One Punch Man: "The hell!! Did I transmigrate as King?"

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Emperor Engine: Completed, Killing Tiger-level Monsters

Deterrence Points: 615

Kaito's eyes swept across the system panel. He didn't hesitate.

"All in," he said coldly. "Upgrade the Emperor Engine!"

Deterrence Points -615!

Skill: Emperor Engine – Proficiency increased to Mastery (15/3000)

Skill Effects Updated:Monarch's Might – Prison of Will: When activated, the sonic impact becomes a wide-range Spirit Shock, overwhelming the target's will with psychological pressure.Aura Condensation Domain (New): The dark-red aura condenses into a ten-meter-radius Deterrence Domain. Hostile targets within suffer doubled Spirit pressure and significant neurological delay.Deterrence – Passive Enhancement: Increased passive trigger range, longer warning period, medium-level Spirit resistance added.Spirit Resonance (New): The Emperor Engine's roar induces targets' fear and echoes it back on the Spirit level, amplifying their own inner terror.Buzz—!

An indescribable tremor surged through Kaito's body.

It was as if molten lava had been injected directly into his heart—each beat thundered with unstoppable might.

This wasn't just sound anymore. It was control.

A mastery over presence and pressure. The ability to strike fear into the soul itself—his heartbeat had become the drumbeat of dread.

The swirling dark-red aura suddenly compressed, becoming inky and dense like congealed blood or shadows pulled straight from the abyss.

From Kaito's feet, an invisible force began to spread—

A domain. A commandment carved into the air.

ROAR!!!

The Mantis shrieked.

Its compound eyes reflected a hellish image: the man cloaked in dark-red deathlight, the Monarch of Fear… and behind him, a bald demon casually scratching his chin.

Terror engulfed the monster like a tsunami.

It wasn't just threatened.

It knew—deep in its primal core—that death was inevitable.

Emperor Engine – Mastery Activated!

BOOM—!!!

This time, the heartbeat wasn't just a sound.

It was a hammer. A weapon of will, enhanced by Spirit Resonance, striking straight into the creature's consciousness.

Simultaneously, the compressed aura exploded outward—

The Deterrence Domain formed in an instant.

Ten meters of distorted space surrounded Kaito, the very air turning thick as molasses.

Inside it, the Mantis moved as if submerged in concrete.

Its speed, its power—nullified.

Its nervous system couldn't keep up.

And then—

BOOM—!!

The second heartbeat landed like a meteor.

Not on the body.

On the mind.

The Mantis saw—

A bald demon in casual clothes who shattered mountains with a flick.

A hell-clad monarch whose heartbeat tore at the soul.

The faces of the countless victims it had once slaughtered—now screaming in its ears, their last moments frozen in pain and rage.

Spirit Resonance ripped the images open and replayed them with malicious clarity, injecting its own memories back into it like venom.

The Mantis shrieked, but no one could understand its voice.

Its body shivered uncontrollably. Its eyes flickered violently—

Until they went dark.

It tried to run.

But the domain held it fast.

It tried to attack.

But its Spirit had already been shattered.

From behind, Genos's sensors tracked every fluctuation.

Child Emperor's handheld scanner buzzed wildly from the feedback, recording insane energy spikes.

And then—

Something crushed its chest.

PFT—!!

With a sickening crunch, its insect carapace buckled inward. Muscle tore. Organs ruptured.

Dark green fluid gushed from its mouth and split seams in its armor.

Its huge frame convulsed once—

Twice—

And then slumped to the ground like a demolished building.

Its eyes—dim.

Its limbs—twitching weakly.

Its fear—endless.

Ding!

Successfully deterred and terminated Tiger-Level monster "Mantis."

Deterrence Points +200!

Dead silence.

The commercial street was filled only with distant sirens… and the low, fading BOOM of the Emperor Engine still echoing in the air.

All eyes were locked on the corpse—and the man standing before it, calmly retracting his aura.

"…I-It's over?" a policeman murmured, lowering his weapon.

"King… he did it… just with… just with his presence…" a female officer whispered, her voice cracking.

"WOOOAH!!"

Child Emperor broke the silence, practically bouncing with excitement.

His small face was flushed red, and his handheld device was smoking from the overworked processors.

"T-Too amazing! King! That was another ultimate skill, right?! 'King's Intimidation' or something?! What was that? Some kind of mental suppressive field?! It's like—like mass-scale neural disruption mixed with Spirit-level horror triggers!!"

He was rambling incoherently, eyes sparkling with admiration as he stared up at Kaito like a devout fan.

"A perfect integration of Spirit and physical suppression! A tangible pressure field! Induced existential fear leading to complete Spirit collapse—then physiological death! This… this is a miracle!"

Child Emperor was practically vibrating with excitement, his fingers flying across his device, which was now steaming from overclocked calculations.

"My entire 'Ugly Woman Mask' core algorithm needs to be restructured! This variable—this Spirit-class pressure pulse—completely invalidates previous models!"

He whipped around, eyes blazing:

"Mr. King! Please let me continue collecting your combat data! This is invaluable for modern monster suppression theory! This could redefine anti-monster psychological warfare!"

Meanwhile, Genos stood silently. His golden cybernetic eyes streamed dense columns of data, flickering in unnatural patterns.

HSSSST—!

His radiator hissed violently, overcompensating for the rapid spike in processor load.

"Warning. Analysis capacity exceeded.

Unknown energy field detected.

Spirit waveform: max → null collapse in 0.03s.

Life function: negated."

"...Unable to analyze..." Genos finally said aloud, his voice low, mechanical—and shaken.

"But I can say this with confidence: That Mantis did not simply die. It was unmade."

He turned sharply to Saitama, his tone grim:

"Teacher… Mr. King's power may exceed all previous metrics. What we witnessed—was not a physical or sonic attack alone. It was the negation of life through a direct strike to the Spirit substrate."

Saitama rubbed his shiny head, sunlight bouncing blindingly off his dome. He stared at the Mantis's corpse, then glanced back at Kaito—expressionless, calm, the red aura fully retracted now like it had never been there.

"Huh…" Saitama grunted. "So it just… died? From pressure?"

He blinked a few times, squinting at the collapsed monster as if trying to figure out how it went from roaring destruction to a lifeless bug in seconds.

"…Amazing, sure, but—" he muttered, smacking his lips, "…what a waste."

Genos turned to him in alarm. "Teacher?"

Saitama leaned over slightly, eyes glinting with a quiet hunger as he whispered—just loud enough for Genos to hear:

"If we'd cooked it fast enough, that thing could've made one hell of a fried locust skewer…"

"…with some discounted beer…"

Genos: "…"

(Note: Teacher demonstrates high-level creativity in monster resource utilization.

Potential secondary benefit: combat culinary applications.)

From a short distance away, Kaito stood silently.

He was still breathing evenly, but inside, the echo of the Emperor Engine was ringing louder than ever.

He could feel it now: this wasn't just a flashy fear-inducing skill. It was the start of something greater.

A real domain. A field of control not just over enemies—but over the battlefield itself.

The system panel flashed again:

Current Deterrence Points: 200

Emperor Engine (Mastery) Progress: 15 → ???

He exhaled slowly.

No time to get arrogant. That Mantis was just Tiger-level.

The real threats—the ones that even Saitama couldn't joke about—were still out there.

But now, with this power…

He wasn't just piggybacking anymore.

He was starting to forge his own myth.
