Chapter 37: 《One Piece: Rising》Chapter 37: Miss Gunshi, What I Want Is Beyond Your Reach!
At Sengoku's residence, the sudden wail of alarm sirens shattered the tranquil atmosphere. The three Marine Headquarters veterans, who had barely settled into their seats, abandoned their untouched tea and rushed into the courtyard.
"That's—"
Garp's pupils contracted sharply as his gaze locked onto the strangely-attired figures atop Headquarters' central tower.
"The Holy Knights!"
Sengoku's face contorted with confusion and frustration. "How could the Holy Knights' teleportation circle appear on our headquarters rooftop? Was it summoned by an infiltrator, or had they marked the building during its construction?"
Unlike his agitated colleagues, Zephyr maintained remarkable composure. After silently observing the distant figures, he spoke with measured calm.
"Garp, you recognize these individuals?"
"Several participated in the God Valley Hunting Game thirty-two years ago," Garp confirmed with a grim nod. "To be precise, all except the young woman were present during the God Valley incident."
Marine Headquarters, Central Tower Rooftop
The first figure to emerge from the teleportation circle was a strikingly youthful woman with heterochromatic eyes and exceptionally long legs.
She wore a newsboy cap adorned with goggles, a flowing cape, and a double-breasted jacket with unusually elongated sleeves. In stark contrast, her lower body was clad in nothing more than bikini-like shorts that fully exposed her slender legs. Knee-high cylindrical boots completed her appearance—an arresting combination of martial elegance and deliberate provocation.
This was Gunshi—member of the Holy Knights and wielder of the Arrow-Arrow Fruit.
As Gunshi stepped clear of the portal, her bandage-wrapped mouth set in a firm line, the teleportation circle behind her surged with renewed intensity. Fiery clouds billowed upward as waves of invisible pressure rippled outward, warping the very fabric of space around them.
More figures materialized from within this arcane gateway.
Following Gunshi came a man wearing a mask emblazoned with the number "46," a Western-style rapier gripped in his hand, his features completely obscured behind his ceremonial facade.
After him emerged two women—one exuding refined elegance despite her midriff-baring attire and voluptuous figure, the other with short hair and a demure countenance.
As this trio cleared the portal, the flame-wreathed teleportation circle abruptly vanished, leaving two bizarrely-dressed men standing vigilant, their wary gazes sweeping the surroundings.
One carried a long-handled scythe across his shoulders and wore a skull-shaped mask. Though he remained perfectly motionless, he radiated an almost palpable aura of death—like the Grim Reaper himself materialized upon the mortal plane.
Beside him stood a hooded figure bearing a long spear, whose youthful appearance suggested the boy-next-door rather than an elite warrior of the Holy Land.
As the six Holy Knights led by Gunshi established their presence on the rooftop, Marine soldiers drawn by the alarms quickly surrounded the building's perimeter.
Suddenly, a blinding flash of light streaked upward, coalescing instantly into the form of Admiral Borsalino directly opposite the intruders.
Before the Holy Knights could react, Sakazuki and Kuzan emerged side by side from the rooftop access door.
"The three Marine Admirals!"
Gunshi assessed the powerful figures arrayed before her, then spoke without hesitation.
"It appears the coup has left you entirely unaffected. May I therefore conclude that all three of you participated in last night's unprecedented military uprising?"
In response, Borsalino—first to arrive on the scene—lazily surveyed the uninvited visitors before drawling, "The Holy Knights? How frightening~ To think you'd materialize directly atop Marine Headquarters through a teleportation circle."
"Borsalino, don't misunderstand~"
Before Gunshi could respond, the long-haired woman beside her stepped forward. "We haven't come to hold anyone accountable. We represent the Holy Land in negotiations with Vice Admiral Xayuki."
At this revelation, Borsalino and Sakazuki exchanged a meaningful glance.
While they had anticipated diplomatic intervention, they hadn't expected the Holy Knights themselves to serve as emissaries. As Admirals, they were well aware that the Holy Knights' primary function was protecting the Celestial Dragons residing in Mariejois and maintaining the Holy Land's internal order.
The Holy Knights rarely ventured beyond Mariejois, and when they did, it was exclusively for matters directly concerning the Celestial Dragons. Even a coup at Marine Headquarters would typically not warrant their involvement unless the Five Elders in the Chamber of Authority deemed the situation truly desperate.
Yet here stood six Holy Knights who had arrived unannounced via teleportation. This unexpected development left the Admirals uncertain about the Holy Land's position and intentions.
"Bring Xayuki to us!"
Gunshi stepped forward to stand alongside the long-haired woman, her expression glacial.
"If he desires to secure his position as Fleet Admiral, he would be wise not to keep us waiting!"
"Such audacity!"
Before Gunshi's words had fully registered, a frigid voice cut through the tension.
Moments later, two figures emerged from the rooftop access—Xayuki and Vice Admiral Gion.
Without breaking stride, Xayuki walked directly past the three Admirals and halted before the Holy Knights. His penetrating gaze fixed on Gunshi as he declared with unwavering conviction:
"Miss Gunshi, you lack the authority to negotiate with me, because what I desire is beyond your capacity to provide!"
"You... you know my identity?"
Gunshi's pupils contracted in shock as she stared unblinkingly at Xayuki.
The Holy Knights rarely appeared before the public eye, and even within Mariejois, few knew their exact membership. The organization included not only Celestial Dragons but also powerful individuals recruited from across the seas, who typically abandoned their former identities upon joining.
Most significantly, Gunshi had only recently been inducted into the Holy Knights. Beyond a select few within the organization, even the Five Elders remained unaware of her current affiliation.
Yet here stood Xayuki—a man who had joined the Marines a mere six years ago and appeared even younger than herself—addressing her by name with absolute certainty.
Xayuki ignored her question. His incisive gaze swept across the other five Holy Knights before he continued in a measured tone:
"If my assessment is correct, the five of you participated in the God Valley Hunting Game thirty-two years ago."
"How unfortunate your careers have proven. To think that after three decades as Holy Knights, you now trail behind this young woman. Truly lamentable!"
"Having spent so many years in the Holy Knights without achieving prominence, perhaps you should consider pledging allegiance to me instead. I offer you the prospect of genuine advancement."
