Chapter 200: Chapter 200: The War Between Pirates and the World Government Begins
On a prosperous island in the first half of the Grand Line, Death Gun Leondona, a former Rocks Pirate officer, had been in hiding for six years, only to be found.
"State your business or die!" Leondona demanded coldly, his sharp eyes fixed on the three individuals before him. He hadn't expected to be discovered after all this time.
"Sir, we're from the Infinity Pirates. We mean no harm, only to deliver some firearms to you," one of the three quickly explained, opening a large box and presenting it to Leondona.
One look at the sniper rifle and two pistols inside, and Leondona was captivated. He picked up the sniper rifle first, gently examining it with Observation Haki, before firing at a wall a kilometer away.
"Bang!!"
The shot was nearly silent, yet the distant wall was pierced.
"Bang!!"
Another shot at a wall two kilometers away produced the same result, the bullet passing through.
"Bang!!"
Even at three kilometers, the bullet pierced through, only stopping at four kilometers where it lodged in the wall.
Leondona then tested the two pistols, finding them perfectly crafted. Even the sniper rifle Rocks had once made for him paled in comparison.
These weapons were revolutionary, set to redefine the world's firearm rankings. Old guns would be rendered obsolete once these hit the market!
"What does Li Yuan want from me?" Leondona asked, excitement fading as he regained composure.
"We don't know. Here's our captain's Den Den Mushi. We're just messengers. If you'll excuse us, we'll take our leave," the three said, setting down the transmitter before quickly departing, wary of the formidable man before them.
"Brubru!!"
After pondering a moment, Leondona used the Den Den Mushi to call. He'd once had his own, but discarded it when he chose seclusion, making contact impossible.
But as an honorable marksman, he felt obliged to repay the favor after accepting the firearms.
"Hahaha, Leondona, it's been a while! How do you like the world's finest guns I had made especially for you?" Li Yuan greeted warmly.
The firearms given to Leondona were far superior to commercial models, enhanced in every aspect and fused into singular masterpieces by Yuma's abilities—unmatched in power.
"What do you want from me?" Leondona asked directly.
"You've seen the papers. I need your help in this war," Li Yuan replied.
"Agreed. After this, we'll be even," Leondona stated.
"Great, I look forward to your arrival," Li Yuan said, hanging up with a smile.
"Jihahaha, Li Yuan, I'm here!" Golden Lion's voice boomed after half a day of waiting at G5 Fortress. The Flying Pirates' thirty-plus ships filled the sky.
"Golden Lion, your crew's handling logistics and food, right? You haven't forgotten, have you?" Li Yuan noted, seeing only the ships.
"Jihahaha, I'd never break a promise. The supplies are on the islands," Golden Lion laughed, two islands descending from the sky, laden with food and kitchens ready to serve.
"Your Devil Fruit ability is handy!" Li Yuan remarked, impressed.
"Jihahaha, indeed. If I weren't above using dastardly methods, I'd drop islands and destroy Marineford and Mariejois!" Golden Lion laughed boldly.
Li Yuan's mouth twitched, recalling drunkenly mocking Golden Lion for underutilizing his Pika Pika no Mi powers. With such abilities, ancient weapons were unnecessary; a barrage of islands from above could devastate Mariejois.
Golden Lion's intellect seemed intact, avoiding rash moves on Marineford and Mariejois, which would provoke the World Government's relentless pursuit.
Even with his powers, Li Yuan suspected the combined might of the World Government and Celestial Dragons could bring Golden Lion down.
Flight wasn't invincible; three to five airborne top fighters could corner him.
"Alright, let's wait for Whitebeard and the others," Li Yuan suggested, cutting off Golden Lion's boasting.
"Yo, Wald, third to arrive!" Li Yuan greeted as Wald's crew arrived.
"Hahaha, my territory's nearby," Wald explained.
"Here's a Desert Eagle handgun, twice as powerful as your flintlock. Consider it a gift," Li Yuan said, tossing him two red crystal-like pistols.
The Infinity Pirates had crafted these new models based on Li Yuan's designs, using Yuma's fused materials for superior firepower.
"Bang, bang, bang!!!"
Testing the Desert Eagles, Wald found them twice as powerful as his flintlocks.
"Hahaha, thanks, Li Yuan! Let me know if you make stronger guns—I'll buy them!" Wald said, eyes gleaming.
"Sure, I'll keep you posted," Li Yuan replied.
"Jihahaha, Li Yuan, so it's true you're manufacturing and selling firearms!" Golden Lion noted.
"Absolutely. I'm selling them at a loss this time—half price!" Li Yuan confirmed.
Previously, his weapons were sold internally or in limited batches. Demand wasn't the issue; it was recognition.
This war was a chance to advertise, proving his weapons' superiority to the market standards. The exposure would drive demand post-war, recouping any losses swiftly.
Over the next day, the Whitebeard Pirates and others who'd joined the Celestial Dragons raid arrived.
Li Yuan brought 100,000, Golden Lion another 100,000, with the remaining seven crews and scattered pirates adding 100,000 more.
A total of 400,000 pirates gathered, ready for the impending war!
"Mamamama, Kaido, you've finally shown up!" Charlotte Linlin recognized the towering figure of Kaido among the former Rocks officers present.
"Hahaha, even the intern has grown!" Li Yuan remarked, turning to Kaido.
Under Li Yuan's Observation Haki, Kaido wasn't yet formidable, barely surpassing Ashura Doji, not reaching top-tier strength.
"Gurararara, Kaido, this war's brutal—don't get yourself killed and waste that Devil Fruit I wanted," Whitebeard teased, recalling his interest in the Mythical Zoan Azure Dragon Fruit, now consumed by Kaido.
"Hmph, even if you old-timers die, I won't!" Kaido retorted, unfazed, acknowledging his junior status and lesser strength.
"Hahaha, everyone's here. Golden Lion, let's go!" Li Yuan called, seeing the gathering complete.
"Don't order me around, I'm the Golden Lion!" Golden Lion cursed, but obediently directed the islands toward Navy G3 Fortress.
Several scattered crews rode Golden Lion's islands, while major crews followed with their fleets.
Islands flew through the sky, hundreds of pirate ships sailed below, charging toward the naval fortress—the grand war was about to begin!
Numerous World Economic News reporters and News Coo documented the battle. If not restricted by Li Yuan and Golden Lion, they'd have live-streamed it.
Though live streaming was off-limits, the World Economic News continuously reported the battle's progress, captivating global attention.
The war between the World Government and pirates mirrored the Rocks era conflict, then a pirate victory. Would this war end differently? The world watched with bated breath.
