Drego snarled, his burned shoulder smoking. "You little—!"

He didn't have a chance to get the rest out. Solian teleported again, standing next to one of the weaker pirates.

The man didn't even have the chance to wince before a burning fist crashed into his belly. He groaned in pain, stumbling backward before he hit the ground.

The rest of the pirates attacked.

Solian barely avoided a sword slice, darting three meters off to the side just in time. He wasn't fast enough to dodge all of them, though—a flailing dagger sliced through his arm and left a surface wound.

"Tch."

His physiology was strong enough that the wound wasn't deep, but the sear reminded him—this wasn't training.

Drego picked up a massive spiked club from the ground and swung.

The sheer force of it sent a shockwave through the air, even though it missed.

Solian's instincts screamed—if that hits me, I'm dead.

He needed a plan.

His basic flame projection was useful, but it wasn't strong enough to knock out an opponent this tough. His short-distance teleport helped, but the range was too short to completely escape an attack.

He had to use both together.

Drego charged, his club raised high.

Solian fired a blast of flame at his eyes.

"Argh!" The pirate stumbled back, momentarily blinded.

Solian vanished, reappearing behind him, flames already licking at his fist.

"Solar Smash!"

His flame-charged punch hit Drego's back, knocking the pirate captain forward. He slammed into a pile of crates, groaning.

The rest of the pirates hesitated, gazing at their fallen captain.

Solian panted, his energy draining faster than expected. His abilities were powerful, but he could feel the strain of using them repeatedly.

"I need to end this."

Drego wasn't done yet. Slowly, he pushed himself up, rage burning in his single eye.

"Damn brat… I'll kill you!"

He swung his club with full force.

Solian didn't dodge.

He teleported above Drego, twisting mid-air. Flames surged around his foot as he kicked downward.

Boom!

The punch was a shock of heat and energy bursting outward, sending the other pirates stumbling back on their feet.

Drego collapsed, knocked out.

Silence.

Solian landed, gasping for breath. He wiped the sweat from his forehead, looking at his defeated enemies.
