Chapter 55: Chapter 55: The Storm Breaks
The air was charged with tension as Ragnor Stormfang's laughter faded, and a strained silence descended on the marketplace. Each pirate, merchant, and bystander was perfectly motionless, their eyes flicking back and forth between Solian and the giant captain of the Storm Reaver Pirates.
The Solar Rift Pirates stood firm, unafraid. Solian's flames flickered at his fingertips, a subtle warning.
Ragnor's grin widened. "Good. I was hoping you wouldn't back down."
Then, he moved.
The Battle Erupts
Ragnor's battle-axe was a blur, falling with devastating power. Solian had just enough time to react, opening a portal beneath himself and reappearing several meters away as the axe split the stone floor where he had stood.
"Quick one, eh?" Ragnor chuckled, his scarred eye glinting with expectation.
At the same moment, the Storm Reaver Pirates charged, drawing cutlasses, pistols, and other weapons as they lunged at Solian's crew.
"Looks like we're doing this!" Vance roared, intercepting a blade with his reinforced gloves and countering with a crushing hook to the ribs.
Kael spun his rusted blade, parrying multiple enemies at once, his smirk never fading. "About time something interesting happened."
Jorin fought with surgical precision, disarming foes in an instant and using their own weapons against them. "We're really doing this right in the middle of town?"
Rock Lee, ever eager for battle, leapt into the air, his legs spinning into a barrage of kicks that sent multiple pirates flying. "A test of our strength! This is the perfect warm-up!"
The streets became a battleground, steel clashing, fire burning, and fists brawling.
Solian vs. Ragnor
Solian led the charge forward, his fists covered in solar energy, landing a burning punch into Ragnor's chest.
But Ragnor merely smiled—and caught Solian's fist with one hand.
What?!
Solian had no time to react before Ragnor twisted his hand and flung him into a market stand, demolishing it on contact.
Solian grunted, standing up. "He's stronger than I thought."
Ragnor cracked his neck. "You're quick, but your punches lack weight." He lifted his axe onto his shoulder. "Let's fix that."
In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance.
Solian barely dodged as the axe came down again, splintering the ground beneath him. He teleported away—but Ragnor was already predicting his movements.
A massive fist caught Solian mid-teleport, sending him crashing through a wall.
Dust filled the air.
Solian coughed, blood flowing from his lip. He had barely flinched from that strike.
Ragnor stepped forward, rolling his shoulders. Is that all you got?
Solian's flames burned brighter, his eyes burning with determination.
"Not even close."
The Crew Holds Their Own
The rest of the Solar Rift Pirates were fighting meanwhile.
Kael had taken on two of the elite Storm Reaver pirates at the same time, his sword battling crazily against theirs as sparks flew.
Jorin had disarmed his assailant, twisting their own sword back and knocking them out with the hilt.
Rock Lee was in his element, dodging swords by inches and then counterattacking with bone-crushing kicks. "Your movements are slow! A warrior must train more!"
Vance was brawling with brute force, his fists demolishing wooden crates and sending pirates crashing into each other.
The Solar Rift Pirates were holding their own—but the counterattack never relented.
Then, something changed.
A Sudden Shift – Conqueror's Haki Awakens
Just as Solian was preparing to deliver the next strike, something inside him broke.
A burst of invisible energy blasted outward.
The entire battlefield froze.
Pirates with frail wills dropped instantly, their bodies plummeting to the ground like puppets whose strings had been cut. Even some of Ragnor's stronger soldiers staggered, bewilderment in their wide eyes.
The air was thick with tension.
