Oops, I Accidentally Ascended to Godhood

Chapter 39: Second Day

"Uhh…"

With a grunt, Tarkan opened his eyes. This was the second time he'd been reduced to such a state since he transmigrated here. He hadn't had a single pleasant day since coming into this world.

His first sixteen years were spent training and struggling in an unknown forest.

He'd thought he would finally be free to explore the world once he completed his awakening.

Entering the awakening Dimension would be easy, something he could breeze past. And in some ways, he did… but also didn't. It had been a complicated and depressing ordeal.

After completing his awakening, he entered the First Dimension, thinking it would be the beginning of wealth and freedom. He thought he would rise, ascend beyond it, and enter the real battlefield of ascension.

But he was thwarted by Cassian.

Cassian didn't just violate him, he almost killed him. He only survived because Cassian underestimated him.

And just when he was injured, the Zumbra appeared.

It felt like fate wanted him dead.

Thinking about it now, his life in this world was just too depressing.

He helped himself sit up, his back pressing against a tree. Tarkan checked his body. There were no wounds, no bruises, and no pain.

His body was in perfect condition, almost as if the whole battle had been nothing but a bad dream.

But the scene around him, and the lingering, metallic taste of death, was still fresh in his mind.

Even so, he felt so weak. Not hurt… weak in ways he couldn't quit pinpoint.

Checking his interface, Tarkan couldn't help but feel a wave of shock and horror.

All his Prime Points were back to zero. The A-Rank talent he'd comprehended from Cassian… gone.

Tarkan felt a deep, bitter sadness.

He'd used that A-Rank talent to pat himself on the back, to reassure himself that he at least gained something from the violation Cassian inflicted upon him. But now, even that small compensation was lost.

His mood hit rock bottom.

All the hard work he'd gone through to gather Prime Points.. all for nothing.

He knew Revert had saved his life, but wasn't this punishment a little too harsh? He hadn't even been in the right state of mind to calculate time or set specifics. At the very least, he should've been able to keep his Feral Points…

Coming out of his thoughts, his eyes scanned the area.

All around him were Zumbra corpses. Their heads were burst open and punctured, but oddly enough, their backsides were still intact.

His eyes lit up instantly, pushing away the fog of his depression.

He hurried to his feet and sprinted toward the bodies. A few meters away, he saw his sword, still lying on the ground from the earlier battle.

Picking it up quickly, he rushed to one of the Zumbra-like creatures.

He sliced open its backside with the blade. As the cut opened, a stream of orange liquid came into view.

Tarkan nearly cried from joy at the sight.

Without hesitation, he used his hand to scoop the juice into his mouth.

Seeing the numbers go up, Tarkan didn't stop.

He drained the orange liquid from the first Zumbra corpse and gained three more points.

Moving quickly to the next one, he repeated the process.

One by one, corpse after corpse, he sliced their backsides and drank the juice. He continued until the Prime Points stopped increasing.

"Ha…"

Tarkan couldn't help but grin. His mood lightened instantly.

He felt like his strength had tripled. He could easily beat his old self now.

Beneath his feet lay the corpse of the Zumbra Queen.

Even in death, her body still exuded pressure. That alone spoke volumes about how formidable of a foe she was.

He remembered that moment, the moment he'd lost control.

His body had acted on its own, fueled by a primal craving. Blood. That was all it had desired.

Everything in him had burned for it. The desire was maddening, overwhelming, absolute.

Bringing himself back from that memory, Tarkan walked toward the now-dead Crowned-tier creature.

He reached the backside and sliced it open. To his surprise, it was easier than he'd expected.

Reaching in, he scooped the orange liquid and drank it all.

Three Crowned Points gained.

Tarkan scanned the area. Finding it a safe place for him to camp.

He had no doubt, he'd wiped out an entire lineage of Zumbras. If any had been left, they would've appeared to protect their queen.

Walking around, he started gathering dry wood and branches.

He built a campfire, then set up a roasting stand. With practiced movements, he sliced chunks of soft crowned tier meat and roasted them over the fire.

The sizzling meat smelled… weirdly pleasant.

He chewed through it like a man starved.

Finishing the meat, his Crowned Points rose again.

Still hungry, he went back to the remains, carving off more roasted pieces and finishing them all.

Tarkan patted his rounded stomach with a satisfied grin. It was glowing faintly, as if threatening to burst..

Looking around the area, he noticed a small hole in the trunk of a large tree, just enough space for someone to slip inside.

He'd been searching for a secure place to activate the mark and teleport. Now he found one.

He needed to leave the dimension and meet up with Slim.

He'd told Slim to exit the dimension before entering, thinking at that time he'd get enough money for both of them to head into the city, find a place to stay, so as whenever they are teleporting out of the dimension, it should be in a save and secure place.

He'd told him to teleport out by the second day.

Tarkan glanced at the surrounding monster corpses. A strange pang of regret hit him.

If only he could take them back to the settlement… he could've been a rich man.

But the thought of going back to the settlement just for money?

Not worth it. He wasn't about to die chasing small gains.

Cross-legged, he sat down in front of the tree.

Looking at his wrist, he activated the mark.

It was time to leave this realm.
