Chapter 557 You Have Arrived, Like a God
"The new era's… Divine…"
The moderate tones echoed within the Prophetic Temple.
He wanted to understand if the new era would awaken any Divine in self-consciousness?
Or rather, what world would the new era bring to the Divine?
It sounded so effortless…
Kagawus was slightly astonished, then he opened his mouth, subconsciously wanting to agree.
"The new era's Divine…"
Suddenly, Kagawus thought of something.
The Divine mentioned by the Great Angel…
Was it really referring to the Gods of the Celestial Kingdom?
Or was it referring to… our Father in Heaven?
At that thought, Kagawus grew even more astonished, anxiously watching Schiller; the Great Angel's words were so ambiguous that he also found it elusive.
If it was the former, the reason was nothing but to understand the movements of the Gods and fulfill his mission.
But what if it was the latter?
Why would God's Great Angel seek to glimpse the Father's movements through a prophecy?
Even though it wasn't utterly terrifying upon deeper thought, Kagawus still felt that the entire matter was fraught with doubts.
Thus, the Prophetic God couldn't help but ask aloud,
"Great Angel, I usually do not inquire why someone seeks a prophecy."
"However, the prophecy you are request compels me to ask, why exactly do you seek this prophecy?"
Facing Kagawus's question, Schiller looked directly at the God of Prophecy,
"Do you insist on knowing?"
That question sounded somewhat icy.
Even the Prophetic God felt a hint of panic being chilled.
However, He would not dispel His doubts.
Even though Schiller's purpose in seeking the prophecy was more likely the former.
Just as Kagawus was about to speak, unexpectedly, Schiller spoke first.
"Prophetic God, I see your fear."
"I also know you are doubtful."
"If you must ask my reason, then I want to tell you, I do not know what it is."
Kagawus looked at Schiller and said,
"Are you saying, you seek this prophecy without a definite reason?"
Schiller nodded slightly,
"Indeed."
"The only reason, is my intuition."
Seeing Kagawus still hesitating, Schiller let out a sigh and continued,
"What are you worried about, Kagawus?"
"I am God's Great Angel, serving at God's side, now receiving the mission to act like the Prophet in accordance with God's will."
"With that being so, what do you have to worry about?"
Kagawus initially still wanted to refuse, but at that moment, he wavered again.
Indeed, as the Father's Great Angel, and burdened with a mission, such a Schiller's actions must have God's will within, let alone thoughts of disobedience—he wouldn't even entertain them.
Perhaps, it was just his own overthinking.
Watching the Prophetic God, Schiller, who held Angel Grace, caught the change in Kagawus's emotions.
Thus, he spoke again,
"Prophetic God, I guess I know your biggest concern."
"I heard that the prophecy regarding Heaven's descent had grievously harmed you, taking a thousand years to recover completely."
Kagawus was quite surprised; Schiller's words struck at His very soul.
"You are right, my hesitation is because this prophecy might force me to pay an unacceptable price."
Hiss, hiss.
Within the Temple, the sound of the Great Angel sighing again echoed.
"Then, let me bear this cost."
Schiller slowly said,
"I can use God's path-creating power to transfer the cost of your prophecy to me."
The Great Angel's promise was comforting.
Comforting…like the bewitching serpent spoken of by the Elves Exiles.
Upon hearing this, Kagawus pondered briefly, then finally nodded in agreement.
The terms Schiller proposed made it impossible for Him to refuse.
After this prophecy, He would receive an opportunity for the Great Angel's assistance.
Moreover, He would not have to bear the cost of the prophecy himself.
It was indeed a no-cost business.
At that thought, Kagawus couldn't help but mock himself silently:
"All races say the Three-eyed Ape People are born merchants, but little do they know the God of the Three-eyed Ape People is also equally calculating."
After mocking himself, Kagawus lifted his head and said,
"Then, let us begin now."
.............
Within the Celestial Kingdom, the orange-yellow Prophetic Star, in the deep pitch-black sky, emitted an extremely dazzling light.
That light made many Divine pause in their tasks to look sideways.
Kagawus, who usually never left his doors, was going to prophecy today?
And judging by the light, it seemed the prophecy he sought was extraordinarily grand.
The Gods were utterly astonished.
They all speculated: was Kagawus prophesying for himself or someone else? What would be the content of the prophecy? If it was for someone else, then who was worthy enough to make Kagawus act?
And on the brilliantly radiant Prophetic Star.
Great Angel Schiller stood at the peak of the Prophetic Temple, the starlight bursting forth and spiraling towards him like being in the eye of a storm.
Schiller felt the enormous Prophetic Divine Power, attempting to manipulate those power eddies.
As more Divine Power surged from the Prophetic Star, Schiller drew in more and more power eddies, more lights of prophecy gathering and completely enveloping the Great Angel's Six Wings.
The massive prophetic power gradually condensed into a singularity in the vortex, the surrounding light and shadows starting to blur and overlap slowly, rendering all visible scenes unclear.
