One Wild Night

Chapter 1005: Dramatic

"You did what? Are you crazy?" Sonia asked with disbelief as Lucy told her about not only forgiving Anita but letting her join the GEL club.

Sonia had been unable to attend the meeting because of her doctor's appointment and couple pregnancy class with Bryan.

She had called to let Lucy know that she had seen the interview and to find out how the meeting went, only to be told about Anita becoming a new member.

"Relax. Everyone deserves a second chance," Lucy said softly.

"No, Lucy. Not everyone. There are some you forgive and never cross paths with again. And Anita is one of those. Have you forgotten all she did? Don't tell me Tom is in support of this art of kindness? Wait. Is he going to employ her back to the company, too?" She asked dryly and Lucy laughed.

"But seriously, have you told Tom? Is he okay with your decision?" Sonia asked and Lucy sighed.

"I haven't told him yet. He's not yet back from the office. But I will tell him when he gets back. It's not like I made her my bff. We only belong to a club. It's not that deep," Lucy said, and Sonia snorted.

"It is. As a club member she will be at your wedding, wouldn't she?" Sonia asked, and Lucy groaned as she adjusted on her bed.

"You're being dramatic. Can you just calm down?"

"No, I can't. I can't believe Jade supported your decision. I'm absent for just one meeting and you're adding a snake to the group. I'm sure if their witch of a Mom was still alive you'd add her too. You want to turn the club to a reform group," Sonia said angrily, and Lucy laughed.

"Their mother manipulated them all and she has paid for her crimes. Her daughters do not need to keep being punished for it," Lucy said, and Sonia rolled her eyes.

"I'm never going to be cordial with her. That's what best friends do. We hate your enemies more than you do," she said, and Lucy giggled.

"She is not my enemy anymore," Lucy pointed out.

"Well, she is mine. At this point y'all are going to have to fix meeting days for me and for her. We won't attend the meetings on the same dates else I'm going to beef her all through. And her gemstone is going to be opal because its color is like the eyes of the snake that she is," Sonia said, and Lucy laughed out loud.

"Have I ever told you that I love your crazy ass?" She asked, and Sonia rolled her eyes.

"You don't have a choice. Anyway, we need to see tomorrow and decide on the venue. And about your outfit…"

"I told you already. I'm making my own dress. I'm starting a bridal line. And I will be launching it with my wedding dress," Lucy said with pride.

"Yeah. You said that. Well, thankfully, we are using the same vendors we used for mine so it's less stressful. It's a shame that I can't be your maid of honor," Sonia said with a sigh.

"You're the one who chose not to do it. I already told you I don't mind…"

"I do. Right now I can barely stay still. I need to empty my bladder every couple of minutes and my fatigue is on a different level. I could doze off while talking to you," she said with a yawn and Lucy giggled.

"I'm sorry I didn't put that into consideration when choosing the wedding date," Lucy said, and Sonia sighed.

"It's fine. Even if I can't stand next to you, I will watch you shine from the front row. Let's hope the pregnancy goes easy on you," Sonia said, and Lucy nodded. Continue your story on empire

"I'm praying so. Your symptoms came before you knew you were pregnant, right? I feel okay," Lucy said, and Sonia nodded.

"Let's hope you keep feeling okay. When are we telling Jade that she gets to be your maid of honor?" Sonia asked with a grin, and Lucy giggled.

"When we hand out the boxes to the bridal train. I'd like to capture the moment," she said, and Sonia giggled, equally excited to see Jade's reaction.

Lucy looked up with a grin when the bedroom door opened and Tom waltzed in with a bouquet of roses, "Where is my beautiful fiancée?"

"My fiancé is back. See you tomorrow," Lucy said as she quickly got off the bed and Sonia shook her head with an amused smile as she hung up.

"Is that for me?" Lucy asked with a grin as she received the bouquet from him.

"Who else but you, my Queen?" He asked, taking her hand and spinning her around as she giggled.

"You're in a really good mood," she observed as she kissed him and set aside the flowers.

"Coming back home to my beautiful pregnant fiancee is enough to put me in a good mood all year long," Tom said and she laughed softly.

"I guess you had a good day at work?" She asked as she helped him loosen his tie.

"Yeah. I did. How did your meeting with the girls go?" He asked, letting her take off his coat.

"It was nice. Anita was there," she said, and he paused, his brows pulling together.

"Why?"

Lucy shrugged, trying to sound casual about it, "She wanted to see me and apologize in person. I forgave her," she said as she continued to unbutton his shirt without meeting his gaze.

Tom watched her face closely. "What else happened?"

"Like?"

"Like the reason you're not meeting my gaze. What did you do?" He asked, and she sighed.

"First promise me you won't be mad," she said, and his brows pulled together.

"I can't promise you that, but I can promise to try to be understanding," he said, and she nodded.

"I invited her to join the club," she said, and Tom looked at her for a moment.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" He asked after a while.

Lucy shrugged, "Her sisters are members. And Lisa vouched for her. As long as Aaron is involved with Debby, who is now like a mother figure to Anita and her sisters, we are going to be seeing them more often. So, I don't see why not."

Tom sighed, "Okay. But just don't get too close, okay?" He said, and she nodded.

"I promise," she said, grateful that Tom wasn't reacting like Sonia had done.

After Tom freshened up, they went downstairs together for dinner before calling it a night.
