One Piece : Winged Dragons of the Beast Pirates

Chapter 290: Chapter 168.1 : Mihawk vs Shiki!!

The fierce battle began at that very moment.

Perhaps it was the clash of the two strongest swordsmen in the world.

Yoru, reforged by Shimotsuki Kouzaburou, had become the finest of all great blades, while the Oto and Kogarashi of Shiki were renowned swords of the sea.

When the three blades collided, a jet-black lightning shot into the sky, instantly filling the vast expanse of the night.

"What is that?!"

The terrifying gale rushed toward them, and Ace's eyes widened instantly!

Because he saw, the dark clouds in the sky were splitting apart!

"It's Conqueror's Haki!"

Law's voice sounded faint amidst the raging wind.

A massive fire spirit floated in the sky, and Ian stood on its shoulder while the two little ones clung to its hand, holding its fingers to prevent themselves from being blown away.

"The clash of Conqueror's Haki can even tear apart the sky!"

Law shouted.

"Conqueror's Haki—"

Ace stared blankly.

"Whoa."

Ian murmured in awe.

The battle began with the sky splitting open, now this was truly the feeling of it.

"Lion's Might—Thousand Slash Valley!"

Shiki's feet transformed into lightning, and in an instant, he unleashed hundreds of blades.

The flying slashes turned into a storm, overwhelming and crashing down toward Mihawk, offering him no room to dodge.

"If this is all you've got, then you're really a disappointment!"

Mihawk faced the overwhelming attack with just a cold sneer. The pitch-black blade in his hand surged with lightning.

"Ha!"

He simply let out a loud shout and swung his black blade horizontally.

A brilliant emerald slash crossed the sky in an instant, shattering all of Shiki's storm of slashes.

"Oh! What an incredible slash!"

Below, Vice Admiral Kuzan couldn't help but marvel.

Is this the slash of the world's greatest swordsman? Truly exceptional!

However, Ian, who was also witnessing this scene, couldn't help but shake his head.

I wanted to say this earlier, Mihawk, this won't work.

Don't you know that in the world of our passionate manga, the names of techniques are just as important as their power?

Do you understand the importance of style?

If this were in the Bleach world next door, with no names for your techniques, and all of them looking like basic A attacks, you'd be cut down before the third episode.

However, even without names, Mihawk's strike was indeed extraordinary. Not only did it sweep away Shiki's slashes, but it also seemed like it would split Shiki himself apart in an instant.

Of course, Shiki was no weakling. After his ship's wheel was taken by Law, his Haki was no longer limited, and after several months of recovery, his strength had been restored to nearly its peak.

His power was no joke. With his twin swords dancing in a moon-like arc, he sliced through the emerald crescent.

"Kekekekekaha! You speak too boldly!"

"You'll soon know whether I'm speaking boldly or not!"

Mihawk already dashed through the air, stepping on nothing, and slashed his treasured sword diagonally.

Shiki laughed wildly, his twin swords in a frenzy, clashing fiercely with Mihawk.

The violent Armament Haki and Conqueror's Haki transformed into black lightning, continuously striking across the sky.

This was the first time Ace had witnessed such a level of battle. His eyes were wide in shock, his fists instinctively clenching.

"Ace!"

At this moment, Vice Admiral Garp noticed his presence, rushing towards him through the air, furiously shouting, "What are you doing here! Aren't you supposed to be with Luffy, staying by Dadan's side?"

At this time, in Windmill Village.

At the dock, the Red-Haired Pirate Crew's flagship, the Red Force.

"Uta! Wait for me!"

Two children were happily running around.

A pirate looked at this scene with a bit of a headache. "If Vice Admiral Garp sees this, he'll definitely kill us."

"Hahahaha! That's a problem for later!"

The high-ranking officer, Lucky Roux, laughed loudly. He gazed far into the distance, his eyes seemingly able to see the scenery above that distant sky.

"Now, the grand show is about to begin!"

In the sky here.

Facing Vice Admiral Garp's question, Ace didn't even look back. "Who cares about you! I don't want to listen to you!"

He was all about rebellion.

The legendary Marine Vice Admiral was furious enough that his lungs might explode. He immediately turned a vicious glare at Ian, who was casually standing on Surtur's shoulder. "You brat! Look at what you've done to my dear grandson!"

Ian rolled his eyes. "Vice-Admiral Garp, Ace asked me to bring him here."

Garp immediately turned to look at Ace.

Ace still didn't turn around. He just clenched his fists. "This is Shiki! The man who fought against that guy!"

Garp was instantly speechless.

Was it because of Roger?

He knew Ace had always hated Roger.

Sometimes, he regretted telling Ace about his heritage when he was still so young.

But he felt that every person should know everything about themselves when they come into this world, and Ace deserved to know everything he needed to.

"Such a sin…"

The Navy Vice Admiral fell silent.

Ian, however, couldn't help but smile a little.

In the comics, Vice Admiral Garp often comes across as carefree and reckless, but in reality, he's unexpectedly meticulous. He's definitely not the traditional careless old man that he appears to be. This trait reminds Ian a bit of Kaido.

This old man is also very contradictory. On one hand, he despises the Celestial Dragons to the point where he refused a promotion to Admiral, yet he has spent his entire life sailing the seas as a Navy officer.

At the same time, he constantly says he wants his grandsons to join the Navy, but his efforts only consist of occasionally training the two brothers. He hasn't even taken them to the headquarters, nor has he instilled any real ideals of Navy justice in them, fully embracing a laissez-faire approach.

When his grandsons became notorious pirates, he could still laugh heartily with his old friends, saying, "Of course, they're my grandsons."

He's truly a man who's hard to judge.

"Ace!"

Vice Admiral Garp finally spoke again. "Come over here! It's dangerous here, and I'll protect you!"

Ace's attitude softened a little. He was well aware that this old man was one of the people who cared about him the most in the world. However, his tone still carried some disdain. "You should worry about Shiki first!"

Vice Admiral Garp fell silent once again.

Indeed, even though Shiki was currently battling Mihawk, what if he suddenly decided he didn't want to fight and just wanted to flee?

Shiki can fly, and no matter how fast the Moonwalk is, it's impossible to catch him.

Garp needed to keep an eye on Shiki.

"Don't worry, Vice Admiral Garp," Ian chuckled lightly. "I'll make sure to protect Ace."

"You little brat! You still dare to speak!" Vice Admiral Garp's eyes were filled with fury.

It's all this bastard's fault! Ace used to be so obedient! Garp completely forgot that Ace had also been a rebellious little troublemaker in the past.

Ian shrugged. "Don't mind it, Vice Admiral Garp. You don't want to start a fight with me now, do you? If you do, maybe Shiki really will escape."

The Navy hero gritted his teeth.

Not far away in the sky, Dragon looked at the situation below, feeling a bit confused.

His old man claims to be that kid's grandfather?

When did he even have another son? And looking at his age, he seems older than Luffy.

Could it be that, after living a life of integrity, his old man actually has an illegitimate child somewhere, hidden from his late mother?
