One Piece: Starting in God Valley as a Slave

Chapter 171: Chapter 171

Zephyr was seriously injured. There was a long and narrow sword wound on his chest, and he kept coughing.

Seeing Roger rushing towards Carl, he gritted his teeth and followed.

When Roger arrived, Carl was driving the pirates back. There were all kinds of corpses lying around him, some without heads, some broken in half, and some shriveled.

Seeing this purgatory-like scene, even Roger took a breath of cold air, unable to tell who was a pirate and who was a Marine.

Carl stood in a pool of blood, holding a woman's head covered by hair in his hand.

He glanced at Roger, then wrapped his Haki around the head in his hand, and let go, sending it flying.

This habit was just forming, similar to Garp's love of playing with cannonballs, but the difference is that Carl preferred to use the enemy's head.

Roger instinctively swung his sword, and the head was instantly split in two by him. Seeing this, the members of the Whitebeard Pirates immediately let out a cry of grief and anger.

"Whitey Bay!!!"

Roger realized that the one he had just struck down was the Ice Witch from Whitebeard's crew.

He looked up at Carl and shouted,

"Are you still a Marine? You have no humanity at all!"

In response, there were iron-headed projectiles wrapped in Haki flying one after another.

Although Roger tried his best to dodge them, he inevitably struck down a few in the process. After a while, his sword was stained with the blood of the Whitebeard Pirates' members.

This completely enraged Roger. He charged at Carl, deflecting the heads hurled at him with his sword.

Carl snorted coldly, his Haki-enveloped sword, Muramasa, ready to meet the challenge.

Boom!

The clash of their Haki caused a violent explosion, cracking the ground beneath them.

Carl's right hand hadn't fully healed yet, so he was using his left hand, resulting in a slight disadvantage against Roger. Signs of suppression were beginning to show.

Roger noticed this and let out a roar, increasing the output of his Conqueror's Haki. Carl was gradually being pushed back. Just then, Zephyr arrived and slammed into Roger with his full force.

Zephyr's collision wasn't a pleasant experience for Roger, who was sent flying, coughing up blood.

However, Zephyr's injury worsened from the impact. He lost his balance and fell to the ground heavily.

Carl quickly moved to support Zephyr, whose face was now as pale as a sheet. He started coughing violently.

"Don't push yourself" Carl said hastily.

Zephyr gave a weak smile and sighed,

"I'm holding you back, Carl..."

"Don't say that!" Carl protested. "You saved me just now."

Zephyr shook his head, still coughing.

"Carl, if you use that power, it'll put a strain on your body. Stay calm. If something happens to you, our Navy will be in real danger!"

Carl paused, considering Zephyr's words. He knew Zephyr was right. If he fell now, the Navy would be in trouble, facing both the Roger Pirates and Whitebeard Pirates without a top fighter to lead them.

Pirates were closing in, and Roger launched another attack.

Carl remained silent for a moment before a dazzling white light burst from his body.

"Shinra Tensei."

Buzz!

Pirates near him were instantly dismembered by the repulsive force. Roger dug his sword into the ground to withstand the impact.

Clearing a path, Carl stood up straight. Zephyr, lying on the ground, smiled weakly and said,

"Go, Carl. Don't worry about me."

Carl nodded and disappeared in a flash.

Before Roger could react, Carl suddenly appeared above him, kicking him into the ground. He followed up, diving into the pit below.

There were continuous roars from the underground battle, with the ground splitting and flames erupting from time to time.

When they emerged again, the battlefield around them was in ruins.

Roger looked at Carl and said seriously,

"Black Dragon, your Navy has lost this battle."

Carl's eyes narrowed, but he smiled.

"You think so? I don't agree."

Roger shook his head, unfazed. "Without Garp, your Navy is lacking."

Carl chuckled, "Tired of this chase yet, Roger?"

"You don't act like a Marine," Roger replied, narrowing his eyes.

Suddenly, lightning crackled from Carl's body. He stood bathed in darkness and said,

"The Navy isn't something a pirate like you gets to define."

He lifted his hand, and a massive fireball appeared in the darkness, radiating intense heat.

Seeing this blazing orb, Roger felt a surge of disbelief. Even now, he couldn't understand how Carl, a user of the Dark-Dark Fruit, could command fire like that.

Carl's wings unfurled as he charged towards Roger, flames trailing behind him.

"Fireball!"

Roger raised his sword to block the attack, but the fireball exploded on impact, engulfing both fighters in a sea of fire.

At that moment, a warship appeared on the horizon, and several figures leaped from it, racing towards the center of the island.

Kuma was sent flying by Bullet. But as Bullet prepared to chase, he found his movement hampered—his foot encased in ice and vines binding his other leg.

Aokiji and Aramaki stood nearby, supporting Kuma. Aokiji used his ice powers to seal Kuma's bleeding wounds.

"Good to fight side by side, Kuma," Aokiji said with a grin.

"Hey! Watch out, the monster's coming!" Aramaki warned.

Bullet roared, charging forward like a juggernaut, only to be stopped by a giant golden palm that descended from the sky, unleashing a powerful shockwave.
