Chapter 19: Eat Well

"Starting a meal with 150 kilograms of meat…"

"You call that only 70% full?!"

Tokikake nearly choked when he heard Rosen calmly say that, after devouring over 150 kilograms of Sea King meat, he was still only 70% full.

Although Tokikake's appetite wasn't small—he could easily eat 30 kilograms per meal, and sometimes even 50—compared to Rosen, it wasn't worth mentioning.

"Don't be surprised."

"What do you think supports the improvement of physical fitness and Haki strength?"

"Both fighting and training need massive nutrition to sustain them. Without it, you'd simply collapse."

Zephyr spoke matter-of-factly.

"As your training intensity and combat frequency increase, your appetite will also keep rising."

"At that point, eating an entire Sea King in one sitting might sound exaggerated… but finishing off a whole tiger or two in one meal? Perfectly normal for you."

As a former Admiral, even in old age and not often on the front line, Zephyr's own physique and Haki were still monstrous, and his appetite wasn't small either.

"Teacher Zephyr…"

"If that's the case, when we graduate and go on missions… won't we have to carry hundreds of tons of meat aboard the warship?"

Tokikake couldn't help but raise this pitiful question.

"It's best to do so."

"But if you don't have that much prepared, it's fine too."

"The ocean beneath us is full of food. The stronger the Sea King, the higher the nutritional value of its meat."

Zephyr tapped his foot on the ground:

"Think of it like this—if you eat ordinary beef, you might need at least 100 kilograms per meal. For Rosen, he'd need 300 to 500 kilograms easily."

"But if it's Sea King meat, you'll need far less."

"For example, today's meal was made from the smallest, most common Sea Kings. Even so, you only needed to eat about one-third of what you would with beef—so around 20 to 30 kilograms for you. For Rosen, under 200 kilograms."

"If it's from a medium or large Sea King, the nutrition content is higher, so the quantity you need to eat will be even less."

Hearing this, both Gion and Tokikake felt relieved.

After all, they had no devil fruit abilities. If they needed food, they could just dive into the sea and catch their own Sea Kings.

"Sea King meat…"

Rosen also let out a small sigh of relief when he heard this.

Even as a devil fruit user who can't swim, he had countless ways to hunt Sea Kings.

Thinking this, he focused inwardly on the Three Forms of Haki within his body.

Despite devouring nearly 150 kilograms of meat in ten minutes, Rosen noticed that his stomach only bulged slightly—like a normal person after a full meal, not like an overinflated balloon.

Even more interestingly…

He could clearly feel his stomach slowly shrinking at a visible pace.

At the same time…

Three faint streams of warmth flowed simultaneously into three different parts of his body.

[Your comprehension is extraordinary. Through heavy eating the Haki Core, your Haki strength has improved.]

[Armament Haki strength increased by 10%.]

[Observation Haki strength increased by 10%.]

[Conqueror's Haki strength increased by 5%.]

When Rosen felt the rise in all three Haki strengths, a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

Eat.

Eat a lot.

Eat highly nutritious food.

This was the key for his Haki Seeds to Practice themselves and instantly boost Haki strength.

Although it wasn't as explosive as the gains from fighting, it was still considerable.

After all, he couldn't battle every single day… but he had to eat every day. And at least three meals a day!

With daily incremental gains from each meal, plus the non-stop self-Practice of the Haki Seeds, he was guaranteed continuous progress.

In other words…

Even if Rosen did nothing but eat and sleep all day, his Three Forms of Haki would still keep growing stronger.

Compared to other monsters who can only improve through brutal battles, his method was far more efficient and reliable.

"The Haki Seeds seem to have grown a bit…"

"Wait…"

"Why do I feel like their Practice speed has also increased?"

Through his Ultra Instinct, Rosen infused his consciousness into the Armament Haki inside his body and saw clearly—

After the battles with Tokikake and Gion, plus the Sea King feast, the Haki Seeds within his upper, middle, and lower Cores had grown significantly.

More importantly…

After growing, the Haki Seeds' self-Practice speed had also risen.

If before it was like gaining +1 Haki strength per second, now it has become +1.5 per second.

It might not sound like much, but don't forget—

The Haki Seeds didn't need sleep and Practiced 24/7.

That meant Rosen's Haki strength had changed from +1 per second to +1.5 per second.

Not in years, but in just one day, this would yield tremendous gains.

"The stronger my Haki, the faster the Haki Seeds' self-Practice…"

"Looks like from now on, every meal has to be Sea King meat."

"In that case, while others risk their lives fighting to improve, I just need to eat well, and my Haki strength will skyrocket."

Rosen felt the surging vitality and steady growth of his Haki Seeds and felt deeply satisfied.

This… was the true way to master the Three Forms of Haki!

"Alright, tell me."

"What did you gain from that last battle?"

"Or… what do you think is your biggest shortcoming?"

After seeing that all three had finished eating, Zephyr led them back to his office.

This allowed them to rest while also reflecting on the fight, paving the way for future training.

"Gion, you first."

Zephyr looked at Gion.

"The technique of Armament Haki."

"If I had mastered the Emission technique, when Rosen attacked, I could have released my Haki early and neutralized most of his impact before it even touched me. Then, I wouldn't have been knocked out with one blow."

"But… the most important thing is Observation Haki."

Gion paused for a moment and then continued earnestly:

"Rosen was able to suppress Tokikake and me at the same time mainly because of his Observation Haki."

"He could predict our moves in advance. Like at the start—he used Conqueror's Haki to disrupt us, then took advantage of the brief window to knock me back first. After that, he used the combination of Blut Vene (Calm Blood Dress) and Armament Haki Hardening and Imbuement to block Tokikake's attack, and finally finished him with a Conqueror's Haki Infusion kick."

"The reason Tokikake and I lost so badly—just one punch and one kick—was at least 50% because we lacked Observation Haki."

Hearing this, Tokikake quickly nodded.

"Teacher Zephyr."

"Never mind Armament techniques—if Gion and I had Observation Haki, we wouldn't have lost so fast."

"We could've held on longer… or at least let Brother Rosen punch us a few more times first!"

Tokikake pinched his chin, his face full of unwillingness.

During the meal, he had replayed the match against Rosen over and over in his mind.

There was a strength gap, yes—but it was still two against one. With everyone new to Haki, they shouldn't have been defeated that overwhelmingly.

"Good."

"Your biggest weakness right now is clearly Observation Haki."

"So, you two will spend this afternoon training Observation Haki. I've already arranged the practice area—someone will come get you soon."

Hearing this, Gion and Tokikake's eyes lit up.

Seeing this, Rosen quietly nodded to himself.

As expected of a true master teacher.

It looked like he was asking them to reflect, but in fact, Zephyr had already seen through their weaknesses and arranged the next training plan.

"Your turn."

"Rosen."

After arranging Gion and Tokikake schedule, Zephyr turned to Rosen.
