reality and even causality itself. After all how could the mundane and paltry laws of physical realm be applicable to the mighty sage 'Vishwamitra'.
