"Official crew member?!"
The Golden Lion's eyes widened in surprise at Rocks' declaration.
After a moment of shock, his expression shifted into a sly grin. "Well, I can't argue with that. A tough kid like him definitely deserves to be an official crew member on the Rocks Pirates."
He glanced at Ares and added, "His strength speaks for itself. I doubt even many of the official crew members couldn't take him down."
Whitebeard stepped forward, his expression unusually serious. Turning to Rocks, he said firmly, "Captain Rocks, let Ares join my squad."
Whitebeard's intentions were clear—he wanted Ares on his team. With proper training, Ares could become an incredible asset.
Before Rocks could respond, an angry voice rang out.
"A*hole!!! Ares should join my squad!"**
Golden Lion Shiki, clearly unwilling to lose the boy, used the powers of his Piao Piao no Mi to appear beside Whitebeard. His gaze turned to Rocks as he hurriedly added, "Captain, I like that boy Ares. Let him join my squad instead!"
Whitebeard's face darkened at Shiki's interference. Turning to the Golden Lion, he growled, "Yellow-haired lion, do you want me to throw you into the sea?"
Not backing down, Shiki snapped, "Whitebeard, believe it or not, I'll cut off that ridiculous beard of yours!"
The two towering figures squared off, their foreheads nearly touching, neither willing to concede.
"Ares is mine!"
"I liked him first!"
"He's joining my squad!"
"No, he'll join mine!"
Their heated argument quickly escalated, sparks flying between their furious gazes.
Suddenly, a low, sultry voice interrupted the commotion.
"That boy Ares…"
The entire crowd turned as Charlotte Linlin strode forward, her devilish figure towering over most of the pirates. Her eyes gleamed with desire as she declared:
"I'm interested in him!"
Her words were a clear announcement: Ares belonged to her.
Whitebeard and Shiki immediately turned to her, their voices rising in unison:
"No!!!"
Their rejection rang out loud and clear, but Linlin didn't flinch. Her confidence was unwavering, and her intent was obvious.
Meanwhile, the other pirates looked on, stunned. It wasn't every day you saw captains fighting over a recruit. Jealousy flashed in the eyes of many crew members.
"If only they fought this hard over me," some muttered bitterly.
As the captains bickered, a loud exclamation suddenly drew everyone's attention.
"Is this kid okay?!" Captain John shouted in disbelief, pointing toward Ares.
All heads turned toward Ares, who stood a few hundred meters away.
Though blood trickled from the corner of his mouth, he appeared unscathed, walking toward the group with a steady gait.
A collective gasp rippled through the crowd.
"He's fine?! After Captain Rocks punched him like that?!"
Ochoku's jaw dropped. "Even with the captain holding back, that punch could've incapacitated most of us. Yet he's walking like nothing happened!"
Silver Axe added, equally astonished, "We underestimated him. His body… What is this kid?!"
Long Bread, Linlin's longtime companion, watched with a mixture of fascination and dread. The thought crept into his mind:
"Is his body as abnormal as Linlin's? Could there really be another monster like her in this world?"
He shuddered at the idea. Linlin's infamous "steel balloon" physique was already unparalleled. Breaking through her defenses without the strongest Haki was nearly impossible.
Yet here was Ares, seemingly just as indestructible.
An even bolder thought took root in Long Bread's mind.
"If Ares and Linlin joined forces—if they had children…"
His imagination ran wild: a family of unstoppable monsters, a legacy that could dominate the seas.
The vision of Linlin and Ares standing side by side, surrounded by their powerful offspring, left him breathless.
"The possibilities…" His breathing quickened, his face alight with excitement.
Meanwhile, Ares followed Captain John, his steps steady but his mind elsewhere.
"How can his body be stronger than mine? How could he so easily overpower me?" Ares replayed the moment of Rocks' punch in his mind, dissecting every detail like a rewinding tape.
The more he thought, the more his desire to grow stronger intensified.
Lost in thought, Ares unconsciously began mimicking Rocks' punch.
The air stirred as Ares' fist cut through it. A sharp wind howled, growing louder with each movement.
John's eyes widened in horror as he turned to the boy. "Ares… Are you trying to imitate Captain Rocks?!"
The sheer force of Ares' strikes was astounding. Each swing seemed to stir the very air around him.
John stared at him, his voice trembling. "What kind of monster are you?!"
It was clear to everyone now—Ares was no ordinary recruit.
