V1 Chapter 39: New Information

  • 1st Person POV (MC)

-Present Time-

Waking up early in the morning, I checked the time. It is currently 08:40 AM, Thursday. Hmm... with that, I assume the event will start on Sunday if I calculate the time correctly...

Once I washed my face and brushed my teeth. I opened my phone to browse their website. Yup! It is on Sunday. They give a 2-hour window from 8 AM – 10 AM to join then they will start.

Out of curiosity, I opened a new tab and navigated towards my bookmark into Pochi Mochi’s Wikia. I clicked on {Spell} section, to double-check what Siegfried told me.

Indeed, there are several additions added to it. {Spell} mechanics, MP management, and Meta Magic options are the usual things I saw. But now...

{Spell} Memory and {Spell} Elements. Pochi Mochi’ has been cooperating with a magic caster class both mage and priest-derived classes.

{Spell} Memory refers to how many ‘Quickslots’ a magic caster can have in their arsenal. Usually from LVs and {Status} INT or WIS for respective classes. It has a long delay between unequipping and then equipping a {Spell} so it is advised for magic caster players to prepare beforehand on what kind of {Spell} in their ‘Quickslot’. Ooohhh, there are some {Skill} that can affect how many {Spell} Memory you have. Though, I don’t have any {Spell} Memory so that kind of {Skill} will be useless to have.

{Spell} Elements refer to how the 6 Elements interact with one another. I can see an image to present how their relationship is drawn cutely.

They still didn’t put up any {Spell} list. Probably to keep it a secret, they are Magic Caster's sword and shield after all...

A bit similar to the Physical class section. The damage is Piercing, Blunt, and Slashing. Some monsters have vulnerability against a particular style and resistance against another.

Wow... talk about fast, Pochi Mochi immediately put up a forum for the Event and also an Event page for O.w.O.

I can tell from many excited comments, there will be a lot of participants in the Event. Uuuuhhh... It made me a bit nervous.

I slapped my cheeks to calm myself down. Preparation is the key!

I went back to bed but not for sleep rather, I was eager to start playing O.w.O as I wear the helmet.

-Entering O.w.O-

“G’Morning, Gaia...”

My companion already stood beside me, rubbing his head on my waist like a cat begging for attention. I chuckled while obliging his requests for pets.

Okay... that is enough of pets, today I have a lot of tasks to do after all...

First!

Opening up the players’ market, I checked on my sold potions. As expected, they all have been bought. Gaining all that Zeni, I decided to not convert them just yet as I wanted to do something.

Second!

This one is a bit more... about exploiting. As I browse the items of [Skill Book] and [Skill Upgrade Book]. I’m trying to find the size of it.

Hahahahaha... The Devs have predicted it, [Skill Book] is categorised as a Large item even though it looks small. But! [Skill Upgrade Book] is a Small item. I smirked as I extended my hand.

“[Create: Skill Upgrade Book (Common)]”

In an instant, 3 books appeared before me as I identified it as the only item that can upgrade {Skill}. My ability worked!!!!

Hehehehehehe~ I purposely didn’t convert Zeni for a backup plan if this doesn’t work, I’ll purchase them manually.

With these in hand, I spawned more [Skill Upgrade Books] with corresponding rarities and immediately upgraded almost all my {Skill} to its utmost level.

It's incredibly cheaty in a way and I intend to maximize my gains.

<Magic Up Max>, <Status Resistance Max>, <Enchanter Max>, <Alchemist Max>, and <Harvester Max>.

I still have <Crafter I> but that would be for another in-game day. Plus, there are some {Skill} that cannot be upgraded particularly {Skill} that doesn’t have Roman numerals attached.

Anyway! Let’s see what Max {Skill} provides. I don’t have high expectations since they are all (Common) {Skill} unlike my (Rare) <Crafting – All>.

Good! I huffed in satisfaction, Alchemist {Skill} allows me to add more ingredients to the cauldron, and make even stronger potions, and adding Catalyst doesn’t consume the ingredients slot. Enchanter {Skill} gives me a reduced cost for enchanting, giving them a higher EP gauge for prolonged usage, and I can enchant contradictory elements {Spell} to an imbued item with less cost.

Harvester {Skill} gives me more yield and a chance to get High-Quality versions from any gathering point instead of just plants.

I suspect this is where other players commonly get their High-Quality ingredients or materials from.

My resources are a bit special after all. I gaze at the deer beside me. He folded his legs and sat while I did the same enjoying the breeze within the safety of my temple.

Magic Up {Skill} gives me higher power in damaging {Spell} nothing special as presumably all magic casters who are in DPS role would have this {Skill} maxed out anyway. The same can be said with Status Resistance {Skill} all players would’ve gained this {Skill} and upgraded them.

I went back to the players' market as I had a newly added task to do.

Third!

Browsing the players’ market, I looked at seeds and plants. Especially, plants that have similar effects to ‘Black Rose’ ‘Snow Root’ ‘Wind Blume’. I have plans for them as I can add in total of 6 ingredients to the cauldron.

Once I found them, without giving a second thought I purchased the seeds and the plants. Unfortunately, it doesn’t say their habitats so I am not sure where to plant it. Let’s go with the default...

I decided to plant them in my Mini Deep Woods. Simply giving the seeds to Mr. One, it took the seed and began to do all the necessary steps.

Once that’s done, I converted the usual 70% to IRL money and kept the rest. Returning to the central location in the temple, it seems I took too long of a trip and Gaia has taken a nap. His steady breaths and peaceful expression show how safe this place is. With this, most of the housekeeping stuff is done for now.

The next task would be, I’m thinking of gathering woods and stones in Lainore Forest plus the unique blue trees of Astera as well.

Plus! I need to find and explore Lainore more. I missed out on their harvestable ingredients and found more dungeons.

However... the higher-level spots are inaccessible to me. Let’s just scour around spots that have the same level as me!

I give a gentle peck to Gaia’s head. Where the herbivore still sleeps ever so peacefully as I teleport to Astera.

Right! I almost forgot I need to check in with the adventure’s guild to see what kind of requests are present.

-Astera’s Adventurer’s Guild-

The interior design and architecture of this guild are similar to the ones in Frontera including the uniform that the staff wears. Which is good as it is easy for players to recognize and utilise.

I looked at the request board and several panels showing what kind of requests I’d expect to get.

Based on what I see, all of these requests can be completed in Lainore Forest. There is the usual slaying the world boss, killing creatures, getting rare drops, and gathering materials and/or ingredients. Including a special request for me as a Rank D adventurer.

I still have a few ways to go before becoming a C-rank adventurer. Might as well take some gathering requests. I and Siegfried agreed to raise our levels tonight but not to the point of reaching LV60 probably 57-59-ish. So, I’ll exclude all the slaying and gathering rare monster drops.

Hold on a minute, I recognise these plants?

Bright Lily, Torch Weed, and Earthen Moss. They are all the things I purchased in the players' market. Ahhhh I see, their habitat is Lainore Forest. Hmmmm... does that mean Black Rose, Snow Root, and Wind Blume can also grow in there?

It would be nice if it did, all 6 elemental plants in one Biome would save up a lot of space but then it won’t match the aesthetic, will they?

Hmmmm... Lainore Forest also shares similarities to Deep Woods, maybe the herbs can also grow there too?

I won’t know until I try, so I’m going to start gathering stones and wood then!

After spending an hour gathering stones and wood. I have had enough of them and decided to utilize my ability to create. By spawning more [Skill Upgrade Books] in each rarity. I’m going to use the Zeni leftovers to purchase Adamantine Ore instead.

I think, If willy-nilly sold the books in bulk the devs would get suspicious. So I better store it in my Safe Inventory and sell it in small batches.

Bright Lily as the name suggests only grows in spots where patches of sunlight are the most intense within the clearings of Lainore Forest.

While Torch Weed can be found in dark places, they faintly glow like embers giving away their location rather easily.

Earthen Moss can be found at the back of rocks, if I lift it slightly I can see the moss hiding away. Due to my Harvester {Skill}, a single gathering spot yielded triple the usual amount. Though, not as OP as Gaia’s... still handy if I go out alone like this. I get a handful of their seeds, normal quality, and by chance with the help of [Guidance] High Quality version.

Done with the common rarity of these ingredients, I venture around to find other variants.

-2 Hours Later-

Hmmmm. I found the uncommon and rare variant of these plants. But man! The monsters are so persistent...

Once they found my tracks, they simply sniffed the air to find me. I don’t know the AI can do that! I used [Clean] on myself several times in hopes the {Spell} works. I am glad it did...

Anyway! The plants.

Bubble Lily is found at the bottom of the valleys, or inside a lake where water element creatures lurk. They can give water breathing effect and increase swimming speed when consumed.

Smoke Weed is found in places where a red-looking giant lizard named salamander lurks. It exudes smoke and also smelt like one. As an uncommon variant, it is a wild card. This weed when burnt will produce a smoke screen preventing vision.

Stave Moss is found in empty lots where no monsters lurk. This one is harder to find than the rest of the uncommon variants as the only clue is that. No critters, monsters, or living things will be around. The scent is quite foul so bad in fact that I need to hold my breath to approach it. The effect of this stave Moss is interesting as when consumed, creatures will no longer approach me.

Luminous Lily, Scorch Weed, and Evergreen Moss. Found deep inside Lainore forest, with the help of [Invisibility], [Incorporeal], and a touch of [Misdirection] or [Mirror Image]. I can slip past most of the monsters here. Well... if they are within my LV range of course.

Haaa.... My curiosity will soon be the end of me as I venture deeper hoping to find more ingredients. Lainore Forest has an LV range between 50 to 100, so it would make sense to have more ingredients! Right? Right!?

Exploring more, my hunch was correct! I found other ingredients plus familiar ones like Vitality Herb and their variants.

Peace Bloom, Silver Thorn, and Steel Cap. Their rarity is (Rare) and I didn’t see any of their variants even after scouring the area for an additional 2 hours or so. Safe to say, they don’t have variants.

The effects are quite simple too...

They boost specific {Status}, Peace Bloom boosts INT and WIS, Silver Thorn boosts AGI and DEX, and Steel Cap boosts STR and CON.

While gathering enough ingredients, I checked the time.

Ouh? It’s already mid-day, time goes by so fast once you get fully immersed in it. With a sigh, I teleported to My Home and promptly logged out once I auto-crafted ‘Furniture’ for Astera and Lainore Forest decor.
