Chapter 15: Chapter 15: The World Is Shocked
At that moment, Domino, the Chief Warden, stepped forward to report.
"And what else?" Garp asked with a slight frown.
"Also… Douglas Bullet escaped alongside the prisoner named Rikuya Kazama."
"What?! Douglas Bullet escaped?!"
Hearing this was like a thunderclap for Garp—his palm slammed down on the table with a bang.
His sudden outburst immediately made the entire room tense.
Especially Hannyabal, who was known for being smacked around—his body began trembling in fear of being held responsible!
"He's that powerful?"
Kuzan, standing to the side, finally spoke. This was the first time he had ever seen Garp so flustered.
"Heh… at just 15, that guy was already dominating the seas.
After winning hundreds of battles without a single loss,
he eventually encountered Roger—and lost for the first time.
After that, he joined Roger's crew and wandered the world with him.
When Roger surrendered, Bullet left the crew and started operating solo, causing absolute chaos across the oceans.
At the time, the Navy had no way to stop him.
When he turned 22, we received critical intel about him ahead of time,
and the entire Navy was mobilized.
Sengoku and I led the charge in a battle that shook the world.
Eventually, due to exhaustion and the overwhelming strength of our combined forces,
we were finally able to defeat and imprison him here.
Even though many years have passed,
and the Navy has grown stronger—we've raised you new admirals after all—
he's still not someone to take lightly," Garp said grimly.
Though it had been years, the memories of his battle with Bullet were still vivid.
Few pirates had ever forced Garp to go all out, and Bullet was one of them.
Hearing Garp's account, many in the room sucked in a sharp breath.
Most of them were quite young.
When Bullet made his name, they were still in diapers, so they naturally had little knowledge of him.
Now, seeing Garp—an old legend—speak of him so seriously, they realized just how bad it was that Bullet had escaped.
And worse, he had escaped with a complete unknown—Rikuya Kazama.
That made the situation even more alarming.
"Enough. I'll personally report this to the higher-ups.
You all stay here and recover.
I'll also dispatch several heavily armed warships to guard this place in case of further incidents."
"Understood," Magellan nodded seriously.
—
Soon, news of Rikuya's escape from Impel Down shook the entire world.
At Marine Headquarters, a top-level meeting was held.
All officers of Vice Admiral rank and above were in attendance.
Presiding over the meeting was none other than Fleet Admiral Sengoku himself.
"Can anyone tell me who this Rikuya Kazama really is?
How did a prisoner from Level 1: Crimson Hell manage to turn Impel Down upside down?"
Sengoku asked with a deep frown.
But that question was in vain—none of them knew where Rikuya had come from or what his background was.
"No matter who he is or where he's from,
any pirate who threatens world peace deserves to die.
I'll personally lead a Marine unit to bring them in."
The one who spoke was a stern-looking man with many tattoos.
His right arm was a sword, and from his left chest to his elbow were rose and cherry blossom tattoos.
He wore a dark red suit, a Navy hat, black leather gloves, and a Marine admiral's cloak.
A cigar hung from his lips.
This was Admiral Akainu (Sakazuki).
"Heh… That kid's strong, Sakazuki.
Even Magellan and Shiryu of the Rain weren't his match."
A lazy voice interrupted—spoken by a tall, slim man with wavy black hair,
sunglasses, stubble on his face, a yellow-striped suit, and a green shirt with a purple tie.
This was Admiral Kizaru (Borsalino)—another of the Navy's Three Great Powers.
"The situation's not that simple," another voice chimed in.
"The kid's not alone—he's with Douglas Bullet.
Even after twenty years in prison, **he's still not to be underestimated."
The speaker was an elderly woman with white hair tied back in a simple ponytail.
She wore a Vice Admiral's cloak and green earrings, with two gold bangles on her right hand.
This was Vice Admiral Tsuru—a legendary figure from the same era as Sengoku and Garp,
and someone who had once fought Bullet herself.
Having experienced Bullet's strength firsthand, she knew far better than the younger generation just how terrifying he was.
"Hmph! Vice Admiral Tsuru, times have changed.
The Navy is at its strongest now.
Even the so-called emperors of the New World aren't much to fear!"
Akainu snorted, brushing off their concerns.
"Enough, Sakazuki," Sengoku cut in.
"Since you're so confident, you'll lead a unit to the East Blue immediately and track them down.
This will both suppress their movement and show the world that the Navy will not tolerate such threats.
Even though the fault doesn't lie with us,
the World Government is already dissatisfied with how things were handled.
Especially since our forces arrived at Impel Down…
and still let two major fugitives escape.
So the higher-ups want this cleaned up as soon as possible,
to calm public unrest!"
As he finished, Sengoku cast a glance at Garp.
Garp, in true Garp fashion, sat there picking his nose, acting like nothing had happened.
Clearly, Sengoku was still holding a grudge—it was Garp's unilateral decision to abandon the chase,
which had landed them all in this mess.
But he couldn't do anything about his old friend, so Sengoku could only stew in silence.
