Chapter 16: Chapter:16
"What?! The Golden Lion?! How did he fly out of Skull Castle?!"
"Did he get into a fight with Whitebeard?!"
The crowd's murmurs buzzed around the streets as onlookers stared in shock at the Golden Lion, who had been unceremoniously ejected from Skull Castle.
Shiki's face twisted in annoyance as he brushed the dust off himself. Looking back up at the castle, he cursed under his breath:
"That little brat! He drank too much and tossed me like trash… damn it!"
Before he could finish venting his frustration, a thunderous roar erupted from the castle.
"I WANT MORE WINE!!!"
The voice was deafening, shaking the very air. The sound wave shattered the remaining glass in Skull Castle, sending shards raining down like glittering snow.
Pedestrians clutched their ears, grimacing in pain as the ground seemed to rumble beneath them.
"Whose voice is that?!"
"It's like thunder! And… drinking? What's going on?!"
"This is the Rocks Pirates' base! Who's causing trouble here?!"
The confusion spread like wildfire. Onlookers stared at Skull Castle in awe and fear, unsure of what kind of monster could make such a sound.
Shiki's expression paled as realization dawned.
"No way… that guy's drunk and going berserk?!"
Grimacing, he muttered to himself: "I've gotta stop him before he wrecks the castle… or worse."
With a flash, Shiki activated his Piao Piao no Mi powers and flew back toward his room.
As he approached, another BOOM shook the castle. The wall near his room exploded outward in a cloud of dust and rubble.
Ares' towering figure emerged through the hole, his massive, muscular frame on full display. His intoxicated eyes burned with confusion and rage.
Spotting Shiki, Ares pointed at him and bellowed:
"GOLDEN LION! I WANT WINE!!!"
The force of Ares' voice sent a wave of alcohol-laced wind barreling toward Shiki, making the seasoned pirate grimace as the pungent smell hit him full force.
"This guy's completely gone," Shiki muttered, his irritation growing. "Captain Rocks is gonna kill me if this idiot tears the whole place down."
Shiki didn't draw his swords; instead, he decided to teach the drunken brute a lesson. With a swift motion, his arm darkened, shimmering with the polished black shine of Armament Haki.
Grinning, he cracked his knuckles. "Boy, you wanna know about Armament Haki? Fine, I'll show you firsthand!"
Shiki darted forward with lightning speed, aiming his Haki-infused fist at Ares' head.
Bang!
The punch connected with a resounding thud, sending Ares flying backward. His massive body crashed through furniture and walls, eventually bringing down an entire section of the castle.
Shiki smirked, hovering in the air as he watched the destruction unfold.
"That's Armament Haki for you, kid. With this power, I could even make Kaido bleed."
He flew toward the rubble, fully expecting Ares to be down for the count.
But before he could reach the debris, a loud crack split the air as stones and timber were thrown aside.
Ares emerged, his colossal figure standing tall, his beast-like eyes glaring at Shiki.
"Hey, you're still—" Shiki began, but his words were cut off as Ares' fist came hurtling toward him.
Bang!
The punch landed square on Shiki's face, distorting his features and sending his cigar flying. Like a cannonball, Shiki was launched through the air, smashing through another wall and crashing onto the street below.
Passersby gasped, their eyes wide in disbelief.
"Did… did someone just punch the Golden Lion?!"
"Who could do that?!"
Whispers spread like wildfire as the dust settled, revealing Shiki sprawled in a crater. His once-dignified appearance was now marred by a swollen purple lump near his eye, blood trickling down the side of his face.
Shiki's face burned with embarrassment as he slowly stood. "That damn brat," he growled. "I try to teach him something, and he pays me back with a punch?!"
His golden hair, now disheveled, bristled like a lion's mane.
Taking a deep breath, Shiki's voice dropped to a cold snarl. "You idiots, shut up!"
With that, he unleashed a wave of Conqueror's Haki, silencing the crowd as dozens of onlookers collapsed unconscious. The air grew heavy, and those still standing felt a chill run down their spines.
But the silence didn't last.
Suddenly, a massive shadow loomed over the street, blotting out the sunlight. Onlookers craned their necks to see the enormous figure of Ares standing atop the shattered remnants of the castle wall.
Ares' bloodshot eyes locked onto Shiki, his drunken state fueling his fury.
"HOW DARE YOU ATTACK ME?!" he roared, his voice shaking the ground.
The crowd trembled as Ares pointed an accusing finger at Shiki.
"GOLDEN LION! COME AND DIE!!!"
