Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Who Says I’m Broke?
At that moment, a female croupier placed one hand on the roulette wheel and called out,
"You may now place your bets! No more bets once the wheel spins!"
As soon as she finished speaking, the gamblers around the table began placing their bets eagerly.
But Rikuya Kazama and Douglas Bullet didn't move at all.
The reason was simple: they had no money!
Back when they looted Shanks, they discovered that he was broke too.
He and his crew didn't bother plundering others, and they spent all their time drinking—racking up debt. Rikuya Kazama didn't get a single coin out of them.
And since they had escaped from Impel Down not long ago, of course they didn't have any money on them either.
The bunny girl who had brought them in furrowed her brows slightly when she saw them just standing there.
"Gentlemen, is something wrong?"
"Oh, nothing. I just remembered—we forgot to bring money today," Rikuya Kazama replied casually.
"But no worries. Looks like we've got plenty of cash right here."
As he said this, he reached out and swept all the chips and money that the other players had placed on the table over to his side.
Then he put all of it on the "Odd" section of the betting mat.
The whole room froze in shock. No one expected him to do something so brazen.
"Alright, I've placed my bet. Go ahead and spin the wheel!" Rikuya said with a faint smile.
At the same time, just to be safe, he mentally activated the Might Guy character card.
"Ding! The host has successfully activated the 'Might Guy' character card. One use deducted."
In the next instant, his body surged with energy.
Now armed with Might Guy's physique and martial arts, Rikuya could finally relax a little.
"Hey! What the hell do you think you're doing?! That's our money!"
A fat middle-aged man nearby immediately shouted at him.
The others began raising their voices too, shouting angrily at Rikuya.
"This guy's clearly here to cause trouble! Are you security guys just going to let this happen?!"
"Yeah! Kick these two nobodies out of here!"
Seeing the scene get out of hand, the bunny girl attending them gave a quick signal to a nearby guard.
Within seconds, several casino security guards began approaching Rikuya and Douglas Bullet.
"Hmph, not spinning the wheel? In that case, maybe no one should be gambling today."
Rikuya raised his right hand and slammed it down hard onto the roulette table.
Boom! With a loud crash, the table split in two and collapsed instantly.
The sudden violence drew the attention of everyone else in the casino.
The guards picked up their pace and surrounded the two men.
"You've got a death wish, punk?" one of them shouted, charging straight at Rikuya.
But before he could get close, a shadow flickered past.
The next second, he felt a bone-shattering impact to his face, and he fell to the ground unconscious, blood pouring from his mouth.
"Aaaah!!"
As soon as someone went down, the whole casino erupted into chaos.
Guests screamed and bolted for the exits.
Meanwhile, casino staff went into full alert mode, and one of them ran up the stairs to the second floor to report the situation.
"Kill them all," Rikuya Kazama said calmly without even looking back.
Having received the command, Douglas Bullet moved into action.
Against opponents of this level, he didn't even need to exert himself—in the blink of an eye, he had already taken out several guards with lethal efficiency.
Everyone nearby was stunned by the sheer brutality.
Even the bunny girl who had brought them in was frozen in place, unable to speak a word.
At that moment, Rikuya placed a hand on her shoulder, then grabbed the roulette wheel with his other hand and turned to the croupier with a sly grin.
"So tell me… am I allowed to place my bet now?"
The poor croupier's heart was pounding in terror. Hearing his question, she nodded without hesitation.
"There we go! I tried to be polite with you all earlier, but what did I get in return?
You tried to rough me up. What kind of hospitality is that?" Rikuya said, shaking his head.
But then—"Tap! Tap! Tap!"—heavy footsteps echoed from the staircase leading to the second floor.
Everyone instinctively turned to look.
A tall man descended the stairs slowly.
He had slicked-back hair, wore a long black fur coat, a long horizontal scar across his face, an earring in his right ear, and a golden hook in place of his left hand. A cigar was clenched between his teeth.
He had been surprised when he got word that someone was making trouble in his territory.
No one had ever dared cause a scene on his turf.
So he came down immediately.
But when he saw who it was, his expression turned cold, and his brows furrowed.
It was clear—he recognized both Rikuya Kazama and Douglas Bullet.
"Long time no see, Crocodile," Douglas Bullet said, flashing a wicked smile.
Crocodile didn't even hesitate—he walked straight up to them.
Now the two sides were standing just a few meters apart.
If either made the first move, they would immediately have the upper hand.
Everyone around held their breath.
"You two are really gutsy, huh? Do you not realize that I'm one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea?"
Crocodile exhaled a puff of smoke, his tone icy.
"I have both the right and duty to capture pirates wanted by the World Government."
"Bro, no way! A Warlord of the Sea? That's so badass!"
Rikuya Kazama said mockingly,
"So, Douglas Bullet, should we get down on our knees and beg your old rival for mercy?"
