One Punch Man: "The hell!! Did I transmigrate as King?"

Chapter 31: Carbonate Bombs: Dragnet!

Kaito believed that a hero should not shed both blood and tears.

He quickly patted Genos on the shoulder.

"Genos! Come with me and intercept those fragments!"

Genos immediately understood, and both of them simultaneously assumed a combat stance.

Kaito took a deep breath, letting his thoughts sink into the system:

[Intimidation Points - 600]

[Ding! Skill "Carbonated Gas Bomb" proficiency has been raised to "Mastery" (0/3000)!]

[Effect Update: Carbonation concentration and corrosiveness have reached their peak, allowing for precise guidance and area control!]

A new surge of power flooded through him, and it felt as though every cell in his body was cheering.

Without the slightest hesitation, Kaito held his hands flat, palms facing upward, fingers slightly spread—

Carbonated Gas Bomb: Heavenly Net and Earthly Trap!

"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—!"

Hundreds of dark green light projectiles shot from his palms, each one precisely locking onto a meteorite fragment. They traced graceful arcs through the air, forming a vast net that completely enveloped the rain of falling fire.

At the same time, Genos unleashed his full power.

"Incineration Cannon: Modified!"

The armor plates on his arms snapped open, revealing the intricate energy matrix beneath. Dazzling blue-white beams shot into the sky like blades of light, perfectly complementing Kaito's Carbonated Gas Bomb.

"Boom, boom, boom—!"

Continuous explosions echoed over Z City. Meteorite fragments large enough to obliterate entire blocks were pulverized into harmless dust under their combined assault.

Bang Gu looked up at the breathtaking interception, the shock in his eyes beyond words.

He murmured, "Are the young people nowadays… all this terrifying?"

When the last fragment was destroyed, the entire city fell into a moment of stunned silence—

—and then erupted in cheers.

"We're saved!"

"It's heroes! Heroes saved us!"

"That's King! And the Demon Cyborg and Silver Fang!"

People hugged one another, tears streaming down their faces; some even knelt to give thanks to heaven.

No one knew that the one who had truly saved them was actually the bald man currently in freefall.

"Phew…" Kaito let out a long sigh, wiping sweat from his forehead. Though the battle had drained much of his strength, seeing the city unharmed filled him with deep satisfaction.

Genos, equally exhausted, walked to the edge of the rooftop and glanced upward with concern.

"Teacher, he—"

Before he could finish, a yellow figure dropped onto the rooftop with a heavy thud, creating yet another crater in the already fragile concrete.

Saitama dusted off his cape and stood upright, expression flat.

"It's settled."

Bang Gu flashed forward, grasping Saitama's hand in excitement.

"This… this…! This old man is Silver Fang Bang Gu—may I inquire your esteemed name?"

Startled by the sudden enthusiasm, Saitama replied without thinking, "Uh… I'm Saitama, a B-Class Hero…"

"B-Class?!" Bang Gu's voice jumped eight octaves. He turned toward Kaito and Genos, eyes filled with Are you kidding me? disbelief.

Kaito stepped forward and patted Saitama's shoulder.

"Elder Bang Gu, this brother Saitama is a good friend of mine. Though he's only B-Class for now, his strength… you've seen it yourself."

Bang Gu took a deep breath, then said earnestly to Saitama, "This old man has an impertinent request—I hope you will join my dojo to learn Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist!"

The words carried the weight of a personal wish. His most beloved disciple, Garou, had betrayed the sect and driven away the talented students. Since then, Bang Gu had worried constantly about the future of his martial arts.

He was old, unsure how many years remained to him. Now, meeting someone with such overwhelming potential stirred his heart.

"Huh?!" Saitama took two steps back, wearing a bewildered look.

"Wait, I'm not interested! Genos, you go!"

"No! No need!" Genos's tone was full of resistance. "What I pursue is not martial arts, but absolute destructive power!"

At that, the scene froze in awkward silence.

Kaito allowed himself a small smile.

Perfect. The first step of his plan had succeeded—Bang Gu had witnessed Saitama's power and now wished to make him a disciple.

Next…

Kaito cleared his throat lightly.

"Elder Bang Gu, we can discuss the apprenticeship later. How about this—tomorrow, we'll visit your dojo together and talk in detail. What do you think?"

Bang Gu's hunched figure straightened at once, his eyes alight with excitement.

"Good! Good! This old man will prepare tea and snacks to welcome everyone!"

The next morning, on the outskirts of Z City—

Kaito stood at the foot of the mountain, gazing up at the towering peak that disappeared into the clouds.

At the end of the winding stone steps, the faint outline of Bang Gu's dojo emerged like a mirage.

"Lord King Wait for me"

Fubuki's coquettish voice floated from behind.

Today, she wore a light-purple improved cheongsam that hugged her curves, the slit revealing her slender legs accentuated by high heels. She trotted up to catch him, the subtle sway of her chest with each step impossible to ignore.

"Are you sure you want to come along?" Kaito raised an eyebrow. "This is martial arts training, not a picnic."

Fubuki pouted her red lips, slipping her arm through his with practiced ease.

"I don't want to miss an S-Class Hero gathering~ Besides…"

She leaned close to his ear, her breath warm and fragrant.

"I looked up some information last night—martial arts training can greatly improve a woman's figure~"

Kaito's mouth twitched.

This girl… she'd use any excuse just to tag along, huh?

Before he could reply, a familiar voice called from behind.

"Yo! King!"

He turned to see Saitama and Genos walking toward them.

Saitama still wore his iconic yellow jumpsuit, his bald head gleaming in the sunlight. Genos, however, had traded his battle armor for casual clothes.

"Mr. King!" Genos gave a respectful bow—though his gaze lingered briefly on Fubuki's linked arm before he quickly looked away.

Saitama scratched his head as he eyed the winding mountain path.

"By the way… why don't we just fly up? Doesn't Genos know how to fly?"

"Teacher!" Genos replied seriously, "When visiting a martial arts master, etiquette is important. Walking up is a sign of respect."

Kaito nodded in agreement.

"That's right. And…"

He gave Saitama a meaningful glance. "There's something good waiting for you later."

Saitama blinked. "Something good?"

The four of them began their ascent.

As they climbed higher, the scenery became more majestic. Clouds swirled around them, and far in the distance, Z City lay spread out like a living map.

Fubuki, despite being a psychic, quickly began to tire. Her breathing grew ragged, sweat dampening her temples.

She gave Kaito a pitiful look.

"Lord King… can we rest for a bit…?"

Kaito sighed, crouched down, and patted his back.

"Get on."

"Eh?" Her face flushed crimson all the way to her ears. "T-This… wouldn't that be too… presumptuous?"

"Come on."

She hesitated, then with a blush, climbed onto his back.

"Hold on tight," Kaito said as he gripped her thighs to secure her.

The soft warmth beneath his palms made his Adam's apple bob involuntarily.

Fubuki froze, acutely aware of the firm muscles under his shirt and the steady rhythm of his breathing.

Up ahead, Saitama glanced back and muttered under his breath,

"I wanna be carried too…"

Kaito: "..."
