Chapter 13: The Sword Of The Serpants
The morning sun shone brightly over the open sea as the Thousand Sunny approached a lively port town. Kikidori stood at the bow, arms crossed, his shinai tucked under one arm. He turned to look at Nami, who was sunbathing nearby.
"Nami!" Kikidori called, his voice eager. "Can you buy me a sword?"
Nami didn't even open her eyes. "No."
"Come on!" Kikidori whined, running over to her. "I need a real sword! I can't fight with this stick forever!"
"I said no," Nami replied firmly.
Kikidori huffed, his eyes narrowing as an idea formed in his mind. In the blink of an eye, he reached into Nami's pocket and pulled out a small pouch of money.
"Hey!" Nami shouted, sitting up as she realized what had happened. "How did you—give that back!"
Kikidori held the pouch behind his back, grinning mischievously. "If you're not gonna buy me a sword, I'll just use this!"
With a swift motion, Nami snatched the pouch back. "If you want money, steal it from someone else!"
Kikidori blinked. "You mean it?"
Nami sighed, rubbing her temples. "No, that's not—ugh, forget it."
When the Sunny docked at the port, Kikidori's excitement was palpable. As the crew disembarked, Nami gave her usual instructions. "We're here to resupply. Don't cause trouble!"
Kikidori tugged at Nami's sleeve. "Can I steal from the villagers?"
"What? No, that's not—" Nami began, but before she could finish, Kikidori darted into the crowd.
Zoro, leaning against a nearby wall, smirked. "You've got your hands full with that kid."
Nami groaned. "Don't remind me."
Meanwhile, Kikidori was weaving through the bustling streets, his small frame making it easy to go unnoticed. He slipped his hand into a merchant's coin pouch, then another's, his movements quick and precise. By the time he returned to the Sunny, he was holding a pouch filled with 100,000 berries.
"Is this enough?" Kikidori asked, holding the pouch up to Nami.
Before she could answer, Kikidori bolted toward a nearby weapon shop, leaving Nami standing there, exasperated.
Inside the shop, Kikidori's eyes sparkled as he looked around. Swords of all shapes and sizes lined the walls. One, in particular, caught his eye—a sleek blade with a dark, ominous aura.
"That one," Kikidori said, pointing.
The shopkeeper hesitated. "Kid, are you sure? That's a cursed blade."
"Cool!" Kikidori said, handing over the pouch of money.
The shopkeeper shrugged and handed over the sword, a knowing look in his eyes. "Don't say I didn't warn you."
Kikidori unsheathed the blade the moment he stepped outside. The air around him seemed to darken as the sword emitted a low hum. He felt a sudden drain on his energy, his knees buckling slightly.
"Hey, kid, what're you doing with—" Sanji began, but stopped as the blade's energy shifted. It suddenly calmed, the dark aura receding as if the sword had accepted Kikidori.
"What just happened?" Nami asked, stepping closer.
Kikidori grinned, holding up the sword. "It's mine now! I'm gonna call it *Ophiophagus Hannah,* like the king cobra!"
"Of course he names it after a snake," Zoro muttered, shaking his head.
Back on the Sunny, Kikidori spent the afternoon practicing with his new sword, swinging it around with wild enthusiasm. Zoro watched from a distance, arms crossed, his expression unreadable.
"You know that's a cursed blade, right?" Zoro finally said.
"Yep!" Kikidori replied, grinning. "It's awesome!"
Zoro sighed. "Just don't cut off your own arm."
As the crew set sail, news of Kikidori's escapade spread through the port town, eventually reaching the ears of the marines.
A few hours later, Robin handed Kikidori his updated bounty poster.
**Diamond D. Kikidori**
**Bounty: 50 berries**
Kikidori stared at it, then sighed. "Fifty berries? That's better, I guess…"
Luffy clapped him on the back. "Don't worry, Kikidori! You'll get a higher bounty someday!"
"Yeah, when he stops stealing from random villagers," Nami muttered.
The Sunny sailed on, the crew laughing and chatting as the sun dipped below the horizon. Kikidori sat on the deck, holding his sword and smiling to himself. He didn't care that his bounty was still low. He had a real sword now, and that was all that mattered.
