Chapter 441: Medusa’s Trump Card, The Paladins of Light

Medusa coldly stared at John, showing no fear. She spoke, "Human, don't push things too far. You've already offended the Celestial Vault, and now you're going against the forces behind me. That won't end well for you."

John furrowed his brows involuntarily; this guy seemed to have some sort of backing.

Could it be that there's an Emperor-level powerhouse behind him?

John didn't really care about that. He calmly replied, "I might spare your life, but you'll need to tell me how to enter the Mountains of Immortals."

"Hmph, so you really are after this world." Medusa's gaze shifted to Spoorate beside him, her expression darkening as she shook her head, refusing. "You will never have this barren desert."

"Then there's no room for negotiation." John lost interest in talking any further and swiftly made his move.

"Damn it!" Medusa cursed, her massive serpent tail sweeping out—not toward John, but toward the nearby wall.

Boom!

The wall shattered, revealing a teleportation circle.

Buzz!

Spatial power rippled, and Holy Light flooded the area. A large group of armored warriors holding long spears appeared—almost a hundred of them.

The holy light illuminated the entire cave as the power of laws surged. These warriors were all Eight-Star powerhouses.

"Paladins of Light!" Sword Demon exclaimed in shock, glaring coldly at Medusa, his killing intent palpable. "You've allied with the Church of Light!"

The Paladins of Light were the Church of Light's unique guardians, extremely powerful, even more terrifying than the Black Magicians of the Celestial Vault.

As a member of Forest City, Sword Demon's hatred for the Church of Light ran far deeper than for the Celestial Vault.

"Hmph!" Medusa sneered coldly, her form shifting into a human. "I didn't want to reveal this, but since you already know, there's no chance for you to leave alive. Kill them!"

At her command, the Paladins of Light moved decisively. Their spears swept through the air, their movements perfectly coordinated.

Buzz!

Holy Light descended, and several beams of light shot toward them with a howling roar.

The air trembled, and the power of Spiritual energy surged. Explore more at empire

Their attacks even carried soul-damaging effects.

"Watch out!" John called out, stepping forward and positioning himself in front of the others.

Golden light flickered around him as he activated Diamond Body Protection.

Boom…

Several beams of light crashed down, and the terrifying force surged, causing the cave to collapse immediately.

John's golden aura dissipated around him, and a trickle of blood dripped from the corner of his mouth.

Although he managed to block the attack from the light magic, he couldn't defend against the soul damage.

"Kill them!" With an enraged shout, the Paladins of Light closed in, surrounding John and his companions.

"John, these guys are even more insidious than the Black Magicians!" Sword Demon gripped his long sword tightly, his expression grim as he warned.

"Holy Light, shine down!" One of the Paladins chanted, causing blinding light to explode from their bodies, enveloping the group.

John instinctively raised his hand to shield his eyes as waves of heat blasted through him. His head pulsed with sharp pain.

Another soul attack!

"Enter my World-in-Hand!" Fighting through the agony, he summoned Spoorate, Tracy, and the others into his World-in-Hand.

Their strength was too weak to block the soul attacks of the Paladins of Light.

Only John, Sini, Sword Demon, and Cand-Dragon remained on the scene.

All of them had ways to cultivate Spiritual power, enough to barely block the soul attacks of the Paladins of Light.

"John, these guys are one unified force. We must defeat them quickly, or they'll only grow stronger," Sword Demon warned again.

"Got it!" John responded with a nod. The wind howled around him as an overwhelming pressure filled the air. He transformed into a towering giant, bursting through the underground chamber.

"Judgment!" he roared, his Spiritual power surging, mixed with the overwhelming force of the heavens. It was a powerful soul attack as well.

Sini raised a longbow, drawing on the powers of the underworld, shaping them into arrows that screamed through the air.

Cand-Dragon and Sword Demon also focused their might, launching their most powerful attacks at the Paladins of Light.

The Paladins, however, showed no fear as they watched the oncoming assault.

"Guard!" another command was issued, and the light around the Paladins intertwined, forming a massive shield of light, like a towering wall.

Boom! Boom!

The attacks of John and his companions crashed against the shield, sending ripples across its surface.

Whether it was soul damage or skill-based attacks, everything was stopped.

Medusa emerged from the chamber and, seeing the scene, laughed maniacally. "Humans, this is the consequence of opposing me. Accept your fate, stop making futile struggles!"

John ignored her, his expression serious as he locked eyes with one of the Paladins of Light.

This one was at the peak of Eight-Star cultivation, and it was him who had been giving orders. It seemed he was the core of these Paladins.

"Break them down one by one. Focus on that one first!" John ordered coldly. Sword intent hummed around him, filled with an air of deadly intent. His sword domain spread out as the Four Extermination Swords howled and shot forward, carrying thousands of sword flashes that darkened the sky as they surged toward the leading Paladin.

The Paladin looked up at the storm of sword lights. His expression remained as calm as a still pond, showing no sign of fear or surprise.

"Guardian Spirit!" he calmly commanded. In an instant, all the Paladins gathered behind him, as if all the power of light had been concentrated into one being.

Whoosh!

The power of laws surged as a massive guardian deity formed before them.

Buzz...

The endless storm of swords descended, but every single blade was blocked by the towering figure of the guardian, without so much as a scratch.

"What in the world is this?" John frowned deeply. He could clearly feel that the individual Paladins were not particularly strong.

Any one of them, he could easily cut down. But when they gathered like this, it was as if they became invincible, their combined strength defying all logic.

He couldn't help but recall Sword Demon's words: these Paladins of Light were a unified force.

World-in-Hand!

An idea struck John. Since these guys couldn't be taken down one by one, he'd have to scatter them.

He turned to Sini and the others and instructed, "Do your best to hold them off!"

With that, he activated Spatial power, opening World-in-Hand, and immediately pulled the lead Paladin into it.

"Hmm, not good!" Medusa's expression changed slightly as she realized his intent.

She was about to make a move when Sword Demon locked onto her. "Medusa, you won't get a chance to act."

Sword Demon was already wounded, and with World-in-Hand destroyed and his soul taking backlash, he was no longer a match for Medusa.

Sini and Cand-Dragon were engaged with the remaining Paladins of Light.

With the leader now trapped in World-in-Hand, the strength of the remaining Paladins hadn't been significantly affected.

The two of them could barely hold off the Paladins' attacks, but they couldn't last much longer.

World-in-Hand.

John and the lead Paladin appeared within the space.

"Huh, such a unique world?" The Paladin surveyed his surroundings, slightly startled but not overly concerned.

To him, John wasn't that strong. He thought destroying this world and escaping would be an easy task.

"Hmm, Paladin of Light?" Gaka, sensing the aura of light, was startled awake and asked in confusion, "John, where are you? How did you get involved with the Paladins of Light?"

He seemed quite wary of them.

John was speechless, explaining, "These guys were summoned by Medusa."

"What? That bastard is in cahoots with the Church of Light?" Gaka's voice was filled with fury. He had known Medusa had betrayed him, but he never imagined she would go so far as to ally with the Church of Light.

"Such powerful life force!" The Paladin of Light finally noticed the Tree of Life, his face showing shock and greedy desire.

"Human, your World-in-Hand, I'll be taking it!" he declared, decisively launching himself toward John.

Buzz!

The long spear vibrated, and the power of light surged. Even without the aid of other Paladins, his strength was formidable.

But John showed no fear.

This was his World-in-Hand, fortified by the power of laws.

"Flying Sword Strike!" he shouted, and a sword beam sliced through the air like a shooting star, slashing toward the Paladin of Light.

Boom!

The overwhelming power of laws surged, and the Paladin was blasted away.

John remained steady in midair, giving him no chance to react. Waves of power of laws surged around him, with endless sword beams and a storm of magic bombarding the Paladin.

"You brat, I underestimated your power!" The Paladin exclaimed, his body quickly gathering the power of laws into a shield of light, attempting to block John's assault.

Crack!

In an instant, the light shield shattered, and his figure was engulfed by the storm of sword beams and magical attacks.

Energy raged, and winds howled.

Cough!

A light cough echoed. The Paladin half-knelt on the ground, propping himself up with his spear, barely managing to stay on his feet.

"Not dead yet?" John hadn't expected this guy's defenses to be so formidable.

Even so, despite still being alive, the Paladin was severely wounded, his strength significantly diminished.

"You're from that Initial World! Cough..." The Paladin exclaimed in surprise, seemingly having figured out John's identity, before coughing up more blood and swaying unsteadily.

John frowned, too lazy to waste words. With a flick of his hand, four sharp sword beams shot into the sky.

Four Extermination Swords.

He activated Sword Mastery, and with a single thought, the four longswords whirled around him, lashing out toward the Paladin.

"No..." The Paladin let out a howl of frustration, but in an instant, the four sword beams shredded him to pieces, leaving nothing but ashes.

[You have slain an Eight-Star Paladin of Light. Plunder ability activated.]

[Spirit +10,000, Soul Technique +1,000, Light Element Body Conversion +1%.]

The prompt flashed across John's mind, and he felt his Plunder ability trigger.

He had actually plundered the Light Element Body!

John was pleasantly surprised. He had already converted the four basic elemental bodies and the Body of Dark Elements and had even comprehended parts of the Dark Heaven's power of laws.

Now it seemed that all these Paladins of Light had converted into the Light Element Body. If he killed them all, he might be able to fully convert it to 100%.

Buzz...

The light shimmered, and as the lead Paladin fell, two Hearts of the Continent dropped, containing immense light power of laws.

However, they had already been refined.

John didn't mind, casually collecting them.

"John, where's Medusa?" Gaka's voice came through. Knowing that Medusa had allied with the Church of Light, Gaka was determined to kill her no matter what.
