One Punch Man: Heroics Start with Dual Kamui

Chapter 51: Chapter 51: Psykos

On the surface, [Gyoro Gyoro] was a strategist for the Monster Association and classified as a Dragon-level monster.

In truth, however, [Gyoro Gyoro] was merely a puppet shaped like a monster. The real body was located 1,500 meters underground, a young human woman named Psykos.

She was the true leader and founder of the Monster Association.

At the moment, Psykos sat on a couch, her long wavy blue hair cascading down her shoulders. A pair of black-rimmed glasses always adorned her face, and a form-fitting dress traced the flawless curves of her body.

Psykos had every right to be considered the most perfectly built existence in the One Punch Man world.

What made things even more intriguing was her name: Psykos. Pronounced like "sex" in English, which, well... has certain meanings. One of them is "sexy." As for the other, less appropriate meaning—best left unsaid.

Right now, the wine glass in her hand had been crushed to pieces. Her expression was one of utter disbelief and shock. It had been a long time since she had lost her composure like this.

"Shinji... it's really him...?"

Psykos murmured as if in a dream.

Then, she immediately had [Gyoro Gyoro] call out to Shinji.

Hearing [Gyoro Gyoro] speak his name out loud, Shinji was stunned.

He already knew that Gyoro Gyoro's true body was Psykos and that she possessed a so-called "third eye."

But he didn't expect that eye to be so powerful, seeing through his disguise instantly. Could it be that his cheap tiger-skin mask, bought for just 1 point, was actually worthless?

"You reacted just now. So you really are Shinji, right?"

At that moment, Gyoro Gyoro stepped down from her so-called throne and walked up to him.

"How did you recognize me?"

Now that he'd been found out, Shinji didn't bother pretending anymore.

Gyoro Gyoro, after all, was just a vessel for Psykos's telekinetic powers. She wasn't a real threat to him, so he saw no need to run. What he really wanted now was to know how she figured him out.

"Of course you wouldn't recognize me like this."

Gyoro Gyoro spoke cryptically, like some kind of riddle master, her words making no sense to Shinji.

"What do you mean?"

Shinji asked, confused.

"Follow me and you'll understand."

Gyoro Gyoro extended a hand, inviting him.

...

Shinji thought for a moment, then decided to go along.

Vaccine Man tried to follow too, but Gyoro Gyoro blocked his path.

"Only Shinji can come. You're not invited."

She added bluntly, "Wait here. We'll be back soon."

Her attitude toward Vaccine Man had taken a complete turn. Compared to Shinji, he now seemed totally unimportant.

Shinji also gave Vaccine Man a look, signaling him to stay.

So Vaccine Man obediently stood still without saying a word.

Then, out of his line of sight, Gyoro Gyoro suddenly activated her powers.

She took Shinji with her, diving swiftly underground.

As they descended, Shinji quickly realized something.

Gyoro Gyoro was taking him this deep underground… did that mean she planned to let him meet her true body, Psykos?

He couldn't understand it. Ever since she founded the Monster Association, Psykos had been hiding 1,500 meters below the surface. No one knew she was the real body behind Gyoro Gyoro.

Someone as secretive and cautious as Psykos was now willing to reveal both her identity and her location to a professional hero like him?

He had no idea what she was thinking. Had she gone insane or something?

Of course, Shinji couldn't directly question Gyoro Gyoro about it either. Doing so would risk exposing his "God's-eye view" knowledge, so he could only wait and see...

Soon, with Gyoro Gyoro's help, Shinji arrived at the secret underground hideout where Psykos resided.

Under her control, Gyoro Gyoro returned to the surface.

Inside the room, Shinji saw Psykos lounging on the couch. Even now, he found it hard to believe.

This really was her hiding place. And she had invited him here of her own will.

Was this woman... truly insane?

Psykos leaned lazily against the sofa, one leg crossed over the other, clearly amused by his stunned reaction.

Seeing the disbelief on his face, she smiled faintly. "Surprised to see me here, aren't you?"

"Very surprised," Shinji admitted with a nod.

"Come, sit."

She gestured for him to take a seat.

...

Shinji had no idea what this woman was planning.

But since he was already here, there was no way he was leaving without getting answers. Otherwise, he doubted he'd be able to sleep tonight.

He sat down in the chair across from her.

Then, with elegant poise, Psykos suddenly offered him a wine glass.

She had crushed the previous one. This was a fresh glass.

Is this poisoned...?

That was Shinji's first thought.

Noticing his hesitation, Psykos added, "It's red wine from the surface. I thought you might want to try some."

Though his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan could detect that the wine held no suspicious substances, he still didn't trust her.

"Sorry. I don't really drink," he replied politely.

...

Chapter 51: Psykos

On the surface, Gyoro Gyoro was known as the strategist of the Monster Association and ranked as a Dragon-level threat. In truth, however, Gyoro Gyoro was nothing more than a puppet in the shape of a monster. The real body sat 1,500 meters underground, Psykos, a young human woman and the true founder and leader of the Monster Association.

At this moment, Psykos was seated on a couch, her long, wavy blue hair cascading down her shoulders. A pair of black-rimmed glasses rested on her face, and her sleek, form-fitting dress traced every flawless curve of her figure. By any standard, Psykos could be called the most perfectly built being in the world of One Punch Man.

What made things even more interesting was her name: Psykos. Of course, it is a reference to her psychic powers, but a 'sex' appeal also cannot be denied. After Fubuki, she could be said to be the most beautiful woman in the anime.

Right now, the wine glass in her hand lay shattered into pieces. Her expression was frozen in utter disbelief and shock. It had been a long time since she had lost her composure like this.

"Shinji... it's really him...?" she murmured, almost as if caught in a dream.

Then and there, she had Gyoro Gyoro call out to Shinji.

The moment Gyoro Gyoro spoke his name aloud, Shinji was caught off guard. He already knew that Gyoro Gyoro's true form was Psykos, and that she possessed a so-called "third eye." But he hadn't expected that eye to be so powerful that it could see through his disguise immediately. Did that mean his cheap tiger-skin mask, bought for just 1 point, was completely useless?

"You reacted just now. So you really are Shinji, right?"

At that moment, Gyoro Gyoro stepped down from her so-called throne and slowly approached him.

"How did you recognize me?"

Since he had been discovered, Shinji didn't bother to pretend anymore. Gyoro Gyoro was only a vessel for Psykos's telekinetic powers. She didn't pose any real threat to him, so there was no reason to flee. What he truly wanted now was to understand how she had identified him.

"Of course you wouldn't recognize me like this."

Gyoro Gyoro's voice took on a cryptic tone, like a riddle master whispering secrets, her words confusing and vague.

"What do you mean?" Shinji asked, puzzled.

"Follow me and you'll understand."

Gyoro Gyoro extended a hand, gesturing for him to come along.

Shinji hesitated for a moment, then decided to go with her.

Vaccine Man moved to follow, but Gyoro Gyoro blocked his way.

"Only the human boy can come. You're not invited."

She added sharply, "Wait here. We'll be back soon."

Her tone toward Vaccine Man had completely shifted. Compared to Shinji, he now seemed insignificant.

Shinji shot Vaccine Man a quick glance, silently signaling him to stay back. Vaccine Man obeyed silently, standing put as instructed. Then, once she was out of his line of sight, Gyoro Gyoro quietly activated her powers.

She took Shinji with her, diving rapidly underground. As they descended, Shinji quickly began to sense something unusual. Gyoro Gyoro was leading him this deep beneath the surface... was she actually planning to let him meet her true body, Psykos?

He couldn't make sense of it. Since founding the Monster Association, Psykos had remained hidden 1,500 meters below ground. No one had known that she was the real entity behind Gyoro Gyoro. Someone as secretive and careful as her was now revealing both her identity and her exact location to a professional hero?

What on earth was she thinking? Had she completely lost her mind?

Of course, Shinji couldn't just question Gyoro Gyoro directly. Doing so might expose the fact that he possessed knowledge he shouldn't, his "God's-eye view." For now, he could only go along with it and wait to see where things led.

Before long, with Gyoro Gyoro's guidance, Shinji arrived at the hidden underground chamber where Psykos resided. Once he stepped inside, Gyoro Gyoro, still under Psykos's control, returned to the surface.

Now alone in the room, Shinji looked ahead and saw Psykos lounging on a couch. Even now, he could hardly believe it. This was truly her sanctuary. And she had willingly invited him here.

Was she... actually insane?

Psykos reclined against the plush cushions, one leg casually crossed over the other, clearly entertained by his stunned expression. Her eyes sparkled behind her glasses as she smiled faintly.

"Surprised to see me here, aren't you?"

"Very surprised," Shinji answered with a nod, still trying to process it all.

"Come, sit."

She motioned toward the seat across from her.

Shinji had no idea what kind of game she was playing. But since he had come this far, there was no way he would leave without answers. If he did, he doubted he'd get a wink of sleep tonight.

He slowly lowered himself into the chair facing her.

Then, with graceful finesse, Psykos picked up a fresh wine glass and extended it toward him. It wasn't the one she had shattered earlier; this was a new one.

His immediate thought was: Is this poisoned?

Sensing his reluctance, Psykos tilted her head slightly and explained, "It's red wine from the surface. I thought you might want to try some."

His Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan confirmed there were no toxins or hidden substances in the glass. Still, despite the clean reading, he didn't let his guard down.

"Sorry. I don't really drink."

Psykos narrowed her eyes slightly, as if picking up on something beneath the surface.

"Shinji, do you still remember who I am?" she asked, her tone probing.

"No."

Shinji shook his head without a moment's hesitation. Without activating his omniscient perspective, this was genuinely his first time seeing her in person.

Her expression tightened at his answer, a faint crease forming between her brows.

After a short silence, she asked again, this time with a bit more weight in her voice. "I was the president of the Monster Research Society. Don't you remember me at all?"

"Nope."

He shook his head once again.

This time, her reaction was far more intense. Psykos's eyes widened, her entire expression shifting with disbelief and frustration.

"How could this be... You were supposed to be my only 'understander'..."

"Wait a second."

Shinji cut her off, suddenly more serious. "I honestly have no idea what you're talking about. As far as I know, this is our first meeting. Are you saying we've met before?"

The look in his eyes, cool, distant, the gaze of a man addressing a stranger, stabbed at her like a blade.

"Vice President Shinji... do you really remember nothing at all...?"
