Chapter 163: Chapter 163: Chiga's Horn (Bonus Chapter)
After an unknown amount of time, the office door opened, and Chiga walked out, holding Kalifa in his arms.
Kalifa's steps were slightly unsteady, and her flushed face still carried a lingering blush, making her look particularly charming.
Chiga looked down at Kalifa and said gently, "You're not moving too well. I'll take you back to your room to rest."
"No, I want to walk around with you," Kalifa replied softly, her tone carrying a hint of tenderness. He couldn't help but wonder if the Nine-Tailed Fox Fruit had caused such a noticeable change in her.
But since Kalifa didn't want to rest, a walk was fine. It was almost dinner time anyway—they could eat together.
Thinking this, Chiga placed his arm around Kalifa's waist and led her downstairs.
As they stepped outside the headquarters, Chiga immediately noticed Yamato looking around curiously, her head tilted upward, while Ain stood beside her, hands behind her back, lightly tapping her toes against the ground.
In fact, Chiga had already sensed them when they came to the office door earlier. He had even considered using the Op-Op Fruit's ability to teleport himself and Kalifa away.
But for some reason, Ain gave up on opening the door and pulled Yamato away, sparing Chiga the trouble.
Still, Chiga felt a twinge of guilt toward the considerate Ain. Now, seeing her face-to-face, he wasn't sure how to respond.
As for Yamato, standing beside Ain, Chiga chose to ignore her completely.
Ain spotted Chiga and Kalifa emerging. Seeing Kalifa's flushed, alluring face, she pursed her lips and asked flatly, "Done with your… business?"
Her words made both Chiga and Kalifa slightly embarrassed. They exchanged glances before Chiga forced a reply. "We're done. Did I keep you waiting?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Chiga regretted them. What the hell am I saying?
(Bro's a player, I sometimes wonder how those girls in Chinese novels doesn't leave those Mc)
Kalifa subtly rolled her eyes. Her boss had just made the atmosphere even more awkward.
Sighing inwardly, Kalifa stepped in to smooth things over, as always.
Slipping from Chiga's arms, she walked up to Ain and looked her in the eyes.
Ain, caught off guard by Kalifa's direct gaze, fumbled with her words. "Kalifa… did I disturb you?"
Kalifa didn't expect that reaction. She chuckled softly, genuinely amused by Ain's adorable awkwardness.
Still holding back laughter, Kalifa gently took Ain's hands and whispered, "You're one of us. What's all this about disturbing?"
The phrase "one of us" made Ain freeze, blinking in surprise. "Eh?"
Before she could say more, Yamato chimed in enthusiastically, "Sister Kalifa, I'm one of us too! Just now Sister Ain said you and Master were doing special training and wouldn't let me mention it. But I really want to train with Master too. Can you ask him for me?"
Bang!
Before Kalifa could respond, Chiga landed a direct punch on Yamato's head. He was utterly speechless.
Even Nerona would've figured out what was going on by now.
Kaido… Kaido… how did you ever raise such a blockhead?
Yamato rubbed the growing bump on her forehead, feeling incredibly wronged. Was it a crime to want to get stronger?
She looked up to voice her grievance—then froze.
Because she saw something on Chiga's forehead: a horn.
The pain forgotten, Yamato gasped. "Master! Why do you have a horn on your head?!"
Her cry made Ain look more closely—and she finally noticed the horn too.
She'd been so flustered earlier that she missed the glaring detail growing from Chiga's head.
Yamato rushed over and reached for the oddly artistic-looking horn without a second thought.
But Chiga calmly pressed a hand to her face and pushed her away.
Yamato pouted and tried again, only for Chiga to silence her with a sharp glare—his Rinnegan shimmering ominously.
That was enough to shut her up, though her sulking expression looked like she could hang a soy sauce bottle off her lips.
Chiga gave her an exasperated look and said flatly, "This horn isn't something you can just touch. If it pierces your skin, you're dead."
He wasn't exaggerating. The horn carried the venom of the Venom-Venom Fruit, inherited from Magellan. While it was safe under his control, if someone were actually pricked, it wouldn't end well.
He could save them—but not without suffering.
Yamato nodded, half-understanding. The red hue on the tip of the horn definitely gave off a dangerous vibe. Maybe Master wasn't joking after all.
With Yamato finally quiet, Chiga turned to Ain and briefly explained: the horn was the result of his body evolving along with his eyes.
The logic was shaky, but Ain accepted it without question.
Besides, the horn gave Chiga a unique charm. She thought he looked even more handsome with it.
Having dealt with both girls, Chiga was ready to resume his private time with Kalifa. But she had other plans—insisting that Ain and Yamato join them.
Kalifa felt more than satisfied for the day. It'd be nice to walk around and have fun together as a group.
Since Kalifa had made the call, Chiga went along with it. Today, she was the boss; he was just the secretary.
And so, the group decided to head toward the commercial street and have dinner there.
But fate seemed determined to rob Chiga of his quiet evening.
As they walked, two voices rang out behind them: "Brother Chiga!"
Chiga turned and saw Ace and Law hurrying over.
Kalifa chuckled, teasing, "Boss, your little fans are here."
Chiga sighed with a wry smile, his eyes settling on Law.
Meeting him here was timely—it was the perfect opportunity to give Law the Hormone-Hormone Fruit he'd acquired from the Door-Door Dimension.
After joining the Navy, Law had seen countless wounded return from the battlefield. It only deepened his resolve to pursue medicine, and his natural talent didn't go unnoticed—many naval doctors spoke highly of him.
Chiga had seen Law's potential and gone to Ivankov specifically to get this gift.
He hoped the Hormone-Hormone Fruit would take Law's medical skills to the next level.
He just hoped Law wouldn't develop any of Ivankov's… eccentric side effects.
