Chapter 186: The Two Kings of the Straw Hat Crew, a Clash of Conqueror's Haki

"Grandpa! What are you doing here?!"

Luffy, amidst his shock, quickly connected the dots. "Could it be! Are you here to save Ace too?!"

"Uh... I..." Garp opened his mouth but no words came out.

Looking at the trace of anticipation in his grandson's eyes opposite him, for a moment he didn't know what to say. After a moment of silence, he finally sighed and said in a weak voice:

"Ace is inside. Go and see him one last time. I'll give you some time."

"One last time..."

Luffy stared blankly at him, seeming to not believe such words would come from Garp's mouth.

"What are you talking about, Grandpa! Ace is going to be executed! He's going to die!"

A mixture of anxiety, confusion, and anger welled up in his heart. Luffy clenched his fists tightly and questioned loudly.

"I have my position. Don't force me, Luffy," Garp said through gritted teeth in a low voice, turning his head to avoid the gaze that was wrenching his heart.

He was a Marine; Luffy and Ace were pirates. This was the path they had chosen themselves.

He should have known this day would come.

The entire cell block fell into silence. The few onlookers didn't dare to breathe.

"I will definitely save Ace," Luffy said and then fell silent. He took a deep look at the other, then strode towards the inside.

In the gloomy corridor, only the thud-thud-thud of his sandals on the ground remained.

Nami tentatively spoke, "Um... can we pass?"

"Hmm?" Garp's solemn expression swept over the few of them.

His imposing aura, powerful without being angry, made their hearts leap into their throats. A drop of cold sweat unconsciously trickled down their foreheads.

"Hahaha... just kidding," Nami immediately backed down, waving her hands with a sheepish laugh, already having a plan in mind.

Now is not the time to fight. Several of the main fighters haven't arrived yet.

Her idea was simple: wait for Reiner to come and back her up.

In a single cell, Ace was kneeling on the ground, his hands tightly locked in shackles, looking at him in shock.
